So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

Won't be sorry, thanks

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.

by:

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

  • WhichTransmission Cooler Fittings for a 2007 GMC Truck
I spoke with my contact at the manufacturer and he said that there are 3 main types of fittings that GM used during that year and that it was more or less random for the GM trucks so you may need any one of the three types. The three types are the fittings that were used are the fitting supplied with the cooler, a snap in style fitting, item # D13035, and the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, item # D13018. I believe the last style of fitting is the fitting your truck will need....

  • Transmission Cooler for a GM K3500 Pickup Truck with a 6.5 Liter Diesel
We generally recommend going with the largest cooler that will fit in the space available in the engine compartment. The Most popular cooler for the K series with the 6.5 liter is # D13503 that you have referenced. It measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep. You can get more cooling efficiency using a stacked plate cooler. I would go with # D13403. Even though it is smaller the stacked plate design is more efficient so it is rated higher than the plate fin coolers. You...

  • Recommendation for Cooling the Coolant and Transmission Fluid Temperature on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche
For the radiator coolant temperature, I recommend adding a supplemental fan or fans depending on how much space you have under the hood. There is no limit to the amount of fans you can have. A pusher fan, mounted in front of the radiator pushing air through it, would be the most efficient (provided that the factory fan is mounted on the same side and pushes air through in the same direction). A puller fan would be used on the other side of the radiator to pull air through. The largest electric...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler For 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3L V8 323 Cubic Inch Engine
For your 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, I think you are on the right track with the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503 you asked this question from. It is 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep. For your specific application, I recommend a plate-fin cooler like the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV - Efficient, # D13504. This plate-fin style provides increased surface area for the plates to cool faster. This transmission...

  • Best Transmission Cooler for a 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD with 6.0L V8 Engine
For your 2003 GMC Sierra 2500HD with the 6.0L V8 engine, I highly recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13504. This 8000 series cooler measures 11" wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep which will be a good fit for your truck. You can expect temperature drops anywhere from 20-30 degrees fahrenheit while using this cooler which will dramatically increase the life of your transmission. Installation is very simple as you can see in the attached video but you will...

  • What Adapters Are Needed To Install Transmission Cooler on 2009 GMC Sierra
For installation of a transmission cooler on your 2009 GMC Sierra with the 4.3L V6 engine you will use the Derale Radiator Adapter, part # D13018. If you have the V8 engine ( 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L) you will use the Derale Radiator Adapter, part # D13035. I have posted a photo to show the typical transmission cooler installation. For your Sierra you will use the correct Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings (# D13018, or # D13035) for the engine you have, then install the adapter in the radiator...

For the 5.7L V8 engine in your 1998 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup, I recommend taking a look at the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13504. This transmission cooler features a plate-fin technology which is one of the most efficient types of transmission coolers. The larger surface area (132 c.i.) will do an excellent job of keep the transmission fluid cool while towing your camper. The best place to install this cooler would be in front of the radiator/condensor...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System For 1997 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 w/ 10,000 lb Towing Capacity
Your 1997 Suburban K2500 4x4 has a 10000 lbs max trailer weight according to your owner's manual, so you cannot pull a 12,000 lb fully loaded trailer. You can pull the 12,000 lb capacity trailer at a maximum load of 10,000 lbs. There are hitches that are available as you stated that rated higher than your vehicle capacity. Unfortunately that only means that the trailer hitch receiver can handle that weight, not that your vehicle's transmission, engine, and suspension can handle that weight....

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 GMC Yukon XL 2500 6.0 Liter
Adding a supplemental cooler is a good idea, but you do not have to replace the factory one unless there is something wrong with it. You can add an additional cooler to work with the factory cooler for the optimum amount of cooling. When looking at transmission coolers I recommend going with the largest one that will fit in the available space in the engine compartment. There are 3 main locations a cooler can go: the most efficient is in front of the air conditioner condenser core/directly...

Part # D13018 comes with a quantity of 2 which you will need to install a transmission cooler on your vehicle. In regards to your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, if you will be removing the auxiliary transmission cooler then I recommend using the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13614 to replace it. This cooler measures 11" wide x 11-3/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep which you should have plenty of space for. • Should 2007 GMC Sierra Classic be Put in 4WD When Towing a Heavy Load Long Distance
I checked out the online version of the owner's manual and it looks like for your 2007 GMC Sierra Classic then you want to use the Tow/Haul mode for heavy towing and/or shift the transmission to 3rd or lower if it is shifting too often. Aside from that though it doesn't state anything about 4WD so I wouldn't worry about it. You may consider adding a transmission cooler like the Derale # D13502 to help keep your transmission from overheating and making your engine work harder. If you have...

If you do towing, hauling, or are otherwise looking to get the most life out of your transmission then adding a supplemental cooler would be a great idea. Cooler # D13504 is a good choice. • 1999 Chevy C3500 Transmission Will Not Shift Into Overdrive While Towing
Overdrive is not usually something that you would need to use when towing. Also if your truck has a tow/haul button that you press when towing then it likely shuts off overdrive. If this is something new the truck started doing then there are some things to look at. The first thing I recommend doing is checking the transmission fluid level for your 1999 Chevy C3500. If the fluid is low then it might not have enough cooling power. If the fluid is full and looks good then the cooler you...

You cannot over cool a transmission. The ideal install location would be in front of the radiator and A/C condenser, right behind the grille. The # D13102 you mentioned will provide some cooling, but due to the fact that you will be towing up and down mountains, it would be too small for your needs. The largest...
