We have a couple of options for front mount hitches that will fit your 1989 Chevy K1500. First we have # 65005. With this hitch drilling is required for installation but it costs less than the other option.
That other option is Curt hitch # 31042 which does not require drilling. Either hitch is rated for 9,000 pounds line pull and 500 pounds vertical load (tongue weight). I have included links to the installation instructions for both hitches for you.

Can you tell me which of your products will work on a 2WD 1989 Suburban 2500? I would like something with a greater than 500 pound tongue weight.
