Question:
Hi, I have a 2003 Chevy express 1500 with a 5.3L. What transmission cooler and install parts would you recommend for towing a 6,000 lb travel trailer? The transmission lines are snap in quick connect with a c clip. Thank you

The transmission cooler I recommend for your 2003 Chevy Express 1500 is the Derale Series 8000, which is the following part number:
- Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503
I like the # D13503 because of its efficiency; it is a plate-and-fin cooler, which means it uses smaller plates that cover more area than other coolers in order to agitate transmission fluid. Because you cannot over-cool fluids, the rule of thumb with transmission coolers is that size matters so the large 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep Series 8000 is going to give you great cooling efficiency.
The only other thing you may need, if your Chevy is equipped with a 5/8" hex on the trans line, are the Adapter Fittings for GM # D13018.
