A water pump is needed to get the water from your RV or boat's fresh water holding tank up to your faucets. This automatic pump from Seaflo not only performs this task, but it also ensures a consistent flow and high-volume output for 1 fixture. It's energy efficient and runs quietly.

Seaflo pumps for RV fixtures

No-Mess Self-Priming

There are 2 types of pumps you can get for your RV: one that requires manually priming every time you run your fresh water tank dry, and one that primes automatically. Manual priming requires that you pour water into the pump, which can be inconvenient and messy. This pump primes itself, keeping you and your RV clean and dry.

Worry-Free Operation

Seaflo uses an automatic start-and-stop pressure switch that lets the pump run dry long enough to self-prime. If you turn your water on and realize you've unknowingly run your fresh water tank dry, the pump can run dry without damage while you shut the faucet and the pump off. The pressure switch also protects the pump motor from overheating when the water has been on for a while. So, if one of your kids leaves the faucet on, you're going to town with the washdown hose, or your teen takes a long shower (despite your asking them to conserve water), the pump will kick off when it starts to get hot. Once the motor has cooled, it will automatically come back on if the faucet or shower is still turned on.

To use this pump once it's installed, you only have to turn the water on!

Quick Tips: Some of our neighbors suggest unplugging this pump when you're traveling to prevent it from turning on accidentally if your faucets shake. And some of our feline-loving friends also recommend unplugging the unit any time you leave your cats unsupervised.

Installation

This pump can be installed on the floor, under a cabinet, or on the wall. Because this pump has a vertical, priming lift, you can install it up to 6' above your fresh water tank. Just make sure to measure 6' from the bottom of your holding tank. This is where the intake fitting will sit.

Pump feet and mounting pattern

Once you've determined the pump's location, it can be secured to its new home with 4 screws (not included).

Filter

A filter is included to prevent debris from entering the pump. To install this, just screw it inline with the inlet port. Once you have the tubing (sold separately) in place on the hose barbs, add clamps (sold separately) for extra security.

Fill your fresh water tank and turn your water faucet on to clear the lines of air. The pump should kick on immediately, but because self-priming can take up to a minute to complete, give it a little time to start producing water at the faucet.

Video Transcript for Review of Seaflo RV Fresh Water - Water Pump - SE37FR

Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the SEAFLO diaphragm pump. You can use this for both marine or RV applications. And basically it's just going to help to pump that water wherever you need it. It could be used with freshwater or saltwater. And a lot of times it's going to be a replacement for maybe one that's already gone out in your RV or your boat, maybe even a food truck or something like that.

So this supplies that water pressure to your faucets, maybe it helps to move that water from one container to another, maybe you're getting it onboard your RV or something like that, or using it as a bilge pump or something else. It should be a pretty nice compact design to fit just about anywhere you'd want it to be.Going to take a closer to look at it and talk about some more of those detailed specs to make sure that this is the right fit for your application. As you can see, it's a nice compact unit and it should be pretty quiet as well. At the bottom, we'll have these semi-rigid feet. They are made of rubbers.

That should help to reduce any vibration or noise and help to dampen that out. It is self priming. So you can put this above the water tank up to six feet away. So a six feet lift from the water supply, and it should still have good pressure up to that point. We'll have two fittings on either side for our three eights inch tubing that this is going to work with.

And it does also have a builtin pressure switch. So as soon as you turn on that faucet or open up the valve for the water, it should detect that pressure and then kick on to pump the water through. It also has protection from running dry. So even if that does happen, it shouldn't damage the pump itself. It should still be fine for the next time, but you might need to re-prime the system to make sure that there's no air in it. So just keep that in mind.

It is a bolt on application with those little feet there, but it does not come with any hardware. So you will have to get some screws or bolts to put this in place. You might even be able to reuse the existing hardware from the pump that you're replacing, if you are replacing one. It's a pretty industry standard size. I'll give you those measurements in just a moment. It does also have a two chamber diaphragm, so it can give you that nice high volume water flow for up to two fixtures. Now, as far as those dimensions, overall size of the unit here is about. Looks like it's about six and five eighths inches long from end to end. Distance between those feet is about three and seven eights. The total height is about two and seven sixteenths, or just over two and three eighths. The distance between those mounting holes for the feet, center to center it's just shy of two inches. Looks like it's about 2 and an eighth. And then going this way, it's about three inches, about three and eight. The cord coming off of here, it looks like it's about 12 inches, 12 to 15 inches long.As far as the power draw with this, the max is four amps. It works with 12 volts. DC. The flow of water is 1.2 gallons per minute. And the pressure setting is at 35 PSI. The max water temperature this can handle is 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It is covered by a four year limited warranty. And that's pretty much it for our look at the SEFLO diaphragm pump for your boats and RVs. I hope this has been helpful in deciding this is going to be the right one for you. We do have some other options available here at etrailer.com, along with a lot of other accessories for your boats and RVs. So check them out. Thanks for watching.

I bought 7 of these pumps. None of them self prime. I have a bucket of water 16" below the pump and none of them will draw water. Super frustrating! Before you ask, yes, the connections are correct.

I contacted the manufacturer about the issues you were having and they had some good information I want to pass along. First of all, make sure the direction of the flow is correct... This pump is actually plumbed reverse of all their other pumps. So, the suction side is right to left looking at the face of the pump. Now after that you would check for suction side air leaks. By the looks of the setup here there are many connections to make sure are air tight. This pump has three eighths of an inch fittings so it is designed to run three eighths tubing. I am not certain but it looks like you adapted half inch. That is a twenty five percent increase so the pump would need a little extra time to draw a prime. The other concern is the possibility of the pumps overheating. Let me know if you are still having issues.

@BrookeM The direction is plumbed correctly. All the tubing is three eighths and everything is air tight. They just wont purge. Once I fight them into being purged, they pump, without any leaks. They just will not self purge

@StevenB I have a few more questions. What liquid are you using these for, how far is the source of the liquid from the pumps? Is each pump separately plumbed to the liquid source? How long are you letting the pumps try to prime?

Looks great. It will be a few months before I can mount and connect it up.e

I use this pump to prime the system and it works faithfully, saving me time and frustration. A reliable product after intermittent use during the year.

by:

It's a good dependable pump. Second one I've purchased. Super easy to hook up and mount. I use it for fresh water for coffee or to rinse dishes in my car camping set up. I have it hooked up to a six gallon tank I bought from e-trailer and to my battery. It pumps out of the tank when I press the kitchen spray faucets I hooked up. Great for filling the coffee pot or rinsing off my feet. Let go of the spray and the pump stops. Nice inexpensive set up that works.

by:

Solid little pump has cycled off/on many thousands of times in the last year. I use it on a remote tank to feed water to my roof top swamp coolers here in the desert. Good pump.

by:

Amazing value. Better than expected pressure. It does make a little noise but i still give five stars for the pricepoint and pressure. If you need silent, prepare to spend a lot more.

by:

I bought this pump as an external source to pump RV fluid in my camper. PERFECT answer for an easy answer for winterizing - quick & easy!!

by:

This is a replacement for the same pump that failed in my camper (motor locked up; unrepairable.) I'll have to see how this one performs.

by:

Works great for the hunting cabin, pumping water from a 5 gallon jug to the sink faucet. Plenty of pressure and built in shut off is a plus.

by:

Looks like a great compact pump for a tight space. With do fine for a single fixture application.

by:

Great service!

by:

Just what the doctor ordered. Great value and fit like a glove.

by:

the pump is smaller in size than I expected and while it won't work for its original reason, I do have another use for it in my fishing boat.

  • Recommended RV Water Pump For A 4 Gallon Water Tank
RV water pumps like the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs # SE24FR pressurize your trailer's plumbing up to their specific psi rating and kick on when the psi starts to drop. With you only having a 4 gallon tank you would quickly blow through the water in it with a pump so the # SE24FR is a bit overkill for your needs. I recommend going with a lower psi and GPM model unit like the Seaflo Diaphragm Pump for Boats and RVs - Variable Flow - 1.2 GPM - 35 psi - 12V DC # SE37FR. This...
