Curt EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch Operation

Curt EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Operation

The Curt EZr Double Lock underbed gooseneck trailer hitch provides a sturdy, secure connection for towing your gooseneck trailer and also allows for a clean, unobtrusive look for your truck bed when you aren't towing. To tow, simply pull the included handle out to unlock the hitch. Then insert the chrome-plated hitch ball into the ball hole. You may need to rotate the ball to line it up with the dual locking pins. When the ball drops into place, rotate the handle counterclockwise until the locking pins snap into position. Because there are 2 locking pins instead of 1, you get extra security for your towing setup.

Get full bed access when you're not towing. Just remove the ball, flip it upside down, drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch, and use the handle to lock the ball in place. A rubber cover is included with the EZr Double Lock. When the ball is stowed upside down in the hitch, place this cover over the ball hole to keep out dirt and grime and create a clean look for your vehicle.

Curt Center Locator Tool

Curt Center Locator for Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch

The innovative center locator tool included with this gooseneck trailer hitch is designed to make installation fast and easy by eliminating the need to measure where the ball hole must be cut into your truck bed. Once you have the custom installation kit in place and the gooseneck hitch is properly attached to the rails, the bright orange locator will help you to finish installation.

Curt Center Locator for Drilling Pilot Hole

Use the hole at the center of the locator to line up your 3/16" drill bit, and drill up from beneath the bed to create a pilot hole. This pilot hole will be your guide as you cut the 4" diameter ball hole into your truck bed.

Curt Center Locator for Drilling Ball Hole in Truck Bed

When you begin cutting through your bed, the locator will act as a trim shield, ensuring that you don't drill too deep. Continue cutting from the top of your truck bed until orange shavings appear. Once you see these shavings, you've gone far enough. The center locator can be easily removed from the hitch once installation is complete.

  • Best Adapter to Convert Curt EZr Gooseneck to Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2019 GMC Sierra 2500
Let's start with the adapter you need for the Curt EZr Double Lock Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C611-624 in your 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed, which is the Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate for EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C16220. This adapter will fit into the EZr hitch and give you above-bed fifth wheel rails for a number of compatible 5th wheel hitches. Among those that will work, the best sliding 5th wheel hitch for your 13,500 lb fifth wheel is the Curt...

  • How to Tell the Difference Between the Curt Double Lock & EZr Gooseneck Hitch
If you could send me a picture of the gooseneck hitch you have installed in your 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 then I would be able to make a more educated guess but based on your description you have the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C607-604 and the correct adapter would indeed be part # C16210. However, if the gooseneck hitch was installed at the dealer then you would have had the Curt EZr Gooseneck Hitch part # C611-624 and the correct adapter would be part # C16220. I have attached...

  • Is It Easy to Remove Reese M5 For Max Duty Underbed System From 2015 Silverado 2500
Hello Robert, Removing the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Max Duty Underbed Mounting System # RP72VR would be a pain as it is heavy and there isn't a great way to disassemble it. There also isn't a way to mount this hitch in your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 as it fits the Max Duty system which is for Fords. That said, what you can do if you want to tow a 5th wheel is install a gooseneck hitch and then an adapter which works as a 5th wheel hitch. So what I'd do with your '15 Silverado...

  • Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch for a Curt Underbed Gooseneck Hitch
B&W does not but I have something that is comparable. B&W's Turnoverball systems and their Companion hitches work exclusively with each other and are not compatible with other gooseneck hitches like your Curt item # C611-624 or item # C607-604. They have a square receiver over a circular one. To connect a 5th wheel hitch to the Curt gooseneck ball in your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500, I recommend the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter item # DM8550045. This 5th wheel...

  • Comparing Curt Double Lock and EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch for 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500
The only difference between the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C607-604 and Curt EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C611-624 for a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 is the center locator tool that comes with the EZr. This helps to drill out the center hitch ball hole but aside from that they are pretty much the same. I recommend the EZr because of the added tool but if you are a more experienced installer, you can get away without it and save some money.

  • Recommended Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500
A 16,000 lbs 5th wheel hitch would be perfect for your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500. Since your truck has the gas engine you're no where near having an 18,000 lbs capacity so paying for a hitch that has one is unnecessary. Since you have the Curt Double Lock item # C611-624 and it sounds like you also have the Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate item # C16220, I recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Slider item # C16521. Between the B&W and Curt underbed systems for your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500, I recommend the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit item # BWGNRK1016 based on B&W's reputation in the towing business, their amazing customer service, and warranty. The Curt EZr Double Lock Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch item # C611-624 has an identical towing capacity to the B&W at 30,000 lbs and installs in basically the same way. • Recommended System To Tow A Gooseneck Or Fifth Wheel Trailer With 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
I do have a system that lets you tow either a gooseneck trailer or a fifth wheel. First, you will need the EZr Double Lock Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, part # C611-624. This system gives you a gooseneck hitch in the bed of your truck with a 30,000-lb capacity. You would then need an adapter, part # C16220 to install in the gooseneck ball opening in the bed of the truck. This gives you base rails for a fifth wheel hitch like part # C16245.
