Review of Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 118400

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 118400. This is the T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with a four-pull flat trailer connector. The unit's going to provide a four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This unit is designed to visit certain years of the Honda Ridgeline. The unit's going to connect quickly and easily. You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires. All you have to do is locate the connection points behind your tail lights and simply plug in your T-connectors. Nice, easy system to do.

The connections are just going to snap together. They got the locking tabs for a nice, tight, secure fit. It's also going to include the circuit protected tail light converter. This is going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. It's going to provide protection against electrical shorts and overloads. The overall unit is constructed of sixteen gauge bonded wire. You're going to have your ground wire right here.

It's going to be the white wire with the ring terminal attached to it. Self tapping screws are included so you can get that ground connection made. It's also going to come with a self tapping screw so you can mount the converter box, or the tail light converter to a nice, smooth surface, keep it out of the way for a clean installation and just make sure it doesn't get in the way of anything. You're going to have two sets of T-connectors. The side with the yellow wire goes to the driver's side. The green and red wire is going to give some more wiring, a little bit longer so that way it can reach over to the passenger side of the vehicle.

Then you're going to have plenty of wiring here with the four-way flat connector. That way you can run it and use a mounting bracket to secure it at the rear of your vehicle or just keep it in an out of the way area. You can loop it to your trailer hitch. A lot of different options when it comes to making sure this stays up and off the ground and it doesn't dangle loose. It's going to come with a dust cap for the four-way flat connector. When it comes to the maximum amperage for the unit for the stop and turn lights, we're looking at 2.1 amps per circuit and 5 amps per circuit for the tail lights. Now again, the T-1 connector's going to plug into your vehicle's wiring harness and that's going to be located behind the driver's side and passenger side tail lights.

You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access the harness and then they simply just plug in to the connection points. Once your installation is complete, the four-way flat connectors are going to be stored beneath the vehicle, near the trailer hitch. Again we do recommend a mounting bracket that's going to be sold separately. That's going to keep the connector secure. It's also recommended to use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections to help prevent any type of corrosion. Again, you're going to get a couple of self tapping screws as well as some zip ties, that way you can secure any slack in your wiring. It makes for a neater appearance when it comes to the installation. That's going to do it for our review of part number 118400. This is the T-1 vehicle wiring harness with a four-pull flat trailer connector. .
