Expanded Carrying Capacity for Your RV

etrailer cargo carrier

No matter how big your RV is you'll likely have gear you'd prefer not to store inside. This carrier lets you transport generators and fuel cans, so your storage compartments don't smell like gas. You can also strap coolers, luggage, and other bulky objects on it to free up space inside your RV. Lastly, it's great for carrying wet, dirty, or smelly items outside of the RV, keeping your interior clean and odor free. It has raised side rails that help prevent your gear from sliding off and provide multiple anchor points for a cargo net, bungee straps, or other tie-downs (sold separately).

Bumper Mount

etrailer cargo carrier

Most RVs don't have hitches installed, so if you want to use a cargo carrier, you'd have to install a hitch receiver. However, this cargo carrier mounts on your RV's bumper, so you don't need a hitch to carry your gear. It's also designed to provide better load distribution across your bumper than a hitch-mounted carrier.

Folding Design

etrailer cargo carrier

When the carrier is not being used, you can fold it up against the back of your RV. This is convenient if you need a little extra space at the campsite, if you're travelling but not carrying any gear at the time, or if you're parking close to a fence, a shed, or a garage. To fold the basket up, just remove the snapper pin from each arm assembly, fold the rack up toward your vehicle, then reinsert the pins through the holes in the top of the mounting brackets.

Easy Installation

etrailer cargo carrier

The carrier is easy to install. Just slide the mounting brackets over your RV's bumper, spacing them 17-5/8" apart (inside edge to inside edge), and secure them with the included M10 hex bolts. Attach the main arm assemblies to the mounting brackets with the included M16 hex bolts. Attach the basket to the main arm assemblies with the included M8 carriage bolts. The included support brackets mount to most RV frames to reinforce your bumper and prevent metal fatigue that can cause your bumper to detach.

  • Will 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper Fit 2023 Entegra Vision 29S
Hi Ron; looking at pictures you have the right kind of bumper on the rear of your 2023 Entegra Vision 29S. However, I would go ahead and measure it just to make sure the 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e96ZR will fit. This is designed to for 4" x 4" and 4-1/2" wide x 4" high RV bumpers. What will you be using the carrier for?

  • Availability of 24 by 84 inch Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper that is Enclosed
Hey James, I see in your order notes it looks like yesterday you ordered the etrailer cargo carrier with enclosure part # e94VV which it sounds like was exactly what you were looking for. This will do a great job keeping your cargo more secure than an open carrier.

  • Cargo Carrier For Forest River Trailer With Bumper
Hi Keith, So I looked and couldn't find a good photo showing the bumper of your Forest River trailer. Is it totally recessed under the bumper, is it even with the back of your trailer, or does it stick out a bit? If it sticks out at all or is even with the back of the trailer there is an option with a cargo carrier that attaches directly to the bumper (assuming it is a 4" x 4" and 4-1/2" x 4" bumper): - 24x40 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e99050 - 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier...

  • Height of 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier Above Trailer Bumper
Hey Eric! We have one installed on a trailer here so I went out and measured it for you. The # e96ZR sits 5-5/8" above the bumper when measured to the top of the rail. Add in an extra 1/4" for the bolt heads sticking up and you're at 5-7/8". If you have 6" of clearance that would technically do it but more is better just to make sure you don't clip anything and mess up your door. Let me know if that will work for you.

  • Is There a Spare Tire Mount for the 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper
The 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper part # e96ZR can hold a spare tire but there isn't any sort of specific mount for this. The photo attached below is a custom job from a neighbor and I'm not totally sure what they used to create this. If you want to try and recreate this you're welcome to but we don't have any advice for this. The only thing I can recommend is to set the tire inside the basket and strap it down or go with a smaller size so you can retain a bumper mount. The...

  • Recommended Bumper Mounted RV Cargo Carrier
The carrier in your picture looks like it's welded to the rear bumper so the closest option we would have would be the 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e96ZR that you were looking at. This carrier comes with brackets that can fit 4" x 4" and 4-1/2" wide x 4" high RV bumpers. It also comes in a 24x60 # e99049 size in case the 84" length is too long.

  • What is the Rear Bumper Capacity of a 5th Wheel Trailer and How To Increase It
In order to determine the capacity of the rear bumper on any fifth wheel trailer you'll need to reach out to the trailer manufacturer as we don't have this information. That said, it's typically around the 200 lb mark. If you need/want more we do have a way to strengthen the rear bumper using the Mount-n-Lock SafetyStruts Universal RV Bumper Support Brackets part # MO34VR which increases the capacity to 400 lbs. In order to carry cargo and gear on the bumper, I highly recommend the etrailer...

  • 2021 Forrest River 2883WS Cargo Carrier Recommendation
For your 2021 Forest River 2883WS I would recommend a hitch mounted cargo carrier over a bumper cargo carrier, as Forrest River does not recommend mounting anything the the bumper although people have done it in the past with no issues. Because of this reason, I recommend using something like the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 63153. This carrier is 24x60" which is slightly smaller than the 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e96ZR you referenced. However, these two...

  • Space Needed To Fold The etrailer Cargo Carrier Up When Not In Use
The 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e96ZR is going to fold up and sit on top of the mounting brackets, so anything that would sit above the bumper of your 2022 Jayco Redhawk Class C Motorhome is going to interfere with the cargo carrier's ability to fold up. The cargo carrier is going to require 4" of space, which is most likely the size of your bumper so as long as the ladder sits behind the bumper you'll have no issues.

  • Will A Bumper Mounted RV Cargo Carrier Attach To A Trailer Hitch On A 5th Wheel Trailer
The 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e96ZR is designed for 4" x 4" bumper tubes so this particular cargo carrier wouldn't be a compatible fit to attach to your trailer hitch crosstube. Instead I recommend a hitch mounted cargo carrier option like the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 63153. Hitch mounted carriers will slide right into the receiver tube of your trailer hitch and secure with a hitch pin for a fast and convenient carrier option.

  • Will Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper be Able to Fold up With Ladder on RV
With a ladder on the back of your RV it is unlikely you will still be able to fold up the 24 x 84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumpers # e96ZR. Reason why is when the carrier folds up it takes up all the space of the bumper, so unless your bumper protrudes out past where the ladder is you won't be able to. If you want that folding feature, and your ladder is off to the side, a carrier with less width will be able to fold up as you can mount it on the side of the ladder. Granted they may...

  • Is There a Hitch Mount Version of the 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper
I do have some options for you but you'll notice the 24x84 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper part # e96ZR has three points of contact which is what allows it to support such a long load. The 24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches part # C18151 for example on the other hand only has a single point of contact, therefore you're maxed out at 60" which is about the limit for a hitch mounted cargo carrier.
