Can Erickson E-Track Be Used on Exposed Deck of Open Utility Trailer

Do you know how well the painted e-track holds up to weather? Ive mostly seen it in enclosed trailers, but would like to use it on an open flat utility trailer. Is there a better option for my trailer or will the painted be fine? thanks

Expert Reply:
Erickson E-Track Cargo Control items like # EM59150, # E19148 and # E19146 are not painted but rather they are given a zinc coating treatment to provide corrosion resistance since they are made of steel. These are perfectly suitable for use on the deck of an open trailer.
Be sure to use appropriate non-corrosive galvanized hardware to install the tracks. No fewer than 2 fasteners per linear foot (on each side) are required.
