Can I Mount Multiple Pieces Of E-track To Make An 18 Feet Strip

Question:

How should multiple shorter strips be mounted to make one long continuous strip? Ex. 3 6ft pieces to make 18ft A butt joint wont allow for proper securing of one pieces end since the wall stud isnt wide enough. Can the pieces of etrack be overlapped and securely mounted while allowing for use of the down strap slot?

If you need 18 feet of E-track I recommend using 2 pieces of 8 feet Horizontal E-track part # E19135 and 1 piece of 2 feet E-Track part # EM59150. 8 feet is the longest Horizontal E-Track available.

The E-track pieces are not designed to be mounted properly while overlapped with one another. I recommend cutting one of the tracks down with a saw or cutting wheel if the piece is too long to mount onto the wall stud. A lot of customers also attach thicker plywood to the wall studs where the E-track will mount for extra security.

Horizontal E-Track also comes in 5 feet long part # E19148 and 4 feet long part # EM19147.
