  • Recommended E-Tracks and Straps for Towing a 4,000 lbs Car
Yes, they are Lyndon and thanks for the pictures! The etrailer E Track Wheel Tie-Down Straps item # e62NR and the Erickson E-Chock Wheel Chock item # EM09162 are designed to attach to the Erickson Horizontal E Track item # EM59150. These componets combined will have no issues securing your 4,000 lbs car. Thanks for the review. I double checked after reading it. That failure definitely sounds like user error. I always recommend using the etrailer E-Track Backing Plates w/ Hardware item...

  • Mounting Suggestion For E-track To Aluminum Utility Trailer
For your Aluma 6810 HBT trailer, I recommend the Erickson Horizontal E-Track - Zinc Coated Steel - 2,000 lbs - 5' Long - Qty 1 # E19148 along with the E-Track Backing Plate - Zinc Plated Steel - 6" Long x 6" Wide # e96RR. This will save you the expense of the dual track and will allow you the flexibility of plates between the braces or around them. This track also comes in 4 foot # EM19147, and 2 foot # EM59150. I recommend using the E-Track Plastic End Cap # ET8730 to finish your tracks. For...

  • Can E-Track be Installed in Car Hauler for Multiple Car Widths
You can install the Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148 in any manner you like, so for a car hauler that has cars of different widths you can place E-track side-by-side, as you can see one of our customers did in the accompanying photo. This E-track is only 5-1/8" wide so you can install numerous different tracks to meet as many widths as possible. For additional support I do recommend using the E-Track Backing Plate # BPEZ during your install. This would be the best option and then you...

  • Can Horizontal E-Tracks be Used with Erickson Wood Beam Sockets # 59149
You can absolutely use the Horizontal E-Tracks # EM59150 that you referenced in your enclosed trailer with 4 of the Wood Beam Sockets # 59149 to create a shelf. There isn't any structural benefit to using vertical E-tracks for this application over the horizontal tracks you are wanting to use. Vertical mount tracks would just allow for a bit more versatility as you could lower or raise the shelf if desired (but in your setup you could move it forward or back). The holes on the brackets...

  • Recommendations for Anchoring E-Track to a Ply-Wood Trailer Floor
It depends on how much load you will be applying to the track, what you are holding with it, and how the trailer frame is made. If you can get to the trailer frame, use nuts and bolts to attach through the floor and the metal trailer frame. If you are using it to secure an ATV or 4-wheeler, mount the track where the ATV tires will rest on it and the weight of the ATV will hold the track down. This way you would only need a handful of attachment points just to keep the track from sliding. If...

  • Can E-Tracks Be Used to Secure Vehicles in Car Hauler
Yes, E-tracks are used quite a bit for car hauler applications like what you have so as long as you secure them well like the Erickson E-Track part # EM59150 you'd be fine. We have wheel straps too for E-Track like the part # 77314 which would work well. Each of these has a 1,166 lb capacity.

  • Best Method of Attaching E-Track
You can mount the E-Track Trailer Cargo Control, # EM59150, using wood screws if the mounting surface is wood. If it is sheet metal, I would use sheet metal screws. Basically, match the screw with the material you are mounting to. There is no recommended way of installing the E-Track as installation is the responsibility of each individual installer. The more points you can contact the trailer frame, the more secure the spare tire will be. You might also want to consider using a backing...

  • Where to Install E-Tracks in Enclosed Trailer Carrying Polaris ATV and Motorcycles
Since you will be using your E-Track system, part # E19148, for transporting more than one type of vehicle, you will want to try to find mounting locations that will work for all of them. The main consideration for deciding where to mount the E-Tracks is to select locations that provide access to structural components, such as wall studs and floor supports. These structural elements of your trailer will serve as the backbone of your E-Track system. It is important that the tracks mount...

  • Recommended Attachment Method for E-Track in a Trailer with 1/8 inch Thick Steel Floor
For installing the E-track like part # EM59150 that you referenced I would use self tapping screws in every other hole of the track. This is a 2 foot section of the E-track. If you needed a 5 foot section you would also want the part # E19148. For a D-ring that is designed to fit the E-track you would want the part # E59143.

  • Recommended E-Track Setup For Securing Side-By-Side In A Travel Trailer
If you plan to use the track exclusively for securing a side by side, I do recommend using E-track for this purpose. It will be plenty strong to support a side by side, and you will be able to get wheel chock and tie down kits that will work nicely. You can either use a few long continuous section of e track like the # e52VR which is 94" long, or you can do individual smaller sections like the # EM59150 which is 2 feet long. Personally I would prefer the individual smaller sections. They...

  • How To Attach the Erickson Horizontal E-Tracks To Wood Deck Boards
In order to attach the deck boards to your open trailer, I recommend using 1/2" carriage bolts. These carriage bolts can be either zinc plated or made of stainless steel. They will need to run though both the deck board and trailer frame. In order to then attach the Erickson Horizontal E-Track part # EM59150 so you can use the Erickson ATV E-Track Tie-Down Kit w/ Ratchet Straps and Wheel Chocks part # EM09160, I recommend using standard grade 5 or higher 1/4" hex head bolts along with the...

  • Can E-Track Attach Directly to Wood Floor with Wood Screws
If you wanted to install E-track like the # EM59150 directly to a wood floor using wood screws you could but you'd want to put a screw in each mounting hole like you mentioned. This attachment method would easily allow the track to have it's full capacity of 2,000 lbs.

  • Determining Spacing of E-Tracks for Vehicle Transport
I really wish there was an easy answer as to a safe track spacing with the Erickson E-Tracks # EM59150 to accommodate most vehicles, but the truth is that there are just too many possible widths to comfortably answer this without actually figuring out the tire widths on the particular vehicle you plan on hauling. Your best option is really to figure out the tire width on your vehicle and install the tracks accordingly on the trailer. The Erickson Wheel- Tie-Down Strap # EM58523 that you...

You would be more than okay to run two tie downs off of one the E-Track Tie-Off Ring part # 59131 that you referenced. Each of these has a 4,000 lb capacity which would be more than enough for what you are doing. Your plan to use 9 of the E-Tracks # EM59150 with the # 59131 like the drawing you sent in would work perfectly. For backing plates you could use the part # e96RR. I attached an install video for the E-track for you to check out as well.

If you used wood screws in every hole of the E-track part # EM59150 that you referenced you'd have enough capacity to secure your 900 lb motorcycle. There isn't a one-size-fits-all method for installing the E-tracks but for your situation and what you are wanting to do using every screw hole with wood screws would be adequate.

  • Mounting E-Track for Hauling Motorcycle on 8 x 5 Trailer
That's a great question. I believe your installation method for the Erickson Horizontal E-Track # EM59150 sounds like a great plan as long as you have the tracks facing the direction of travel. Basically the E-Track was designed around this and that is the most safe way to secure cargo. To secure your 900 lb bike you can either use the Erickson E-Track Tie-Off w/ D-Ring # E59143 with your current ratchet straps or you can update to the Erickson E-Track Strap with Ratchet # EM59136 which...

  • Can Erickson E-Track Be Used on Exposed Deck of Open Utility Trailer
Erickson E-Track Cargo Control items like # EM59150, # E19148 and # E19146 are not painted but rather they are given a zinc coating treatment to provide corrosion resistance since they are made of steel. These are perfectly suitable for use on the deck of an open trailer. Be sure to use appropriate non-corrosive galvanized hardware to install the tracks. No fewer than 2 fasteners per linear foot (on each side) are required.

  • E-Track Recommendations For 7 By 14 Enclosed Trailer To Carry Classic Motorcycles
With cargo like your two classic Harleys you will want to make sure they are really well secured to prevent any damage. I recommend securing the E-Tracks to something more stable than just wood. If you are attaching the tracks to the floor I recommend you make sure they are secured either to the metal structure of the trailer or use metal plates like the E-Track Backing Plate, part # e96RR, to make it as secure as possible. • Can I Use The Vertical E-Track E19146 In The Horizontal Position For My Covered Cargo Trailer
My contact at Erickson confirmed that you are definitely able to use the Vertical E-Track # E19146 in the horizontal position. The advantage for you is that it will mount to the space you need it to fit. The only disadvantage of using the Vertical Track # E19146 is that there are less anchor points to hook into than the Horizontal E-Track, part # EM59150. To connect straps to the E-Track, you will need to use E-Track 2 Inch D-Ring, part # E59143. I have linked a video review of the D-ring...

  • Attaching Galvanized E Track to Flooring In Trailer
I would recommend using the galvanized lag bolts you refer to. Due to the thickness of the floor, I do not think it would be necessary for all the lag bolts to go through the flooring and bolt to the frame, but having the 4 at each end and two in the center would be a good idea. The remaining bolts, spaced an one foot intervals could be driven into the 2x8 planks. The galvanized e track would hold up well to the weather.

  • Can Etracks be Cut Shorter to Custom Length For Trailer
The Erickson Horizontal E-Track # E19148 can be cut to length for your application. We suggest using a saw or cutting wheel and grinder to cut the tracks to the needed length. Another option is for you to use that 5 foot track and then add 2 foot track # EM59150 so no cutting would be needed.
