Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out our best towing mirror options for 2022 Toyota Highlander. When it comes to picking out a towing mirror for the Highlander, there's a ton of different choices out there, and so the purpose of this video is to kinda just try to simplify things, and I grabbed five towing mirrors that I think are really good fits for the Toyota so we're just gonna kinda run through them. And I kinda broke 'em down into two different categories. So these two mirrors, and the one that we also have on our Highlander. These here all have like rubber straps here that essentially just kind of clip on.

CIPA Clip-On Universal Fit Towing Mirrors Installation - 2019 Toyota Highlander

Today on our 2019 Toyota Highlander we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the CIPA Universal Fit Towing Mirror, which also comes as a set. Our towing mirror is really going to expand our field of view. That's going to be especially useful when we're towing a trailer and needing to make those lane changes, backing up into a tight spot, or just wanting to keep a close eye on what's going on behind us. As you can see, I'm visible in our towing mirror, but not in our factory mirror. And that'll give you an idea of how much more you're just going to be able to see.



CIPA Clamp on Universal Fit Towing Mirror Installation - 2018 Toyota Highlander

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be test fitting CIPA's clamp on towing mirror, part number CM11980. These also come in a quantity of two with part number CM11980-2. As you can see here, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror, but as I take a step towards the outside I'm no longer visible in our factory mirror, but I can be clearly be seen in our universal towing mirror. This is particularly useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes, and during parking maneuvers. This large mirror can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally. It can also be extended by loosening the nut located on the rod here and then pulling the mirror out.



CIPA Dual-View Clip-On Towing Mirror Installation - 2018 Toyota Highlander

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're gonna be test fitting CIPA's Universal Fit Dual-View Towing Mirror, part number 11953. You can also get these in a quantity of two with part number 11953-2.So as you can see here, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror. But as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in our factory mirror, but I can still be seen in our universal towing mirror. This is particularly useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes, or during parking maneuvers.This universal towing mirror has two different types of mirrors in it. The outside mirror is gonna be a convex mirror, so it's gonna give you a larger range of view. And next to that, you're gonna have a flat mirror, which is gonna give you a more accurate view.



K-Source Universal Dual Lens Towing Mirrors Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting K Source's dual lens universal towing mirrors, part number KS3990. And as you can see here, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror, but as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in the factory mirror, but I can be seen in our universal towing mirror. This is particularly useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes, or during parking maneuvers. Each lens is adjustable both vertically and horizontally, and each lens has a unique characteristic. This one's going to be flat, so it's going to give you a more accurate representation of what's behind you, and this mirror's convex, so it's going to give you a wider field of view.Now, you do want to remember that things in a convex mirror may be closer than they appear. While your mirror's installed, you can still adjust your factory mirror in all directions.



K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror Installation - 2018 Toyota Highlander

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting K-Source's Universal Towing Mirrors. Part number KS-3891. You can also get these in a quantity of two with part number KS-3891-2.As you can see here, I'm clearly visible on our factory mirror, but as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible on our factory mirror, but I can still be seen on our Universal towing mirror. This is particularly useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes or during parking maneuvers.This large Universal mirror can adjust both up, down, left, and right. You can also rotate the mirror to have the longer length be vertical by loosening the screw located on the back side. Once you've got it where you want it, just tighten the screw back down.While the mirror is installed, your factory mirror can still be adjusted in all directions.



CIPA Clip On Towing Mirror Installation - 2018 Toyota Highlander

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting CIPA's Clip-on Universal Towing Mirrors, Part Number 7070. You can also get these in a quantity of two with Part Number 7070-2.As you can see here, I'm clearly visible in our factory mirror, but as I take a step towards the outside, I'm no longer visible in our factory mirror, but I can still be seen in our universal towing mirror. This is particularly useful when merging onto the highway, changing lanes or during parking maneuvers.This universal towing mirror can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally, and if you'd like a wider plane of view, you can rotate it until it's horizontal. While it's installed, you can still adjust your factory mirror, and the breakaway function of the mirror can still be utilized without contacting the body of the vehicle.It's held onto your mirror with two rubber straps. The rubber material won't cause any scratches or abrasions to the back of your mirror and help hold it in place, and while it's installed, you'll still have full visibility of your mirror side marker.What's nice about these also is that they can be quickly changed from one vehicle to another if you've got multiple vehicles or multiple trailers that you use.We'll begin our installation by lining up the hooks with our towing mirror edges here and holding it in place. We'll then bring the straps around the back side and clip them on the hooks on the top.

If I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see there's no blind spot by the way we've got it set up but this is the view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be rotated 360 degrees so if you'd like to keep it at that horizontal position for a different view, you have that option. Now it can also be adjusted to most angles.

Between the two mirrors, the larger one's going to give us an accurate perspective of what's behind us. The smaller mirror is going to be our spot mirror.

Today, on our 2016 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the CIPA Clip-On Towing Mirror, part number 7070. The mirror itself is going to offer a wider field of view while you're driving. As you can see right now, I'm just in the towing mirror, but if I take a few steps over, now you can see me in the regular mirror. This towing mirror is a universal fit. It has adjustable straps that wrap around the back and won't block your turn signal on your mirror, and also, you can still push it in if you need to. The universal towing mirror will not keep your actual mirror from moving wherever you need it to move.



K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror Installation - 2015 Toyota Highlander

Today, on our 2015 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be doing a test fit on the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror. That's part number KS3891. It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park or even back up while towing our trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror but not the factory mirror. Now if I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up. But this is the view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down.

Today on our 2015 Toyota Highlander we're going to be doing a test fit on the Cipa Dual View Clip On Towing Mirror. That's part number 11953. It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer, or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. Between both mirrors, you get the same view, just a closer more clearer view in the larger mirror. If I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you could see there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up. This is the view you'd get with just your factory mirror. Both the larger and the smaller mirror can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side to side. The tabs here are not going to interfere with the operation, or movement of our factory mirror.

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander, we'll be doing a test fit on the CIPA clip-on towing mirror, part number 7070. It offers us a wide field of view, it's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror, but not the factory mirror. If I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up, but this is the view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be rotated 360 degrees, so if we like that side view, we can keep it wherever we want. We can also adjust it up or down, diagonal, or left or right. Each one of the clips here is not going to get in the way of the operation or movement of our factory mirror, and we can even still fold it in. Here on the back side, it uses two rubber straps to secure it in place around the factory mirror.

As you can see I'm visible in the towing mirror but not the factory mirror. If I take a few steps in towards my trailer as you can see there's no blind spot by the way we've got it set up, but this view you get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be rotated 360 degrees and can be adjusted to most angles. Got her up and down, side to side and even diagonal. By loosening up the large nut up top here it allows us to extend our mirror out to better suit our towing needs.
