I've installed both the factory puck system (2017 F250) and the Reese Elite (2020 F250). When ordering the Reese make sure you order the inner rails (if you don't have the welded on rails, which your F250 won't). I think it's an easy install. You will have to torque everything to spec 149 ft lbs and 212 ft lbs, Have 4 people to lift take off the bed and put it back on, but it is light. Also, take off the rear bumper. First time, I left the bumper on and it made it more difficult than it should have been. Doing it without the bumper was much better. One thing on the Reese that is odd is the rubber surround on the gooseneck mount sits off the bed leaving a gap. I pushed it down so it was flush with the bed. All in all, a great alternative to the factory and gives confidence when I tow.
I did my installation by myself on a 2019 Ford F-250 long bed. Having a second person would be a big help with the lifting.
The mount arrived undamaged with all pieces included. The powder coat finish on the mount was flaking off on some edges, but I consider that cosmetic under the truck bed.
I highly recommend studying the etrailer video and Reese installation instructions beforehand. The video was especially useful and clearly a time saver.
After speaking to a Reese representative, I did not remove my truck bumper as recommended by etrailer. I think I saved time and effort by not doing so. It never was in my way.
My other exception with the etrailer video is that 6 of my 8 bed bolts did not release easily due to corrosion of the bolts and nuts beneath the bed from road deicer. Be prepared for surprises. One of the nut retainers broke free from the nut, requiring that I remove the head of the bolt using an angle grinder. Then, after removing the bed, I had to cut the bolt at the frame with a multi-tool to remove it.
Note: It’s worth having a good torque wrench and socket to remove and reset the bed bolts. If your initial bolts are difficult to release or come out corroded, stop then and buy a set of replacement retaining nuts. It’s not worth having a corroded nut fail when you torque the bed back down after installing the mount. And, I had to tap my new nuts myself to M14 x 2.0. This corroded nuts surprise cost me four extra days of having the bed off my truck.
I used my John Deere front loader as a hoist for the bed, and left the tractor parked in position while I moved the truck forward. This this made for only one moving part and took most of the guesswork out of resetting the bed.
Installing the Reese mount was a snap after getting the truck bed off. Very straightforward. No surprises at all. I feel very good about the mount now that all is installed and reassembled.
Great product and relatively “easy” install. I managed to do the job solo using a homemade gantry and an engine hoist to lift the bed.

Easy peasy. The installation was very easy. Cutting the holes in the bed had it challenge's. We had it done in 1 day. The removal of the wiring harness and the bed bolt took most of the time. Diy and saved 2k. Only reason for 4 stars because I had to do research on what the torque specs are for the bolts.
Install went well. Good directions. UPS damaged the box and the plastic trim kit was missing. Great customer service from etrailer, they shipped replacement trim kit ASAP and I had it in 3 days. I haven't towed with it yet, but it looks just like the OEM gooseneck prep.

Install was very straightforward. Very happy with my purchase.
This product saves a lot of time. We use our truck for not only towing our fifth wheel but also using the bed to carry things. It’s important that we can easily remove the fifth wheel hitch when needed. Our truck did not come with the puck system option so we installed it ourselves. After removing the truck bed it was easy to see this bolt on kit would fit perfect. To add strength we welded the rail system to the frame which adds just over 3k lbs of tow weight. The customer service rep was more than helpful and made sure this kit would be an exact fit before we ordered. The rep gave us a follow up call just after delivery which took a week. This is a heavy item so that was much faster than I thought. Overall it was an awesome purchase and I’m impressed with how much information the customer service rep provided me.
This is an awesome kit. If you do not have one already installed from the dealer this is what you want to have if you tow. I had a slide hitch fail because of the capture plate failing which caused the trailer to slam forward and back. This would have bent or destroyed the simple brackets that go over and under the bed. Now when installing it you will need to remove the bed which is very simple process, be careful because the main support is very heavy.
Item was perfect and we installed it without a problem. The only complaint I have is there needs to be an installation guide included, just to clarify which bolts, nuts and washers go where and what the torque specs are for each.
I had to order my truck without the factory hitch and puck system because of a shortage at Ford and the factory kit is made by Reese. So I ordered it from etrailer and when the truck arrives I’ll have the dealership install the puck part. Since I have the parts it’s just 4.5 hours labor and done.I can put the hitch itself together and I’ll be ready to go. I used to drive commercial truck and trailer and I like the fact that I don’t have to unlock it to hitch up the fifth wheel. It’s all ways ready to lock in.
Easy DYI install, took about 7 hrs with a couple friends.
This system is the best because there is nothing left on the bed floor when removing the hitch.

I like the product it is what I want the package was destroyed by the carrier and I spoke with Justin from etrailer, and he is getting me the missing hardware hopefully soon as I need this installed ASAP, he was courteous and helpful even though it is inconvenient as long as etrailer makes it right I am very satisfied as I have bought allot from this company over the years this is the first issue I have ever encountered
The kit showed up on time but was missing one vital piece. customer service addressed the issue and part was delivered in a timely manner
