Question:
I need to know if I can buy a brake kit for my 5 by 8 Carry all trailer I made into a camper so its safer in the mountains. I took a picture of the place the wheels go on without the wheel.

We can definitely get you all the parts needed to add brakes to your trailer, but it is going to be an extensive list since there currently isn't anything on the axle. I did include an article regarding just this kind of situation, but lets get started.
First things first, you will need something for brakes to mount onto. This will be done by having the Brake Mounting Flange # 4-34 welded onto the axle. This will need to be done by an experienced welded as the spacing and placement has to be exact for the brakes to sit in the correct place. Once these are welded on, you will then be able to mount the Electric Trailer Brake Kit -2,000 lbs # AKEBRK-2, you will also need the Mounting Hardware for 7" Brake Assemblies # BRKH7 to get them fully attached. There will need to be some wiring to get the brakes powered, but the length will depend on how you prefer to run it and all that.
Once the brakes are attached, you will need the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K. This will give the brakes the surface it needs to adhere to and from what I could find out about your Carry All trailer, this will fit almost to a T as it will use the same # L44649 inner and outer bearings. With that said, your spindles do use a smaller grease seal, so you will also need qty.2 of # 34823 to complete the hub/drum set up. These also use the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, which is what is used on your current hubs.
As your trailer/camper will now have brakes, It is very highly recommended that you get a break away kit installed, like the Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test # 20099. This will allow the brakes to engage if ever the trailer were to become disconnected from your vehicle. Wiring this up can be a bit of a pain, so I always recommend a junction box, like the # 38656, to make life easier. This will also make hooking up a 7 way plug, like the Hopkins # H20044, a lot easier as well. Once all this is hooked up, it will complete the set up for the trailer side of your rig.
