So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

A must have .just wish I had got my trans cooler from etrailer they are a great company .so if you gonna put a trans cooler own you GM truck take my word for it you best go to trailer! Won't be sorry, thanks

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.
Installed and working perfectly.

by:

Worked just as needed

by:

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

Exact fit for my 2000 Chevy Silverado. What a time saver. I am glad that etrailer suggested these.

by:

Just received my order today. I haven't installed the parts yet. They appear to be high quality though.

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2004 Cadillac Escalade ESV 6.0L Engine
For your 2004 Cadillac Escalade ESV with the 6.0L V8 engine, I recommend looking at the Derale Transmission Cooler # D13503. This is an excellent plate-fin cooler that will help to prolong the life of your transmission, providing more efficient cooling, especially when towing up those mountain passes. The cooler itself measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inch deep. I just recommend making sure that you have the needed space available between the Escalade's grille and AC...

  • Transmission Pan Cooler for a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 5.3 Liter with 4L60E M-30 Transmission
Derale Transmission Pan Cooler, # D14204, is designed for GM vehicles with 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions from 1982 to 1999 and we do not list an transmission pan cooler for the 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with 4L60 M-30 transmission. The issue you could run into is that the exhaust on the vehicle, or other components, could interfere with installation of the pan cooler. What I recommend is to go with the most efficient and largest standard transmission cooler available that will fit in front...

  • Should 2007 GMC Sierra Classic be Put in 4WD When Towing a Heavy Load Long Distance
I checked out the online version of the owner's manual and it looks like for your 2007 GMC Sierra Classic then you want to use the Tow/Haul mode for heavy towing and/or shift the transmission to 3rd or lower if it is shifting too often. Aside from that though it doesn't state anything about 4WD so I wouldn't worry about it. You may consider adding a transmission cooler like the Derale # D13502 to help keep your transmission from overheating and making your engine work harder. If you have...

  • WhichTransmission Cooler Fittings for a 2007 GMC Truck
I spoke with my contact at the manufacturer and he said that there are 3 main types of fittings that GM used during that year and that it was more or less random for the GM trucks so you may need any one of the three types. The three types are the fittings that were used are the fitting supplied with the cooler, a snap in style fitting, item # D13035, and the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, item # D13018. I believe the last style of fitting is the fitting your truck will need....

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
You mentioned wanting the best cooler for your 2003 Chevy Silverado. The best, as in the most amount of cooling, is going to be a remote cooler with its own fan like # D13960. It does not matter where this cooler gets mounted because its fan offers the optimum amount of cooling all the time. Otherwise for a standard cooler that would require air flow I recommend # D13105. Its large surface area will provide plenty of cooling for your trucks transmission. To avoid cutting and flaring lines...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2011 Chevy Silverado
You are a little on the warm side for your transmission fluid. If you can keep it under 200 degrees you will have the max life out of it. That being said transmissions really start to go downhill at 260 degrees. The Derale cooler part # D13503 with the install fitting part # D13018 is the most popular option for your 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 and would work well. I attached an install video that shows the cooler installed in a similar GM vehicle.

Yes, you can run this Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13502, in series with the factory transmission cooler that is on your 2002 Chevy 2500HD. A lot of people do this and it should help bring your transmission fluid temperatures down. You will want to route the transmission fluid through the factory cooler first, and then through the # D13502, and finally back to your transmission. Routing the coolers in that order is crucial, if you were to run the # D13502...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation # D13504 for a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 4.8L V8
In most cases the stock transmission cooler is adequate at best on vehicles when not pulling a trailer. If you are planning on towing 5,000-6,000 lbs you will want a transmission cooler to prolong the life of the transmission in your 2003 Chevy Silverado LS 1500 2WD with a 4.8L V8. You will want to do some measuring to see what will fit in front of your radiator but in most cases you will want to go with the biggest transmission cooler you can fit there. The item you selected, Derale Transmission Cooler # D13504, is a fit for your 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe but you would need to find a mounting location. With such a large cooler you may have to find a different location other then behind the front grille. Mounting the transmission cooler behind the grille, in front of the AC core is the most ideal and efficient cooling location to mount it,. The other locations would be between condenser and radiator, and between the radiator and engine. Since...

  • Can a Supplemental Transmission Cooler be Used to Bypass Factory Cooler on 1996 Chevy K1500
A lot of people want to bypass the factory transmission coolers located inside the radiator. It is permissible to do so provided that the cooler is efficient enough. For this we recommend either going with the largest cooler that will fit in the engine compartment or the most efficient design. The most efficient design is a stacked plate such as # D13403. It measures 11" wide x 8-7/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep. Yes, you can bypass the auxiliary transmission cooler on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 but you will need an adapter to do so, the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM part # D13018 which goes straight on the radiator and allows you to hook up the new lines without any splicing.
