This hitch is built for everyday towing, hauling, and gear-carrying. With a 2" x 2" receiver opening and a Class III rating, it handles up to 5,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 500 lbs tongue weight. When used with a weight distribution setup, those numbers climb to 6,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs TW. That’s plenty for hauling small campers, boats, or utility trailers, or for mounting bike racks and cargo carriers.
Every inch of this hitch is designed for strength and durability. The fully welded, square-tube steel construction maximizes rigidity and stability when towing. A gloss black powder coat finish sits over a protective base coat for superior corrosion resistance, so it stays looking good and working hard season after season.
This custom-fit hitch bolts directly to the vehicle’s frame with no drilling or welding. The mounting holes line up precisely thanks to robotic welding that ensures consistent alignment. All the necessary hardware and installation instructions are included, so the job can be done with basic tools right in your driveway—no lift or special equipment needed.
The concealed cross tube keeps the hitch tucked up tight under the rear bumper, so only the receiver opening shows. That means you get all the capability of a heavy-duty hitch without changing the look of your vehicle. It’s a solid, factory-style appearance that doesn’t call attention to itself while still being ready for work or play whenever you need it.

It could have just been a case of flexed hitch with the Draw-tite receiver. Whatever the case, I am glad the Curt brand fits well.

When a trailer hitch is constructed, softer steel is used in the side plates as opposed to the harder steel used in the crossbar and receiver tube. This allows the hitch to flex along with the vehicle to a certain degree. This flexibility can also allow the hitch to get slightly bent out of position during shipping and handling. The good news is that its very easy to fix this if you know a few tricks as shown in the linked article.
