Ever faced the hassle of aligning your tall trailer with your tow vehicle’s hitch? The Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator features a remarkable adjustable channel with 3 mounting positions. This lets you mount almost any type of coupler, from a standard ball to a lunette ring, ensuring your trailer tows levelly. Say goodbye to misaligned hitches and enjoy a smooth towing experience whether you're using agricultural or construction trailers.
Concerned about rust and corrosion degrading your trailer brakes? The actuator's composite master cylinder combined with glass-reinforced nylon construction ensures exceptional durability. Resistant to rust and corrosion, this sturdy design allows for seamless operation of your trailer brakes, providing longevity even in harsh environments.
Worried about brake fluid contamination during long hauls? This actuator comes with a large reservoir that holds ample brake fluid, guarded by an automotive-style diaphragm cap. This setup creates a fully enclosed system, keeping contaminants out and ensuring consistent braking performance throughout your journey—ideal for safely managing up to 8,000 lbs of towing weight.
Setting up your trailer brakes should be as robust as possible. With its heavy-duty steel construction and black powder coat finish, this brake actuator offers bolted security that resists corrosion. It’s designed for a seamless fit on straight, 3” wide trailer tongues, making installation straightforward with 1/2" x 4-1/2" Grade 5 bolts.
Reversing a trailer can be a tricky maneuver, but with the optional Manual Reverse Lockout Kit, you can prevent the actuator from triggering the brakes when backing up. This setup is not only convenient but also essential for scenarios where free-backing brakes aren't available, providing adaptable solutions for different driving needs.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator. This hydraulic actuator activates your trailer's brakes when your tow vehicle slows or stops. The unit features an adjustable channel that has three different mounting positions for your coupler. Couplers are sold separately. It does feature the channel down design, which allows for a greater drop.Internally, it features a composite master cylinder that's very durable and efficient. It's a glass reinforced nylon construction that's designed to resist rust and corrosion.
It has a nice, large reservoir that provides increased capacity for brake fluid. Your brake fluid cap is right here. This is an automotive style diaphragm cap that creates a completely enclosed system to help prevent contamination of the fluid. As the actuator telescopes in and out, it's going to offer smooth operation and that's due to specialized lining that this actuator features. The breakaway is included. That's your cable with a hook attached to it.
So, this would attach to your tow vehicle. In the event where the vehicle separates from your trailer, it would pull this cable, which would then activate this lever, activating the trailer brake. So the breakaway is included with this actuator. It's a heavy duty steel construction with a black powder coated finishing on it to resist rust and corrosion. It's a bolt on installation. So, you've got your mounting holes and your mounting bracket here at the base of the unit.
It attaches at three points. Three on each side. It does require a half inch by four and a half inch grade five bolts for bolt on mounting. Those are sold separately. The product is made in the USA.
This is designed for trailers with hydraulic drum brakes. It features a gross towing weight of 8,000 pounds, with a maximum ton weight of 800 pounds. The channel width, that's this portion right here, internally, is approximately three inches. The channel bracket height is eight inches. This is designed to fit onto a straight three inch wide trailer tongue. The model number is DA91.Now, please note that this actuator is compatible with the Demco Manual Reverse Lockout Kit. Part number DM5939. If you choose not to add the reverse lockout, it is recommended that you equip your trailer with free backing brakes, so that you can drive in reverse without the actuator triggering your trailer's brakes. Then, here on the back side, you'll see the cylinder and the connection point for the brake line. That's going to do it for today's look at the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator.
