Smooth Ride For Your Livestock

Towing work equipment presents its own challenges, but when it comes to transporting livestock, that's a whole other ball game. Without some kind of shock absorbtion that journey over bumps, potholes, and uneven terrain is going to disturb your animals and cause them anxiety. The Curt RockerBall cushioned gooseneck ball creates a safer and smoother ride for your livestock by utilizing cushioning technology to absorb some of that shock.

Shock Absorbing ShockDrop Technology

The Curt RockerBall cushioned gooseneck hitch ball features Curt's innovative ShockDrop technology, which is engineered to suppress jerking, jarring, and chucking while you're towing. A durable, polyurethane material is built into the unit and absorbs excess shock so that it doesn't transfer from the truck to your trailer or vice versa. As the head teeters back and forth on the integrated pivot point, the fore-aft motion that you experience during sudden braking or acceleration is decreased. This means that the uncomfortable jerking feeling associated with starting and stopping while towing is dramatically lessened.

The overall result is increased comfort as you tow, as well as less wear and tear on your towing setup. This means less stress on you, your truck and trailer, and your precious cargo.

Many thanks to William S. who suggested the Rockerball hitch with the 4' offset to solve my clearance problem. My offset was fine but I needed to raise the ball ~4 inches as the clearance from truck bedrails to 5th wheel overhang was only about 3 1/2 inches. Yikes. The previous owner had replaced the trailer pin box with the Reese 20K gooseneck conversion. Great - but not for my truck. The Reese was at the highest adjustement possible so I needed to raise the ball height to get acceptable clearance. Unable to find an extended shank goosneck ball for the Ram puck system.....the Rockerball hitch was the perfect solution.

I received my hitch and the box was opened and the ball was missing. I called and Tiffani took care of it and I thought I was getting just the ball but she sent a whole new set up. Not sure why someone opened the box to take the ball but etrailer helped with the issue. Thank you

I ponder that as well... But, I'm glad that Tiffani got you taken care of so you could get everything hitched up, Jason!

  • Recommended Offset Gooseneck Ball Kit for a 2024 Ram 3500
Hey Eric, the Curt Multi-Fit Ball Kit w/ 4" Offset for Chevy/Ford/GMC/Nissan Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # C68ZV is not going to work with your Ram, unfortunately. This one is only going to work for select YMM (Year Make Model) Ford 250-450s, GMC Sierra 2500-3500s, Chevy Silverado 2500-3500s, and Nissan Titan XDs. You'd instead want to check out the Curt RockerBall Multi-Fit Ball Kit w/ 4" Offset for Chevy/Ford/GMC/Nissan Gooseneck Hitch # C78ZV which is going to be the same thing you're...

  • Which One is Better the Gen-Y Offset Gooseneck Ball for Ford Puck Systems or the Curt?
Hey Eric! I do recommend the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Ford OEM Puck Systems item # GY43XR. Curt's got one item # C78ZV but I prefer Gen-Y's because of the sturdiness of it's construction. Plus the Gen-Y will give you a 5" offset over the Curt's 4". The one perk of the Curt item # C78ZV is that it's adjustable so that you can fit various puck systems. It might be a better option if you plan on switching trucks again and want to reuse the offset ball. What kind of 5th wheel...

  • Weight Distribution System For A 8,000 Pound Boat And Trailer
Hi Joe! A weight distribution hitch will definitely help the towing experience with your set up. Anything being towed that is over about half the weight of the vehicle will greatly benefit from using a weight distribution. With your boat/trailer weighing 8,000 pounds, I highly recommend grabbing one. So let's get into which one you should go with. I like the Fastway e2 systems as they are very effective and will likely last forever. For your weight, I recommend going with the Fastway...

  • Comparing Offset Gooseneck Hitch Balls For A 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500 With Reese Elite Puck System
Hey Cameron, The Reese Elite Series Under-Bed Gooseneck # RP30158-68 is the same pattern as Ford's OEM puck system spacing so you would be able to use the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Ford OEM Puck Systems # GY43XR. The Curt RockerBall Multi-Fit Ball Kit w/ 4" Offset # C78ZV (60668) would also fit and comes with Curt's RockerBall hitch ball. This helps absorb shock for a smoother ride quality. The Curt # C78ZV is adjustable so that you can fit various puck systems so it might...

  • Can I Use the Curt Rocker Ball with My Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler?
Hello Dave, Great question. Unfortunately, you cannot use a RockerBall with a Reese Goose Box because the Goose Box requires a fixed gooseneck ball, while the RockerBall has a built-in pivot mechanism that could cause instability. The Goose Box already has an air ride system, and adding a second point of movement could lead to excessive play or potential uncoupling. Manufacturers warn against using cushioned or articulating hitch balls with the Goose Box, so it's best to stick with a standard...

  • Does Curt RockerBall Multi-Fit Ball Kit Need Additional Safety Chain Loops
Hi Chris; I'm not seeing that under the tech tips no matter how I search for it but I'm guessing it was tied to an older variation/part number so it is still showing up. I'll put in a note to get it removed so there is no confusion, thanks for pointing it out. To be clear, you do not need any additional safety chain loops for the # C78ZV since they are integrated.

  • Availability of Raised Gooseneck Ball for 2024 GMC With OEM Prep Package
None of the options for the prep package are specifically designed to add height. Depending on the ball you have now you might be able to get a little more height out of the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit # BWGNXA2061. The installed height of this gooseneck ball is 5-3/4". If you can stand to have an offset then the Curt RockerBall Multi-Fit Ball Kit w/ 4" Offset # C78ZV actually sits the highest. This has an overall height of 11-3/4" so it will sit approximately 9" above the bed when...

Hey Andy, The Curt 4" Offset Ball for Double-Lock Gooseneck Hitch # C602 unfortunately isn't a fit for a factory gooseneck/puck system, but you can use the Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loops Kit for Ram Underbed Gooseneck Hitch - 30K # C60618. • Which Gooseneck Ball Should I Use for a 2025 GMC Sierra AT4 2500 w/ the OEM Puck System?
Congrats on the new truck! The Curt RockerBall Multi-Fit Ball Kit item # C78ZV will work great with the puck system in your new 2025 Sierra 2500. It's been specifically designed to work with all the OEM puck systems so the difference in positioning over the axle won't affect it's functionality or capacity. It also has built in chain loops. If you do not have the 8' bed I would recommend using the Curt RockerBall item # C78ZV over the standard Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit item #...

  • Reocmmended Curt Gooseneck Hitch for a 2025 GMC Sierra Short Bed
Richard, I'm going to assume there was a typo with the bed length, and you meant to put 61" or 6'1" making this a short bed. If that's the case, then unfortunately the Curt RockerBall Multi-Fit Ball Kit w/ 4" Offset for Factory Gooseneck Hitches # C78ZV is not going to work. Instead, for the short bed you are going to need Curt Ball and Safety Chain Loop Kit for GM/Chevy/Ford/Nissan Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C60692 if you have the prep package, or the Curt EZr Double Lock Underbed...
