Erickson Car Tie Down Straps - 08504-05

  • Axle Strap
  • Snap Hooks
  • 2001 - 3500 lbs
  • 6 - 10 Feet Long
  • Erickson
  • 1 Strap
  • 1-1/8 - 2 Inch Wide

This Erickson trailer cargo control kit with ratchet, twisted flat hooks, and axle strap is used to secure a vehicle to the bed of a truck or trailer. 10,000 lbs max load.

  • Used for securing a vehicle to the bed of a truck or trailer
  • Twisted flat hooks help keep the strap straight and flat
  • No longer need to twist the strap to secure the hook to the tie-down
  • Axle straps help secure your vehicle to the trailer

  • Tie-down strap dimensions: 2" wide x 7' long
  • Axle strap dimensions: 2" wide x 24" long
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 3,300 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 10,000 lbs

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

This Erickson trailer cargo control kit with ratchet, twisted flat hooks, and axle strap is used to secure a vehicle to the bed of a truck or trailer. 10,000 lbs max load.

Exactly what I needed. The short strap length and the safety clips on the hooks make for a very fast secure and safe tie down Would highly recommend.

The Erickson Axel Strap system works very well for holding down the rear of the car during short or long distances. I highly recommend this product to anyone!

Used 4 of these to tie down my jeep wrangler by the axles to a trailer. Towed it 3,000 miles across the country, they held up well especially over the steep inclines and declines in Utah and through Tahoe.

Great straps. I use the on my ‘93 Land Cruiser when we tow it to Moab and my ‘72 GMC when we tow it to long-distance shows. We could drive them both to their destinations (and have) but our new tow vehicle is much more comfortable for a 2,500-mile trip. ;-)

Straps and Ratchets are professional quality.
The etrailer price makes these an Excellent Value IMO.

I purchased one at first just to try it to see if it would do what I needed. Turns out this product worked great so, I got another! I'm using these straps to tie my car down on my trailer when we go camping. Easy to use, great product. Thanks.

Still working great. Thanks!

Just got them today 6/17 but I will be using them soon. They look high quality and well put together.

Just what I wanted. After trailering for 30 years, I needed some new tie downs and these are just what the doctor ordered. Perfect. Heavy duty, well made, strong and top quality. A good value.

Peter B.

This product still works great - has held up well and I am sure it will be good for many years to come.

These straps work, it would be nice if they offered a strap with the ratchet directly attached to the hook & a swivel hook. They are about 5 feet too long for what I need, but they work though!

After years of struggling with regular pull style motorcycle tie downs. I finally decided to try a different product for my side by sides. What a brilliant move. These tie downs make securing my Polaris Razors a snap. They secure the vehicle to the trailer so firmly that I feel the would hold even during an accident. Very high quality ratcheting straps not the cheap products that you find coming from China. The straps are thick, wide, and tough.

Very good quality straps and ratchets. I use them for hauling a UTV long distance on a trailer. When I purchased these I was looking for a quality tie down system rather than the cheap stuff you see everywhere. Very glad I purchased the Erickson kit. A+

From the packing and product. Should be
great. Haven't used yet but plan on soon
Thats the only reason I gave 3.
I am sure its a great product.

These straps have performed very well for us. I'll definitely purchas them again as needed.

Excellent product. ETrailer was the only company that I could find offering car tie downs with safety clips on their hook ends preventing de-latching if slack develops in the strap. Shipped the same day I placed my order and arrive quickly with accurate UPS tracking.

The ratchets, straps, and axle-straps look great, having a high-quality appearance and good attention to detail when manufactured. Unfortunately, I haven't used them yet due to the cars show cancellations this year (2020). But, these straps are identical to a set of four that I had from 2013 to 2018, and that set performed very well. I replaced the axle-straps once in those 5 years as I learned what chassis parts to avoid that can cut the strap material.

The tie down kits were perfect for strapping my 77 bronco to a car hauler. Quick to cinch down & easy to pack up to store for the next trip. The hooks are large & the axle straps worked perfectly. Would definitely buy again & will refer to my friends for their needs.

The length of these tie downs is great and the closed hooks make them even better. We use them to safely secure wash out hooks onto concrete trucks during the wash out procedure of our concrete pumps. I will definitely purchase again when needed.

Easy to order and quick delivery. Exactly what I needed.

These tie-down straps are some of the best I have seen or used. However, the best part about dealing with etrailer was their customer service and attention to detail. I received several emails informing me of order status. I really appreciated the personal touch.

Used the straps once and they worked fine. Best part was that the straps arrived BEFORE expected delivery date!

Bradley J.

Have only used them once and they worked fine.

Great service, just received the straps and Axle Ratchets, yesterday after ordering them on Tuesday and delivering them on Thursday super fact service.. Going to haul our 67 Nov to Hot August Nights next week and will be using the straps to secure our car to the D Rings in the Trailer.

This combination of tie downs is a lot easier and convenient to secure vehicles when hauling on my 25 foot gooseneck trailer.

I have used this product before and among many ratchet straps I have tried this one has high quality ratchets and hardware. Application is racecar trailering on an open trailer.

Straps work great. I carry a small excavator and a tractor loader. I'm very happy with them and would purchase more when needed

Great straps! Hold cars down solid while transporting in my trailer.

  • Tie Downs Needed to Secure CJ3A Willys Jeep to Flat Bed Trailer
The Erickson Tie Down Kit you mentioned, part # 08504-05 would work great for you as long as the hook on the end of the strap can secure to the tie downs you mentioned. You would need four of the straps, one to secure each corner of the vehicle. Due to the 3300 lb safe working load limit (WLL) of each strap, you will have more than enough capacity to secure your Willys to the trailer. The 13,200 lbs of capacity will be exactly what you need on those rough roads.

  • Are Car Tie Down Kit 08504-05 Straps Long Enough for 8.5 Foot Wide Trailer and 109 Inch Wheelbase
The longer strap included with car tie down kit # 08504-05 is 7 feet long. So depending on the width of your enclosed trailer and where the attachment points are it is very possible that 7 feet will be long enough. The 7-foot long version is the longest we have available. Assuming that you have a attachment points closer to the rear as well as at the front then the 109 inch wheelbase should not be a problem.

  • Car Tie Down Straps for Towing 2006 Chevy Equinox on a Flat Bed Trailer
The heaviest model 2006 Chevy Equinox weighs just under 4,000 pounds, so if you use at least four of the Erikson Car Tie-Down Straps, # 08504-05, you should be fine. The straps have a maximum capacity of 10,000 pounds and a safe working load limit of about 3,300 pounds. More contact points is better than less, so if the vehicle and trailer allow, I would use 4 straps to spread the load and keep the car steady on the trailer. You can order these online by following the link below, or you...

  • How Does the Car Tie Down Kit # 08504-05 Work
The Car Tie Down Kit # 08504-05 actually secures the axle of the vehicle, not the tire. The short strap with the loops on each end goes around the axle. The hook on the long strap goes through the 2 loops. And the other end of the long strap goes through the ratchet mechanism. And the hook on the other end of the ratchet part would attach to your anchor point. You would only need one set provided the vehicle is within the 10K capacity/3,300 pound working load limit of this system. For...

  • Availability of Erickson Car Tie-Down Straps With Ratchet
We do have a car tie-down kit from Erickson that is very similar to the one you referenced, though the Erickson Tie-Down with the Multiplier Ratchet and Swivel Hook is no longer available. Instead, I recommend the Erickson Car Tie-Down Kit with Ratchet # 08504-05, which like the kit you mentioned, is 7 feet long, has 2 inch wide axle straps and a 10,000 lb break strength. Each also has a 3,300 lb safe working load limit which will affect how many straps you need. For example if the car...

A 235/75R15 size tire has an overall diameter of just under 29-inches and a width of about 9-1/4-inches. A 245/75R16 tire has an overall diameter of about 30-1/2-inches and a width of about 9-1/2-inches. Wheel nets we offer top out at the 29-inch size. • Tie Down Strap Recommendations for an Infinity GNW 500 Car Hauler
Since you never know what you might need to put on your car hauler I recommend going with something that has a high capacity such as the set of 4 Bulldog axle tie down straps # BDW20230. They are rated for 3,335 pounds working load and 10,000 pound break strength. It is important though to go by the working load limit for any strap. I have included a link to a video review of these straps for you.

  • Recommended Tow Straps for Car Hauler Trailer
Since the cost of four of the Erickson Car Tie Down Kit # 08504-05 is close to that of the Bulldog 4-piece set, I would go for the Bulldog kit # BDW20230. For the couple of extra dollars you get not only 10-foot straps rather than 7-footers, but you also get the carry bag to keep everything in order.

  • What Cargo Tie-Down Straps for Trailer Hauling a 1976 CJ5 with Off Road Tires
Based on my research, the weight for a 1976 CJ5 can vary between 3500 and 4000 lbs depending on whether it has a hard top and on its particular engine and transmission. Based on this the Erickson Car Tie Down Kit, part # 08504-05, is a very good choice but is not by itself sufficient to secure the Jeep for trailer transport. This Erickson kit has a working load limit (WLL) of 3300 lbs, which is below the vehicle weight. I suggest you use this kit in conjunction with wheel nets, such...

Each of the # RR5K D-Ring Tie-Downs has a 5000 lb capacity. Although two of the rings would have plenty of capacity for your Jeep, I would recommend using four of them, one near each corner. When you are securing a vehicle to a trailer, overkill is never bad. To secure your Jeep to the rings, I would recommend the Erickson Car Tie Down Kit, part # 08504-05 which includes an axle strap and ratchet strap. You would need four of them.
