Keeping your RV floors clean has never been easier than with the Sand Away. Installation of this step cover requires no tools and no hard work. Simply place the cover over the bottom step of your camper or RV and secure it in place using the included hooked springs. The Sand Away will then trap any sand, dirt, or grit from the soles of your shoes as you wipe off your feet on the step. Never again worry about tracking grime into your RV. When it's time to clean the step cover, simply spray down the Astroturf-like material with a hose and you are ready to use it again.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the safety stepping dirt-trapping step cover, part number SASSA08-00. This dirt-trapping step cover keeps your RV or camper's floors clean. With its coarse top, it'll actually scrape the dirt, debris, and grime off the bottom of your shoes and keep it from getting in your camper. It installs quick and easy and needs no tools to install. All the hardware is included. Its dimensions are 22 inches long by 8 and a quarter inches wide.
When it gets dirty, you just simply remove it, hose it off, and then you've got it. Now that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed. First thing we need to do is go ahead and grab our 4 black tabs. We'll turn our step over. We're going to put those in each one of the slots on all 4 sides. Now when we put them through, we're going to have them face up like that.
All right, now with all of our tabs in position, let's go ahead and put our step in place. I'm going to get it centered up on our RV step here. Then, I'll grab my 2 springs. Then I'm going to connect the tabs together. We'll hook this spring in the tab, run it to the front and do the same thing.
As you can see when we hook it, our tabs are conforming around our RV step. That's what we want. Let's go ahead and do the same thing for the other side. There we go. Perfect! Let's try it out.

This works great to help keep dirt and gravel out of the camper I bought one and tried it and bought another one for the middle step It is very easy to install but it has to be removed when you want to fold up the steps
Works perfect for my foldaway steps on Genesis supreme toyhauler. And as for hurting feet like some other reviews have said ,these are to clean shoes and boots not feet lol. Also don't have to remove to fold steps on my trailer. Great product!!!!
Step covers are 100 times better than the wrap around crap.
This item arrived promptly. Does not work with my RV curved metal steps. Length and width are what I needed however, the depth of the plastic fibers did not allow me to retract my RV curved metal steps.
Perfect fit, easy to install. Quality product as advertised.
Hopefully this will help keep the inside of RV cleaner.
Love that this mat is formed to my RV step. Good quality and should keep most of the dirt out. Mine was missing the mounting hardware but received it in 4 days after notifying etrailer.com with their 800 number. I would buy again when I need one.
These safety step covers are wonderful! Iv'e had then on a year and they wear like iron. They look like new. I would never buy another type of cover again.
Other step covers I have used (like from camping world) wear out in less than a year.
Good product. Connection to the step isn't as tight as tight as I'd like but took 30 seconds to install. Will still save save a lot of dirt from coming in from on the bottom of my boots. Seems like it'll last a few years for a weekend warrior. eTrailer also knocked the shipping and service out of the park. They called to verify an odd, "unverifiable" campsite address and made sure they had it shipped same day. Had it in less than 48hrs.
This is the 2nd winter we have used this cover and it has held up great. It is easier to attach and detach to the steps than the carpeted covers. It helps knock off mud and dirt that normally would be brought into the trailer.
We highly recommend this step cover.
This Sand Away is hard to find. It is the best motor home step cover made in my opinion. Glad etrailer.com carries it!

Love the product, but my last set of step covers prematurely separated at the seam. Hope these are glued better.
Purchased a Curt trailer spare tire carrier for my motor home after a recommendation by the etrailer customer service reps. On the best product for my unit. Also ordered 2 safety steps for my motor home to put total in range for free shipping. All products arrived in a timely manner, however , 1 accessory pkg. for the safety step was missing. Contacted etrailer cust. Serv. And they immediately contacted the mfg. and had it shipped to me. All products now installed and all are perfect. The recommendation on the right product for my needs, and the timely completion of my order was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend etrailer products and service and will be a customer in the future as needs arise.
This product fits well and is excellent at removing "stuff" from shoes before entering RV. However, I rated a 4 only because they are very uncomfortable for bare feet, for those of us who remove our messy shoes before entering RV.
It is exactly what it was advertised as. Fits like a glove on a step that is 11”x22”. It’s our 2nd one. We are full time rver’s so we have figured out what works and what doesn’t. The stuff that’s outside,,,,, stays outside with this step cover.

Wife loves the step covers greatly reduced tracked in dirt and gravel.
They work very well to get sand and dirt off your shoes stiff enough to get dirt out of the tread of your shoes but soft enough to still walk on bear footed
The shipping/tracking was awesome. The product fit our lower fold down step perfectly on our 2019 Northern Lite 10-2. We wanted to put one on both steps but there isn’t enough clearance when the steps are folded up FYI.
I will not use them till spring but checked and they fit perfectly. Going on the first step of a Northern Lite, which has a fold-up step. In the up position, will have to be careful of the spring connector as the step can be used in both positions. Camp on the beach and will definitely be used to keep a lot of sand out.
Haven’t installed them yet, but the ordering was simple with a minor glitch. Called and Noah was extremely helpful in solving the issue. Will continue looking at etrailer for my rv parts
