So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

  • Transmission Cooler to Correct Transmission Overheating Problems in 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 6.0 V8
The best option for your 2002 Chevy Silverado with the 6.0L V8 engine is a plate fin cooler like the Derale # D13504. The plate fin style cooler helps dissipate heat better than a tube fin style and this is the largest cooler that is going to fit in your vehicle. These are relatively easy to install and will help cool down the transmission by using the air intake from the front of the truck. You will need to add the Derale Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13018 for this to be compatible with...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Chevy 1500 with a 5.3 Liter Engine
The Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D12904 that you referenced would be a good choice for you 2003 Chevy Silverado as long as you have the necessary clearance in front of your radiator and AC condenser. This product measures 15-1/4 inches Wide x 10 inches tall x 3/4 deep. Transmission coolers are not too hard to install. I have installed a couple of them and they were not too bad at all. You may also be interested in purchasing Derale GM Radiator Adapters # D13018 so...

  • Will the Transmission Cooling Pan D14204 Fit on a 2000 GMC 4x4 1500 Sierra Pickup
I believe you are correct, the Derale Transmission Pan Cooler, # D14204, is designed for GM vehicles with 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions from 1982 to 1999 and we do not list an transmission cooler pan for the 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with 4L60 M-30 transmission. I believe the issue you will run into is that the exhaust on the vehicle, or other parts, will interfere with installation of the pan to the transmission. The pan will fit the transmission if there are no parts on the vehicle in the...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
For your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 I would recommend the larger transmission cooler part # D13504 as basically the larger the cooler you have the better, and your truck would have room for it's size of 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. For a fitting that would allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any lines you would want the part # D13018. Keeping the transmission fluid cool is the greatest way to prolong the life of the transmission as heat is a transmission's worst enemy.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2012 Chevy Traverse
First, you do not necessarily have to remove the front clip on your 2012 Chevy Traverse to install a supplemental transmission cooler. It just makes installation a lot easier if there is nothing in the way. We have not yet installed a transmission cooler on a Traverse so I do not have a video or specific instructions on removing the front clip. When our installers perform an installation they have to determine where the fasteners are that hold on the front clip (if it is a vehicle they...

  • Transmission Cooler Installation Location on a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500
Your 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 most likely has the GM 6L80 transmission. On this transmission, the bottom line on the transmission should be the return line (based on some research I did online for this transmission). You should be able to install the transmission cooler like you have described provided you have enough hose to reach. If you install it at the steel lines then you can use a hose fitting, # D13018 for the 4.3 liter or # D13035 for any of the larger motors, so you will not...

  • Derale D13504 Transmission Cooler Installation on a 1993 Chevy G-30 Van
There are not specific installation instructions when it comes to installing transmission coolers, but there are basic guidelines for installing one that are pretty universal. The first step for installing this Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13504, on your 1993 Chevy G-30 van with A/C is finding the best location for mounting the cooler. If you mount the cooler in front of the radiator, you will get the most cooling efficiency from the cooler, whereas it...

  • Can the Derale Stacked-Plate Transmission Cooler Kit Be Mounted in Any Direction or Orientation
The inlet and outlet on transmission coolers can be oriented in any direction you like and because the cooler is a flow through device you can use either port as the inlet or outlet, whichever makes the installation easier and uses the least amount of hose. The one thing you want to be sure of, is that the cooler is mounted so that most air flows through it, usually in the same orientation as your radiator. The best installation location is as far forward as possible in front of the radiator,...

  • Fitting Adapter Needed to Install Remote Derale Transmission Cooler in 2004 Chevy Silverado
The correct fitting for installing a Derale transmission cooler in your 2004 Chevy Silverado is the part # D13018 to install the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13960. This cooler has a thermostat as well. You would want to route this from your current radiator's transmission cooler so that it goes through the factory cooler and then finally to this cooler. That is what the fitting allows you to easily do.

If you are pulling a trailer under the towing capacities of your 2008 GMC Sierra 1500, the engine temperature of the truck should not overheat. I would recommend having the vehicle looked over by your GMC dealership. What I would recommend is adding a combination transmission and oil cooler, as well as a cooling fan.
