by:

This is almost all of what's needed to install the Autowbrake. I rated 5 stars because the essentials are there, and provide guides when running to the hardware store to buy more ring terminals. The box itself is well built. I didn't use any of the weather-tight crimp connectors. The lack of mounting screws I can understand, because different ones are needed for mounting on metal than wood. I used 1.5" long self-tapping metal screws to mount onto my trailer's tongue.

This box has plenty of room to mount the Autowbrake wiring and the wiring from two 7 way cables. I chopped off the existing 7 way plug and purchased a new plug/cable to have enough wire for installation.

Good kit, but maybe some more ring terminals instead of the weather tight crimp connectors would be nice.

etrailer is an amazing company. This was the very first time I placed an order with etrailer and it was way above and beyond my expectations. Everything I needed for my trailer was in stock. I placed my order on a Sunday night and it was shipped for FREE the following day. My order was delivered 4 days later in excellent condition with the correct items that I ordered. It was easy to track my order from the warehouse to my front door from the shipping email that I received from etrailer. Thanks for the great experience! You will always have my business!! Yes, it is possible to use the Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 on your 5th wheel trailer being towed by your 2013 Ram 3500. The Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller # 3430001 wires to the junction box on your trailer and will work for your 5th wheel as long as it does not have more than 3 axles. If your 5th wheel does not have a junction box, you can use the Junction Box and Installation Kit for Autowbrake Trailer-Mounted Electric Brake Controller # 3430001-JBK.

  • Recommended 7 way Connector for 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan Using Autowbrake
The Autowbrake # 3430001 is a great choice! To add a 7 way to your 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan you'll want to use the # ETBC7L, since it doesn't require the wiring of a brake wire into the vehicle like the # ETBC7. You will still need to run a wire for the 12v power, but other than than it's going to be really easy to install since it plugs into your existing 4 way. To complete installation of the Autowbrake I recommend using the Junction Box and Installation Kit for Autowbrake Trailer-Mounted...

The best way to make your Freightliner compatible with a trailer 7-Way is to test the functions with a circuit tester # PTW2993 and match sure they match. I'm attaching pin-out diagrams of both the trailer and vehicle 7-Ways that you can use as a guide to make your connections - just be sure to wire everything up by function and not by the wire color. In order to achieve your goal of not splicing into the factory trailer wiring harness we are basically going to create a wiring harness for the flatbed which would plug into the factory trailer connector. The Cargo Carrier Light Kit # 52014 is a good light kit but I you might consider looking at the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights # C53201 instead because they install by via adhesive instead of brackets and the lights have connectors that will be a little easier to disconnect. When it comes to adding a 4-Way wiring to the back of your R-Pod I recommend using the Junction Box Kit # 3430001-JBK on the tongue of your trailer.
