What Size Hole Saw Is Needed To Install the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck C607-604?

Updated 07/10/2023 | Published 07/08/2023

Question:

When installing the C607-604 it is recommended to use a 4inch hole saw but Curt also recommends a 4 5/8inch hole saw. When measuring, the 4inch hole saw appears that it might present a very tight fit and the 4 5/8inch would be pretty big. Also, the 4 5/8inch is a unicorninch in that you cannot locate one easily. Would a 4 1/2inch hole saw work best for this application still allowing room for the rubber seal to fit comfortably on the freshly cut hole?

I went ahead and checked with my contact at curt to get some clarity on this one. There is no 4-5/8" hole saw required to install this # C607-604. You would use a 4" hole saw for the center hole, and you would use a 5/8" hole saw (or drill bit) to make the holes for the safety chain loops. The way they have it worded in the instructions is certainly confusing (4" and 5/8" hole saw).
