Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

Fast and easy installThe best easy install around.... only took 15 minutes and that time was mostly spent on taking the tail lights off and putting back on. Having some problems now after several years so might just buy another one!!

Outstanding Customer Service during order phase, harness arrived superfast, I had pre-read installation instructions and had tools at the ready. It took less than 30 mins from start to finish including testing my trailer lights. Thank you all for such professional service.

2008 Honda Ridgeline

This product was a delight to install! Everything went as described in the install sheet. It was truly a plug n play install.

I would suggest that a picture of where to 'stick' the control module be included in the instructions, it would have made the install sheet more valuable!.

2008 Honda Ridgeline

I ordered a traveling wiring kit for my 2008 honda ridgeline... The package came quickly, ordering and finding this product was very easy. The kit was fantastic! I have wired trailer lights 8-10 times in the past and this was by far the easiest kit I have ever used... great product. Great service. I couldn't be happier, thank etrailer!

Easy ito install - use a peice of wire to pull connectors through openings from beneath car into tail light cavities prior to installing hitch. You can incase wires in plastic flex tubing - if desired - for additional protection.

2011 Honda Ridgeline

Ordering and delivery were superb. Order confirmation and notice of shipment the same evening.
The product (trailer tow wiring loom for a Honda Ridgeline) appears of good quality and durable. A handful of wire ties was included, which was nice. The install took about 90 minute and is a fairly obvious operation. Better photos in the instructions would be good. Be sure you know how to unsnap the Honda wire connectors - it is NOT obvious at all - ETrailer has a short video at the product's site showing the proper way to do it and it was a BIG help.

I would buy this product again. And I will be doing business with ETrailer again.

2006 Honda Ridgeline

The tow wiring harness for my '06 Ridgeline arrived as promised. Instructions included in the package were so so, but there were YouTube videos that were perfect. Installation was difficult because I wanted the wires routed in protected locations. The right tail lamp wire almost didn't reach because I couldn't get the large connectors through the most efficient route/holes. It just did make it. I also needed more of the large black cable ties. Overall, I would give the product a B+ and the seller an A. No picture because its all buttoned up, so it looks stock.....

Hi David were you able to actually get all the wires routed out of the way of everything - and not exposed during normal use to the vehicle ?? Im curious especially about the way the wires have to cross to both taillight assemblies ?? Please let us know ThanksDaryl

  • Where is the Brake Controller Connector Located Under the Dash on a 2009 Honda Ridgeline
The factory brake controller connector under the dash is not all that visible but it is fairly easy to locate. It is a 4-pin connector that is located underneath and left of the steering column. It will be taped to another harness near the brake pedal. Once you locate the connector you will know it is the right one if it mates to the Tekonsha Wire Replacement for Honda Ridgeline and Pilot, item # 3070-P. A little bit of searching is required. Sometimes the connector is completely covered...

  • Left Turn Signal and Brake Lights Do Not Work On Trailer or 4-Way on 2006 Honda Ridgeline
You have done all of the correct testing and it does indicate that the converter in harness # 118400 has gone bad and needs to be replaced. There could be any number of reasons for a converter to go bad. It could be a short on the trailer that blew the box, protecting the vehicle wiring like it was designed. Check the trailer to make sure the grounds are all attached to clean bare metal surfaces. Also make sure that the trailer and vehicle side connectors are free of dirt and corrosion....

  • Adding 7-Way Trailer Connector to 2008 Honda Ridgeline
If your 2008 Honda Ridgeline came with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector it is possible that # HM40975 will fit. You need to look at the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the factory 7-Way. If it looks the same as the back of # HM40975, see picture, then you can use it. If your Ridgeline did not come with a 7-Way then to add one you will start by installing a 4-Way (unless the truck already has one) using # 118400. Then you will need to install 4- and 7-Way installation...

  • Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector to a 2006 Honda Ridgeline
It would appear that the 2006 Ridgeline either came with a factory installed 7-Way connector at the back or it didn't. If it isn't present then your model must not have come with it. But you can add one. To add a 7-Way you will first need to install a 4-Way using wiring harness # 118400. Then you can install 4- and 7-Way kit # ETBC7 to add the 7-Way and retain use of a 4-Way as well. I have linked some videos that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you. The hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite # 75280, because of its high towing capacity. It's important to note that you will be limited by your lowest rated part which may end up being your vehicle so you will want to be sure to check your owners manual for any limitations. It's intended for electric brake controllers but not having a controller connected won't hurt anything. And if you install the # ETBC7 you'll already have everything you need to add a controller later. Unless the vehicle is equipped with the OEM 7-way (apparently it's not), the 12-volt circuit wouldn't be ran from the front of the vehicle. You can run the circuit yourself using a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1. You'll need to run the wire through a 40 amp circuit breaker, part # 9510.
