How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at the Lets Go Aero GearCage T6 Extra Large Cargo Carrier on our 2019 Winnebago Spirit. Now when you go with a cargo basket, usually you're trying to get your bigger, bulkier items out on the road with you, like these extra large totes or your generator, maybe a big cooler, a smoker or grill. Generally speaking, when you go with your standard size cargo basket, you would grab these two big items and that would be it where this is gonna give you a lot more real estate to get those bigger bulkier items out on your journey with you. A couple of features that stand out to me with this guy is firstly your safety. You're gonna have your reflective tape here that's gonna pick up all your lights to give you more visibility and your three function LED blinkers, they're gonna work with your hazards, your turn signals, as well as your brakes. Now the construction of our carrier is black powder coated steel with stainless steel hardware.
So this is gonna hold up against corrosion and all the abuse that it's gonna have being on the back of a vehicle. So it's gonna give you a nice long, durable build and finish. You're gonna have these posts here to tie out and that's gonna let you use your ratchet straps or bungee cables or even your cargo net to actually give a nice firm place to secure your cargo. As far as the space that's available on the inside of your carrier, it's 73 inches long by 32 inches wide and seven inches tall. So that's going to give you a lot of flexibility as far as how you can use your space.
Now the Lets Go Aero carrier shank has a five inch rise to it, so you're gonna get a lot more clearance. However, on the Spirit, just the way that the bumper is set and the recess on our receiver, you will not be able to take advantage of some of the function as far as folding away. So you have a pin here that you're gonna be able to pull out and you could generally raise up your carrier, but in this case, you're not gonna be able to clear the bumper or your ladder. So going down to the bottom of our shank here, you have a two inch receiver tube that's gonna go into your two inch shank and you have a lockable core. Now this lockable core is also a part of an anti-rattle device that has a block on the inside with a spring that's gonna allow you to take up some of that space on the receiver to, you know, stabilize everything.
And another thing that I always love when I see this on the receiver locks is the lock core pointing towards the rear of the vehicle. That just makes it so much easier to set up lock and secure your items when you're out on the road. So this guy is a real quick setup and just to get a better look at what stabilizing on the inside of your carrier receiver tube, you're gonna have this threaded block that goes, that your bolt threads into and you have the spring that's gonna press against the inside of your receiver and shank. So that's going to take up all the space for that slop and give you a much more sturdy ride going down the road. In general, Lets Go Aero makes some really solid products and something this large is gonna be specifically for that person that has those big items and they're very limited on space.
Now I have it here on our Winnebago. However, if you have a larger SUV or van with a two inch receiver, this will work just fine into that space. You just want to be aware that you're staying within your weight capacity of your vehicle and the carrier itself where it maxes out right at 300 pounds. This has been a look at the Lets Go Aero GearCage T6 Extra Large Cargo Basket on our 2019 Winnebago spirit. I'm Ed, this is etrailer.com and you have a great day.
Very happy with the quality and sturdiness of the product. Look forward to putting it to good use.
Took this on a 6000 mile road trip with combined families in our van and it was great! Very large and sturdy!!
The product works very well and has stood up well after being used for 1 year.
After 1 year of use, 20,000 miles loaded to maximum, carrier still performs well. Very happy with purchase.
Assembly took some time and you have to pay attention to what bolt length goes where but it's a solid product that is holding up well..
This worked out great. Holds so much and very sturdy. We use it to haul our bikes and grill when traveling. No need to fit them in our camper anymore!
Very Good Product Very Nice People To Deal With Quality Product
Great service and great product...it works perfectly on our pick up truck camper.
Very well built. The Directions were a little hard to understand and not all of the hardware was there.
Very pleased with how fast the item was shipped. I placed the order and several hours later I received an email that it had already shipped.
I have not been able to put it together yet but plan on it In the next couple of days.
I would definitely recommend this item and ordering any other item from here. Keep up the good service!
Thank you and God bless !

Product worked great with matching gear bag. Only used it once but it made it through snow and ice on the way to Colorado just fine. Looking forward to use it again on the next road trip.
great rack but packing was on the poor side. this rack weighs over 70 lbs and the box was smash up when it arrived but no damage to rack. etrailer had great customer service and was on top of my order at all times.
Great cargo carrier. Great for my husbands handicap scooter for us to hook on to our RV for camping trips.
I like the trailer. I use it in my travel back and forth once a year between Florida and Maryland. The only criticism I have is that many of the nuts and bolts, but strangely not all, have rusted.
I liked that this carrier was so large but it hasn't held up in the year that I've had it. One of the fastners that joins the cage broke after moderate use. Some of the end caps don't stay in place, showing rust inside the box tube. I will likely be welding it to see if I can get more use out of it.
Although assembly instructions were not well written and clear, the final assembled product appears to be sturdy and sufficient for carrying our motorized trikes.
This thing is awesome. We have used it to transport everything from a wheelchair to a stacked washer dryer combo. It is very well made and worth every penny. It is still in great shape after a year of constant use.
I've only taken this out once as of this writing. But, very happy with this product. I was able to put a ton of stuff into this. I also got the gear bag 4, which was super handy, it adds a few more bucks to the order, but was well worth it. Made locking down the cargo super easy. The slide out feature was great for the dogs as well. My biggest complaint (reason for 4 not 5 stars) was it took a long time (2 plus hours) to build and the instructions were not obvious. I had a ton of bolts left over, not sure why.
my use is limited but during assembly several of the bolts and screws separated and i went to a hardware store and bought proper bolts and screws otherwise this hitch tote holds my large tricycle for transport to where ever i need it to go
I found the trailer very hard to put on and off my Van, the wire harness has frayed twice and it is spotted tied up, so not sure about the design there. A bit challenging to extend in and out.
I use this mainly for hauling a heavy ice shack during the winter. Good heavy duty construction. Only down fall is the tail lights and mounting brackets are pretty cheesy and only lasted a couple trips.
The cargo carrier works very well for our application. The slide away from the SUV is key when we are unloading the cargo from the inside of the SUV. It's heavy but fairly easy on/ off - get a ratchet wrench that fits the bolt for quicker on off. Why 3 stars then? On day 1 the 2 reflectors (not lights) fell out. I have contacted the manufacturer multiple times with no response. Poor customer service . So as long as nothing breaks you're good. If something goes wrong - you're on your own. I have 2 open squares where reflectors should be.
I received my Hauler promptly as stated when ordered. Was also followed up from E Trailer.com about my order. I assembled the hauler with no problems, (you just have to read and look at the pictures) on the directions very good.( I'll also state I was an Army engineer fro 13 years) But, it's not hard at all. I haven't installed it yet as we will be sitting until March, but it looks, feels, and is the best I've seen. I've had a couple in the past and this is by far the strongest i've seen. We plan on hauling a 4K genset on the rear of our 5Th Wheel. It will a be permanent fixture as we need power as we roll. Now the only thing I have to figure out is how to use my hitch mount flag pole holder with the hauler. the rear is open and but the opening is the same size as my holder. (need a sleeve). The hauler has a completely closed bottom (3 piece) to keep the road grime off your belongings. I haven't taken pictures yet but will add some when I hook it up. Overall, It looks, and appears to be a Great product. I would suggest this or the longer version of this. Mine is 32x48. They offer a longer model too.
Received product in timely manner instructions were easy to read went together easy
Added this along with the associated "Gearbag" (HCR628) to our Sprinter to carry bikes and cargo --- loving it. Works as specified. Add the tail-light kit for extra added safety ... H01540.
