So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Worked just as needed

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.

by:

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

  • 1999 Chevy C3500 Transmission Will Not Shift Into Overdrive While Towing
Overdrive is not usually something that you would need to use when towing. Also if your truck has a tow/haul button that you press when towing then it likely shuts off overdrive. If this is something new the truck started doing then there are some things to look at. The first thing I recommend doing is checking the transmission fluid level for your 1999 Chevy C3500. If the fluid is low then it might not have enough cooling power. If the fluid is full and looks good then the cooler you...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD
Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific so you can install any one that will fit including # D13504. For the 6.0 liter engine you may need fitting # D13035. If you have a hard metal line and do not want to use the fitting, you could cut the metal line, flare it, and use hose clamps. The transmission cooler comes with hose, clamps, and mounting hardware. It also includes an Insta-dapt radiator adapter. This adapter is if you have a rubber line, not a metal line, so you can use the...

  • Troubleshooting Transmission Fluid And Engine Coolant Mixing On 2003 Cadillac CTS
Sorry to hear about the problems with your brother's 2003 Cadillac. The first thing you will want to do is have the transmission taken care of. I am not aware of a separate cooler for the transmission located under the intake manifold. Typically what is used is a line that runs from the transmission to the radiator. The radiator holds engine coolant and the transmission fluid line is run inside the radiator as well. The radiator cools both the engine coolant and the transmission fluid...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendations for a 1985 Pontiac Firebird
The Derale transmission pan cooler # D14204 will fit a 1985 Pontiac Firebird if it has the 2.5 liter or 3.8 liter engine AND the 700R4, 4L60, or 4L60E transmission. You will not need a longer filter or spacer when using this pan cooler. In fact this transmission pan cooler fits most 1982-1999 model 4L60Es. Some models may require a smaller transmission filter to get it to fit. If you are looking for more efficient cooling I recommend a regular transmission cooler that mounts under the...

  • Need Threaded Radiator Adapter to Install Transmission Cooler Lines on 2000 GMC Sierra 5.3 Engine
We offer radiator adapter fittings for the 2000 GMC Sierra to allow installation of a transmission cooler without having to cut and flare lines. Derale part # D13018 is a set of two 5/8-inch inverted flare fittings, one male and one female. If you do not already have a transmission cooler you can choose the largest size that will fit in the space available for mounting; coolers are not actually vehicle-specific. The linked article provides a lot of useful information about types of coolers...

  • Where is the Transmission Return Line on a GMC Sonoma
I really wish I knew exactly which transmission line on your GMC Sonoma was the return line but unfortunately, I do not have this information. However, if you drive the vehicle around the block and then grab each of the two transmission lines that lead in and out of the radiator that should give you a very good idea of which is which. The return line should be considerably cooler. Please note that in order to install a transmission cooler on a GMC Sonoma you may also need to use the Derale...

According to Derale, the correct fitting to install the D13504 cooler in your 2009 Traverse would be part # D13035, if the return transmission line is attached to the radiator using an E-clip. You would need two of them. If the connection does not use an E-clip, you would need to use a compression fitting. The correct fitting will depend on the outside diameter of your transmission lines. • Transmission Cooler for 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD
Thanks for your kind words! I'd recommend going with a transmission cooler. Unless you live in a far northern location that has freezing temperatures most of the year, we typically recommend going with the largest transmission cooler that will fit in the available space on the front of your radiator directly behind the grille. I'd recommend the Derale # D13504 which measures 11x12 inches which would provide plenty of cooling. If you have 5/8 inch hex fittings on your transmission lines,...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500 6.0 Liter
Adding a supplemental cooler is a good idea, but you do not have to replace the factory one unless there is something wrong with it. You can add an additional cooler to work with the factory cooler for the optimum amount of cooling. When looking at transmission coolers I recommend going with the largest one that will fit in the available space in the engine compartment. There are 3 main locations a cooler can go: the most efficient is in front of the air conditioner condenser core/directly...

  • Transmission Cooler For 2003 Chevy Express 1500 For Towing
The transmission cooler I recommend for your 2003 Chevy Express 1500 is the Derale Series 8000, which is the following part number: - Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503 I like the # D13503 because of its efficiency; it is a plate-and-fin cooler, which means it uses smaller plates that cover more area than other coolers in order to agitate transmission fluid. Because you cannot over-cool fluids, the rule of thumb with transmission coolers is that size matters...

Since you will be towing in the mountains, which is hard on a transmission, I would recommend getting the largest, highest rated transmission cooler that will fit your vehicle. You cannot over cool a transmission. The ideal install location would be in front of the radiator and A/C condenser, right behind the grille. Your 1997 Suburban K2500 4x4 has a 10000 lbs max trailer weight according to your owner's manual, so you cannot pull a 12,000 lb fully loaded trailer. You can pull the 12,000 lb capacity trailer at a maximum load of 10,000 lbs. There are hitches that are available as you stated that rated higher than your vehicle capacity. Unfortunately that only means that the trailer hitch receiver can handle that weight, not that your vehicle's transmission, engine, and suspension can handle that weight....

  • Recommendation for Cooling the Coolant and Transmission Fluid Temperature on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche
For the radiator coolant temperature, I recommend adding a supplemental fan or fans depending on how much space you have under the hood. There is no limit to the amount of fans you can have. A pusher fan, mounted in front of the radiator pushing air through it, would be the most efficient (provided that the factory fan is mounted on the same side and pushes air through in the same direction). A puller fan would be used on the other side of the radiator to pull air through. The largest electric...
