Worked very well with the 1/4" metal loom clamp, item #A0250 to keep the power wire for the Tow Ready Trailer Wiring in place and away from moving parts

by:

Did the job.

by:

This was recommended in another comment by an etrailer employee to use to attach part # BK70BB - Trailer Light Mounting Bracket to the curt cargo carrier. These screws were way too small for that usage. I ended up using some 1/4 inch self-drilling screws that I had and added these to my stash.

I agree with Rick, these screws DO NOT fit part BK70BB - Trailer Light Mounting Bracket

by:

It's a screw

Products arrived quickly and were exactly what we ordered for rewiring our trailer as follows: 35 ft 4-way trailer wiring harness with 42" ground wire; metal loom clamps; wire loom and hex screws with wash heads. This company has a very good selection with good prices and economy shipping.

These screws were recommended by etrailer and worked perfectly for mounting hose clamps on the underbody of our minivan!

by:

Ordered a pile of stuff to do a complete trailer rewire.... all was perfect!! I'll be back for my next project!

by:

Ordered several towing and cargo products for a pending trip in 4 days! Great communication from the eTrailer team (George and Jamie) on delivery dates, etc. One product was not available in the warehouse, but eTrailer contacted the mfr and had them drop ship with express delivery to meet my timing needs. Really no effort on my part to get this great service -- just seems to be the way they operate. I keep ordering from them, and they keep exceeding expectations. Way to go! A+++

  • Installing a Brake Controller in 2001 Toyota Tacoma
Based on my research, the 2001 Toyota Tacoma did not come with a factory trailer connector. However, since you already have a 4-way connector installed on your truck, you will be able to start here for your brake controller installation. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885. This is a proportional brake controller with a digital display. It will level automatically when mounted within a 360-degree vertical range. The brake controller installs in your Tacoma...

  • Recommended 2 Wire LED Marker Lights for 2015 Four Winds Siesta RV
For your 2015 Four Winds Siesta RV, I recommend the Rectangular LED Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Light with Reflex Reflector- Amber # MCL32ABB and Red # MCL32RBB. These are both 2 wire LED lights that will allow you to add marker lights to your current system without issue. You can simply splice these into your current wiring to add the additional lights you desire. For connection, I recommend # 16-1-1 wire and heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-10.

  • Best Way To Attach Trailer Plug Bracket To A Trailer Hitch Without A Pre Welded Bracket
As far as the mounting bracket, you can absolutely screw it directly to the hitch if you want. We do this frequently in our own installs and it will not compromise the strength of the hitch in any way. Now putting a few holes in the hitch does open up the potential for rust, since we are compromising the powder coating, but the risk is small. You could use the bracket # BK4F for a 4-flat or use the # C67UR for a 7 way, and a self tapping screw like # 101131802. If you do not want to drill...

  • Recommended Mounting Hardware For The Optronics Clearance Lights MC44AB1
For mounting a clearance light I recommend using a few self tapping screws. Preferably a # 10 or # 8 screw like the # 101131802. You will also want some butyl tape # QR59FR, to weatherproof the screw holes. Hardware for these is basically generic and it really comes down to what surface you are mounting to. Optronics does not sell a hardware kit specifically for the # MCL44AB1 or # MCL44RB1.

  • Dragon's Eye LED Clearance or Side Marker Light Colors and Mounting Hardware
Yes, the Dragon's Eye LED Clearance or Side Marker Light is available in Amber # DG52440VP as well as Red # DG52441VP. When we installed this on a trailer we used the #8 x 1/2" Hex Screw # 101131802 which is great for metal installations. If you'll be installing these on a different type of surface you'll need to use the appropriate screw type.

  • Replacement Trailer Lights for Shorelandr Boat Trailer
The Optronics Tall Rectangle Submersible LED Trailer Tail Light, part # STL56RB, should work on your Shoreland'r trailer. The same light for the left side of the trailer is the Optronics Submersible LED Trailer Tail Light, part # STL57RB. We have gotten back many reviews of these lights working just fine on Shoreland'r trailers. I will give you the dimensions of the lights so you can make sure they will fit your trailer. The light is 6-1/16 inches long x 3-5/8 inches wide x 2-1/4 inches...

  • Wiring Replacement 5-Pole Trailer Connector on 2012 Ranger Trailer
You can use a standard 5-pole trailer connector, you'll just need to wire it a certain way. The # HM47900 you referenced is the vehicle side connector, you need the trailer side connector like part # HM47910, which would wire as shown in the provided photo. The red wire you mention is for the reverse lockout on the trailer coupler, and is tied in with the reverse lamp circuit of the vehicle. Both brown wires would connect to the brown wire of the trailer connector. The yellow and green...

  • Installing Electric Brakes on a Vehicle Tow Dolly
You have a 3500 pound axle, with a 4-bolt axle flange, spaced 4” apart each. You also have tires and wheels with a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. To put brakes on your West Texas Dolly # WTD-35D you will need a left and right trailer brake kit like the etrailer # AKEBRK-35 rated for 3,500 pounds, and 10” x 2-1/4” brake pads. Mounting bolts are included but nuts and lock washers # BRKH10B are not. If it were me I would purchase the etrailer # AKEBRK-35-SA self adjusting brakes so that I would...

  • Why Do Trailer Lights Flicker When Hitting Bumps
In order to fix the issue with your lights flickering you will want to pick a good spot on the trailer frame near the coupler and then run a ground wire from each of the lights as well as the trailer connector to this point. If you need to extend the wires you can use part # DW02359-1 and part # DW05744-5. Once you find a good ground point, sand the surface down, twist the wires together after you have removed part of the jacket, and then attach it to the sanded surface with part # DW05741-1...

  • How to Install a Three Wire Trailer Light
It sounds like your current lights with 2 wires ground to the trailer by the mounting hardware. The One LED RV Passenger Tail Light # RVSTL0060 has three wires, the white wire is the ground, the black wire is the taillight and the green wire is for your stop lights and turn signals. To hook up your lights you will need to splice together the taillight and stop/turn wires. Then you will need to take the white wire and ground it to the trailer itself. To ground your wire you will want to...

  • Does LED Trailer Fender Clearance Light Need a Ground Wire That Goes to Wiring Box?
You do not have to connect the ground wire of the LED Trailer Fender Clearance Light # MCL180ARB to your main ground that goes to the wiring box. What you can do is use a ring terminal such as # 44-5310A and screw like # 101131802 and ground it to your trailer frame close to where the light is.

  • How to Connect the Ground Wire on a 4-Way Flat Wiring Harness
The Hopkins Endurance 4-way Flat Trailer End Connector, # HM48110, that you referenced is the harness that goes on a trailer, not a vehicle. The 4-way connector for your vehicle is the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Vehicle End Connector, # HM48030. You can connect the white ground wire from the wiring harness to a vehicle ground, but you should verify that the white wire on your vehicle is in fact a ground wire. In most cases the white wire from the wiring harness is attached to a clean,...

  • Will the 1/2 Inch Metal Loom Clamps Work On a 5/16 Inch Frame Rail
Yes, the Metal Loom Clamp part # A0500 will work on a trailer frame that is 5/16" thick. The Metal Loom Clamp will actually work on pretty much any frame thickness but you will need to make note of the size screw used. I recommend the Hex Screw part # 101131802 for a 5/16" thick frame as it is 1/2" long. The Wire Loom part # 459075 can then be added to protect your wiring. I have attached a list of our other wiring accessories for you below as well.

  • Locating the CHMSL and Interior Light Wire to Wire SnugTop Shell on 2000 Chevrolet Silverado
I can help you wire up your SnugTop Shell to your Silverado but there are no direct connectors to do this, you will have to hardwire it into your vehicles lighting circuits. There are a couple of places you can access a dedicated brake light only circuit on your 2000 Chevy Silverado. First, you can tap into the circuit behind the third brake light on the cab of the truck. The brake light wire might also be located in the back of the vehicle. • Both Turn Signals Flash at The Same Time
The cause of both turn signal lights flashing together would almost certainly be attributed to a poor ground. There are several grounds you will want to check which include one for each light, the trailer side trailer connector and the vehicle side trailer connector. One of these locations will more than likely contain the problem you are experiencing. It is important to make sure each ground is attached to a bare metal surface. It may be necessary to undo the ground wire and then use some...

We also have an LED kit, # TLL9RK. Step 1 - The trailer connector should extend 2 - 3 feet past the tongue. Connect the white ground wire to your trailer's frame. You'll want to make sure that the spot you choose for grounding is a clean, bare, surface that is free from rust. It does sound like you have a poor ground on the trailer wiring. That is the most common reason for lighting to act erratically like you described. The ground of your trailer wiring needs to be attached to a clean bare metal surface of your vehicle. The circuit tester will still show power on the functions because it has power but if the ground is bad the functions will still not work correctly. • Right Hand Tail Light Goes Out When Vehicles Headlights Are On
I am assuming that you mean the right hand trailer tail light goes out when you turn the headlights on in the vehicle. If that is the case then this sounds like a ground issue. In order to remedy this you are going to need to reground each tail light assembly and both the vehicle side and trailer side trailer connectors. The tail light assemblies will ground via a single wire or the mounting hardware. If they ground with a single wire then you will want to remove the wire, sand down the...
