Install was not too hard for me, and a year into using them they work fine. The only thing I would do differently relates to the controller I bought to operate these brakes. I bought the least expensive controller, and I should have bought a mid-level controller. My trailer is so lite that when unladen I don’t have enough gain adjustment on the controller. Too much braking force even at the lowest setting. But when loaded everything works as needed.

by:

Make this an automatic component to the brake replacement kit??I red a customer review which, warned the nut and washers included.

Great product!

E trailer did a fantastic job.
Before
order: Technical support / help was excellent.
Goal, conversion of a 1998 Floe snowmobile trailer from surge to electric brakes.
Problem, due to time and corrosion, I could only supply partial part numbers, spindle diameter.
etrailer did a fantastic job, researching, and getting me the correct part numbers, so I could order.
Julie did a great job.
She was very timely, communicated clearly and honestly, and just “kept me in the loop”.

I received the order came on the projected date, complete and undamaged. Excellent.
I would highly recommend etrailer, for your part needs.

  • Replacement 7 inch Brake Assembly for Fiat Elnagh 320 Motorhome
Buongiorno! We do carry Replacement Magnet Kit for 7" Electric Trailer Brake Assemblies - 2,000 lbs Item # AKBRKR-M7. However, it looks like the center mounting hole on yours is round, whereas ours uses a square/rectangular hole. It doesn't appear that the hole on the # AKBRKR-M7 is large enough to allow the arm (on the brake assembly) to fit through. If you scroll to about the 5:40 min mark on the Redline Replacement Magnet Kit video Iinked below, you'll see the arm I'm referring to...

  • Which Electric Brakes For 7" Hub With 4-Bolt Brake Flange
Hey Tim, So you can use electric brakes, since it sounds like you have the standard 4-bolt brake mounting flange. Since you have 4.80-12 tires and wheels you should have a 7" diameter hub, and so long as you do, what you'll need is the following: - Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes - 7" - Left/Right Hand Assemblies # 23-47-48 - Mounting Hardware for 7" Brake Assemblies # BRKH7

  • Brake Controller For 2018 VW Tiguan With Factory 4-Flat & Brakes For Trailer With 2,000 lb Axle
We can get you set up to tow your jet ski trailer and add electric brakes, but let's go ahead and start with the brake controller for your 2018 VW Tiguan. Since the vehicle already has a factory 4-flat, you would just need to add the 7-way and wiring along with the controller. You are on point with the wiring of your VW being finicky - that's a really good way to put it. The issue is that the brake light wire on a Tiguan is often inaccessible, or can be in different locations, if it can...

  • Hub and Drum and Brakes for Trailer With 2,000 lb Axles & Bearings L44649
Thanks for that great information we have exactly what you need for your 2,000 lb axles. The number you gave of 1.063 inches in diameter where your bearings ride on the spindle corresponds to Bearing # L44649. Knowing that, we can get you the correct hub and drum, which is the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-2K. These hub and drums work with 7" brake assemblies and for hydraulic brakes the correct assembly is the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399. These...

Keep in mind, these are rated for a 2k axle so your capacity will be slightly lower with the hubs installed. For brakes you can use the etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-2 which match the brake flange measurements in the attached picture. You will also need mounting hardware # BRKH7. The white wire from the 7-way plug needs to be grounded to a clean bare metal surface on the vehicle's frame. • What Do I Need To Add Electric Brakes To My Carry All Trailer?
We can definitely get you all the parts needed to add brakes to your trailer, but it is going to be an extensive list since there currently isn't anything on the axle. I did include an article regarding just this kind of situation, but lets get started. First things first, you will need something for brakes to mount onto. This will be done by having the Brake Mounting Flange # 4-34 welded onto the axle. This will need to be done by an experienced welded as the spacing and placement has...

The proper replacement would be the etrailer brand # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K which is compatible with both E-Z Lube or standard spindles. • How To Determine Correct Electric Trailer Brakes For 2,500 lb Axle
I can help you figure out how to determine the correct electric trailer brakes for your Little Guy trailer with a 2,500 lb axle, and there are a couple of things you'll need to know. So in order to determine the correct electric brake assemblies, you need to know the inside diameter of your hub's drum and have a 4-bolt brake mounting flange on your spindle. For example, you mentioned you have a 2,500 lb axle, so it is likely your drum measures either 7" diameter or 10" diameter. If it...
