Adding Electric Brakes to a 2,100 lbs Axle

Question:

I have a Dexter axle #48424 on a 2007 Coachmen Clipper tent trailer that I want to add electric brakes to, need help with the parts needed. Bolt pattern is 4 on 4, wheel size is 12 inch, axle weight is 2100 lbs. Thanks

To add electric brakes to your 2,100 lb axle you will need the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-2. This comes with left and right hand assemblies that are 7" diameter x 1-1/4" wide, fit 12" wheels and have a 4 bolt mounting flange pattern. You will also need mounting hardware # BRKH7 to complete the installation, and a brake adjustment spoon # W80630.

The only other thing you will need is a brake controller and the wiring that goes with it. I have added a link to our page with our selection of brake controllers, as well as links to video reviews of the assemblies and hardware for you to take a look at.
