Adjustable-channel, surge-type actuator welds onto 3" wide trailer tongue and lets you mount your coupler (sold separately) in three different positions to match your application. Unique roller design helps reduce resistance.
Features:
Specs:
When you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and momentum pushes your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. With surge brake systems, the actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward while the tow vehicle slows. The actuator telescopes, applying force to its master cylinder, which in turn supplies the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage the trailer's brakes.
Because this model does not include a reverse lockout, it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free-backing brakes so that you can drive in reverse without triggering your trailer's brakes.

Today we're going to take a look at the Titan adjustable channel weld-on drum brake actuator. It has a 12,500 pound weight capacity. Now, this hydraulic actuator will synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. It uses a unique roller design, which will reduce resistance during the telescoping of the actuator to help create straight line movement. If you notice on the top roller they actually even put a grease circ fitting for lubricating that roller. This is made of a sturdy, durable steel construction.
Resists bending in any jackknife situations. The very front here is an adjustable channel. You can see it has 3 different mounting positions for a coupler that you choose to put in there. Now, if you do have one you can use yours. If not, we do sell couplers separately on our website that will fit this. Now, the breakaway kit is included.
Just to show you the breakaway kit. That would be this chain, and it's attached to this lever. On this end is an S hook. What you do is take this S hook and attach it to your tow vehicle and then what'll happen is if all of a sudden you're driving along and for some reason your trailer would come detached from your tow vehicle, it would pull on this chain, which would activate the lever and then that will activate the brakes on this actuator, which would then bring your trailer to a stop to prevent a runaway situation. You'll see it's in a nice, prime painted finish.
It is a weld-on installation. A few specs on this. The application is for trailers with hydraulic drum brakes. The mounting for this is on a straight 3-inch wide channel tongue. Now, the adjustable channel right up front here, give you a few measurements on that. The inside measurement to let you know which coupler will fit in there is 3-inches wide.
The channel height from the very bottom to the top is going to be right at 7 1/2-inches. These holes are at 2-inch increments. Now again, the gross towing weight capacity on this actuator is 12,500 pounds. Maximum tongue weight is 1,250 pounds. I just want to show you on the back here, this is where your hydraulic brake line . You'll make your connection. Here's your master cylinder. Here's the cap to access the brake fluid. Now if you notice on this model, where the brake line is attached, there is no reverse lockout. Because of that we like to recommend that you put your trailer with free backing brakes so that you can drive in reverse without triggering your trailers brakes. That should do it for the review on the Titan adjustable channel weld-on drum brake actuator with a 12,500 pound weight capacity.
