Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch Operation

Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Operation

The Curt Double Lock underbed gooseneck trailer hitch provides a sturdy, secure connection for towing your gooseneck trailer and also allows for a clean, unobtrusive look for your truck bed when you aren't towing. To tow, simply pull the included handle out to unlock the hitch. Then insert the chrome-plated hitch ball into the ball hole. You may need to rotate the ball to line it up with the dual locking pins. When the ball drops into place, rotate the handle counterclockwise until the locking pins snap into position. Because there are 2 locking pins instead of 1, you get extra security for your towing setup.

Get full bed access when you're not towing. Just remove the ball, flip it upside down, drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch, and use the handle to lock the ball in place. A rubber cover is included with the Double Lock. When the ball is stowed upside down in the hitch, place this cover over the ball hole to keep out dirt and grime and create a clean look for your vehicle.

  • Will The Curt 5TH Wheel Hitch Rails Fit With Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch on 2018 Chevy 3500?
The Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # C16411-204 will not fit your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 as you already have the Rails # C60604 for a gooseneck hitch installed where the rail brackets mount. If you have the Double Lock # C607-604 you can use the Adapter # C16210 for using a 5th wheel hitch.

  • How to Tell the Difference Between the Curt Double Lock & EZr Gooseneck Hitch
If you could send me a picture of the gooseneck hitch you have installed in your 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 then I would be able to make a more educated guess but based on your description you have the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C607-604 and the correct adapter would indeed be part # C16210. However, if the gooseneck hitch was installed at the dealer then you would have had the Curt EZr Gooseneck Hitch part # C611-624 and the correct adapter would be part # C16220. I have attached...

  • Solution for Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with Curt Double-Lock Hitch on 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500
While we do have other options for you, the only way to use the B&W Companion # BWRVK3500 or # BWRVK3400 is by having the entire B&W Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1016 installed on your 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500 as there isn't a way to safely fit different parts of gooseneck hitches together. With that being said, I'm a little curious about the gooseneck hitch you currently have installed. Reason being that the Chevy factory gooseneck hitch would have needed all of the pucks installed as well...

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a Curt Underbed Gooseneck Hitch
B&W does not but I have something that is comparable. B&W's Turnoverball systems and their Companion hitches work exclusively with each other and are not compatible with other gooseneck hitches like your Curt item # C611-624 or item # C607-604. They have a square receiver over a circular one. To connect a 5th wheel hitch to the Curt gooseneck ball in your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500, I recommend the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter item # DM8550045. This 5th wheel...

  • Is The B&W Companion Compatible With A Curt Under Bed Goose Neck Hitch
From what you have in the photo, the one on the left looks like it is for a Curt under bed hitch like Item # C607-604. The B&W Companion like Item # BWRVK3400 uses a square insert so they are not going to be compatible. The reason they do not make a round adapter for the B&W Companion is because it would sheer the pin. The only way you would be able to use your Companion would be to change the under bed kit to a B&W like Item # BWGNRK1012. The center hole in the bed for the B & W has...

  • How to Tell Difference Between Curt EZr and Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch
Easiest way to tell which gooseneck hitch you have is by looking at the safety cable loops. If they are about as wide as the gooseneck ball hole and are centered with the ball hole it's an EZr, if the safety chain loops are a smaller and offset then it's a double lock. Take a look at the pictures of the EZR part # C611-624 and the # C607-604 and compare your safety chain setup to both of these. Let me know which yours matches and we can go from there. The part # C16210 is for the Double...

  • Comparing Curt Double Lock and EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch for 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500
The only difference between the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C607-604 and Curt EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C611-624 for a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 is the center locator tool that comes with the EZr. This helps to drill out the center hitch ball hole but aside from that they are pretty much the same. I recommend the EZr because of the added tool but if you are a more experienced installer, you can get away without it and save some money.

  • Do Curt Gooseneck Hitches # C607-604 and # C611-624 Both Fit 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
Realistically there isn't a noticeable difference between the two Curt gooseneck hitches that both fit your 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. Both the # C607-604 and # C611-624 are a great fit that will for all intents and purposes work just as well as the other. For the most part the EZr is a smaller version that very similar but slightly different ball.

  • Dimensions Of Curt Pop-In Ball for Factory Chevy Prep Packages
I believe you are asking for the measurement from the top of the center portion of the ball to the top of the ball part # C60629 which is 3-1/2". The ball is designed to fit newer Chevy, Ford, GM, and Nissan Titan XD trucks with OEM truck bed puck systems. I do not believe the 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 had the OEM prep package. The Curt Double Lock # C607-604 and EZr Double Lock # C611-624 for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 are essentially the same gooseneck hitch. The only differences are that the Double Lock has a pin weight rating of 7,500 lbs while the EZr has a pin weight rating of 6,000 lbs and the EZr comes with a center locator to make drilling the gooseneck hole in your bed much easier. Both are rated for towing up to 30,000 lbs, have spring-loaded safety chain loops, the ability to store the hitch ball...

The gooseneck hitch you have is the Curt 600 Series part # C60604 which is just the rail kit of the # C607-604 that you referenced. I attached a link to the install instructions and an install video for the hitch for you to check out as well. If your truck was a short bed the center of the gooseneck hole would need to be 44 inches from the rear truck bed rail. If instead you had a long bed the dimension would be 48-7/8 inches instead.

  • Best Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500
The best gooseneck trailer hitch for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 is by far the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1016 because it has a square base for its hitch ball which ensures optimal strength and durability. What makes the B&W the best option, and separates it from the likes of the Curt Double Lock # C607-604 which also fits your '19 Silverado 3500, is that the hitch ball of the B&W gooseneck hitch has a square shank that fits directly in the base, and is...

  • What Size Hole Saw Is Needed To Install the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck C607-604?
I went ahead and checked with my contact at curt to get some clarity on this one. There is no 4-5/8" hole saw required to install this # C607-604. You would use a 4" hole saw for the center hole, and you would use a 5/8" hole saw (or drill bit) to make the holes for the safety chain loops. The way they have it worded in the instructions is certainly confusing (4" and 5/8" hole saw).

From a function point of view there isn't a huge difference between the two Curt gooseneck hitches that are listed as a fit for your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500. That you would notice is the EZR has a smaller plate that has larger u-bolts for safety chains and the Double Lock has smaller safety chain loops that aren't centered.
