Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional
This was a very easy installation of the hitch, wiring harness and trailer brake. Less than 2 hours with some help from my wife. All of the electrical was plug-n-play. I'm sure doing it myself (with help from [online]) saved me a lot of money.
I have never used any other brand of brake controller so it's hard to compare brands. And since the Tekonsha controllers have always worked extremely well I've never had a reason to use a different brand. I use this on an F350 Powerstroke Diesel hauling an 18 foot enclosed trailer and a 12 foot dump trailer. I had one of these controllers destroyed (electronically) when my brother connected it via 7 pin to one of his trailers that was wired differently than my trailers. I replaced it about 10 years ago and haven't had a problem since. I also had my brother rewire his trailers to match mine in case he needed to borrow my truck again, which he has, with np problems. This last controller I purchased was for my tractor so I could move my trailers around safely with my 28hp tractor.

Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional
THANKS for the Brake Controller unit from ETrailer. It arrived w/in 5 days from your MO location to my So CAL residence. Even as an Engineer/Scientist from the Delta IV rocket program and no experience with brake controllers, I was able to install this unit by myself. Your continued (live human) support and online video clips proved to be the key elements to this installation...without my symbolic pocket protector. I have attached a few images of the unit, mounted to the fuse-panel cover (3/16 attachments with locking hex nuts) in a 2006 Toyota 4Runner SR5 (with factory tow package). The placement of the unit onto the panel cover allows a new panel cover (no holes drilled) to be used when it is time to sell the vehicle.
Product was delivered on time. Installation vehicle was a 2012 Ford Expedition Limited with factory tow package and was a breeze. I purchased the pre-wired pigtail which fit the Ford connector with no problem. I used the snap-in plastic bracket, mounted on the knee panel as close as possible to the center console. I held the bracket in place using painters tape to check the mounting position before driving in the self tapping screws. Start to finish was less than 10 minutes. I pull a 29' tandem axel travel trailer which comes in around 7,000 lbs and so far, stopping has been smooth and even with no jerking.

Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller - 7-Way Plug Mount w/ Bluetooth App - 1 to 2 Axle - Proportional
I like the fact that I have a proportional brake controller I can stick in my glove box. It doesn’t have to be hardwired to the vehicle which is nice because I can use it on different applications. This one is definitely a plus over time delay brake controllers.
We have been using the Echo wireless brake controller for about a year with our little travel trailer. In general it works well, no problems with the installation or connection to our phones. There is a little rubber strap that supposedly keeps it attached to the vehicle, but it is pretty useless. We keep a bunch of 1cm wide zip ties in the car in order to secure the unit to our car.

Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller - Dash Knob - 2 Braking Modes - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional
This thing is awesome! I lucked out and the etrailer demo install video was on the same type of tow vehicle I have, so I was able to mostly just follow along for the install. It went in with minimal effort. I tow a 20 ft TT that weighs about 3500 lbs with a Chevy Colorado. I finally pulled our trailer from storage and had a chance to try out the controller. It is fantastic! My previous controller used bluetooth. With it I had problems with over braking at low speeds. I was constantly adjusting it between town and highway, and I found the adjustment clumsy because my phone locks after a couple minutes of not being used. The redarc fixed all of that and more! After dialing in the right setting, braking is like the trailer is not even there. It's that good! There is little to none jerking when I stop at low speed. And adjusting it is simple as it is one knob on the dash. This is how a brake controller is supposed to work! I towed 10,000 miles with my "other" controller, and I can't wait to try this out on our cross country trip this year! And as always, the etrailer folks are great to work with and full of wisdom that they share so I don't have to learn the hard way!
I saw the great online reviews of this controller and took the plunge. I bought my 2002 Chevy Silverado K1500 extended cab short bed truck new in 2001. It came with the HD Towing package which include a factory plug in trailer brake wiring loom. I took my time over a 2 day period to carefully install and triple check my install. The Chevy and Redarc wiring wiring descriptions made it easy to join the two harnesses. I used HD crimped plug in connectors further protected with shrank tubing. All wiring was bundled with zip ties after encasing in HD harness protective cover. Zip ties held in place behind the removable panel beneath the steering wheel. The control button is installed on the right side of the steering column within easy reach. Nice install. I read that the light would not go on until a trailer was hooking up. I was elated when we picked up our new cargo trailer and the controller knob light lit up upon hitching up. the first mile of travel allowed easy testing of the system and fine tuning came a few miles further down the road. GREAT PRODUCT!

Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller - Dash Mounted Knob - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional
This is my 2nd purchase of Curt spectrum brake control. When installing the first device, I accidentally broke one of the 6 wires (wiring the plug connector to the led display knob). I tried to fix it but it didn't work for long. That's why I had to order a 2nd device. For the installation of the 2nd, I was very meticulous because the 6 wires are very fragile. I succeeded by taking my time and everything works very well. The Curt company would do well to manufacture this device more robustly. For looks, it's ok in my 2019 Honda Passport.
Works great. (Better than any standard brake controller ive used in the past) Easy plug and play operation I chose to not drill into my dash rather just ran the cord up by the steering column

No threaded inserts in unit and screws for attachmen, guess you get what you pay for
Nice product and very easily installation.

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller - Dash Knob - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional
The hardest part was getting the zip ties tightened around the module without completely removing the trim under the steering wheel. I chose near the shifter for my location so it’s easy to reach but still out of the way.
Works great! No more readjusting between hi way and Campground driving. Looks great. Straight forward instruction for installation.

Dexter Predator DX2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 2 Axles - Proportional
Finally a brake controller that does what I set it to, not what it’s little computer brain, designed by someone who has never pulled a trailer thinks it needs to do.
I installed this controller in my 1982 Chevy K20 pickup. It works perfectly! Etrailer exceeded my expectations with their level of customer service from the time the order was placed to the products arrival at my home. Truly 5-star service! The video tutorials are straight forward and very helpful. The universal installation kit literally had everything needed to complete the job. Side note: I would have liked to see the (2) 10ga wires in the insulation to be black and blue, not black and white, no biggie, black on black and white on blue. Thanks again!

Hayes Engage Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Time Delayed
After one year of use the unit works as advertised but does require some getting used to.When first installed it goes to 25% activation in a total of 5 seconds so I turned it down to 15% and like it better loaded or empty..I prefer a proportional controller over timed but due to shortages at the time of purchase this one has filled the job well..Good price and easy install so will see how long it lasts...
Easy install and works great. I get all my trailering items from etrailer and have never had an issue.

Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller - Trailer Mount w/ Remote Fob - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional
I think it was easy to program and I am glad to have electronic trailer brakes while pulling a 1650 pound teardrop trailer with my subaru forester that has a 1500 pound tow capacity. The drive from Oregon to Michigan had no issues. The people with autobrake are very helpful in assisting if you should have any questions. I like that the brake system does not require a module inside the vehicle. Instead it is attached to my trailer and in the event this trailer has to be pulled by another vehicle with a seven pin connection the switch over should be seamless
A very convenient brake controller with proportional braking and wireless control. After 1 year and nearly 2k miles, the ATB's performance on the road was flawless. It is straightforward to install as well. Two minor issues: 1) I would have liked a fob with more features (ability to enable/disable the controller (see #2) and to check the braking level from the tow vehicle. 2) an on/off switch on the box. The quiescent current draw is not negligible, this drained the trailer battery once when it sat idle for too long. A workaround is to remove the fuse when it's not in use, but that's definitely a problem if one forgets to replace it before a trip and is reminded of this only when on the road and suddenly in need of the ATB. So I understand why it's not an option.

Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller - Trailer Mount w Remote - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional
This brake controller was easy to install and set up. The instructions we easy to follow and understand. Any questions are answered by their highly qualified customer support team. We feel a tremendous amount of comfort when towing.
Had it for about a year and have used it about a dozen times hauling my 33 foot camper trailer. I like the convenience of not having to wire something into my truck. works really well once you get it dialed in right. would recommend to anyone needing a brake controller but not wanting to go the hardwired route.

Hayes Energize III+ Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional
This controller was truly "plug&play". Installation was 30 min. Works perfectly. E-trailer has always been my go-to for all my truck and camper needs!
This is my second order with etrailer. Both experiences with your company have been very positive. The knowledge and friendliness -along with following up on orders and satisfaction have been much appreciated. Brittany, the customer representative, is a huge asset to etrailer.

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness - Dash Knob - Proportional
Install was simple and it doesn't encroach on your leg space other than the manual button. My wife didn't want a brake controller box hanging down on the knee bolster so this is a great alternative for her tahoe.
Installed perfectly with the factory adapter, I had to solder one wire as my kit was slightly different for my 2015 Tacoma, but worked perfectly pulling a trailer from Ohio to New York. Would not pull a trailer without a break controller as I had zero trailer sway. Also installed the same controller in a 2017 Sequoia, factory kit fit perfectly. Pulled a trailer from Ohio to Kansas and back, again zero trailer sway. This is a great alternative to a factory installed controller.

Curt Echo Under-Dash Bluetooth Brake Controller w/ OneControl App - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional
Do not buy either the Curt Under-Dash or plug-in Wireless brake controllers until Lippert fixes the phone app. I’ve used both happily with the old ECHO Smart Control app. I could use the remote manual button with the phone app not even running. As one would reasonably expect the button talked to the controller directly via Bluetooth. The new OneControl Auto app must be running and in the foreground to use the manual remote! And the most recent version of ECHO Smart Control is non-functional, it just tells you to install OneControl Auto.
The Curt Echo is now on my Nissan Armada and works perfectly. It was an easy hookup with the supplied harness and does its job.

Tuson DirecLink Base Model Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional
Complicated to install - used mechanics shop for install - had the wrong OBD interface cable initially, delayed / complicated further. Unit functions well. Happy with it overall and would recommend it. Manufacturer and e-trailer were readily available to provide extra support.
Everything arrived before due date and was well packaging. You all rock, and also, the items are good. . Best place to order all your trailer and truck accessories.

Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller for Tekonsha Harness - 2 Modes - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional
This Redarc pro elite looks great in my 23 Subaru ascent; it looks factory. I mounted remote head in front of shifter(very easy to get at)where there was an empty blank.Mounted module to one of column support bracket in spot where it would not interfere with any adjustments of column. By far the longest part was modifying blank with dremel tool to perfectly accept remote head(45 min)(but worth going slowly and taking the tim)This was a completely plug-n-play install.this kit put together by etrailer came with all harnesses so all could be just plugged in; this is why I always use etrailer; I know they have already done the behind the scenes vetting of every product they sell. THANKS ETRAILER
Purchased a 22' R-Pod 192 TT to pull behind my 2019 Benz GLS450 with a factory tow package. It was equipped with the "green brake connector" located by the left kick panel. Contacted etrailer to help choose the correct combination of parts for my vehicle. Was suggested the Redarc EBRH-ACCV3-NA Brake Controller and a TPH-017 Wire Harness. Once products were received, still needed a harness from the green connector to the unit. Wrote to manufacturer in Australia and was told also needed etrailer part number 3066-P. Ordered. Now had everything needed. However, where to mount the switch? One individual with the same Benz mounted it next to the cup holders, but he didn't have a switch for the cold/hot--I did. There was no where else to drill a 1" hole. Got an L-bracket from hardware store and modified it to accommodate the switch. Mounted the main unit securely to the underside of the dash panel and used 3M Dual Lock tape to attach it--no holes to drill. Haven't had an opportunity to tow yet; however, did follow the instructions for the initial "learn" by driving and braking without a trailer attached. Been quite a challenge, but happy with the results and support from manufacturer and etrailer. Happy Camping!

Curt Echo In-Line Bluetooth Brake Controller w/ OneControl App - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional
Just installed the curt echo but haven’t been able to test it as I haven’t hooked up a trailer yet. The attached images show that this controller is basically hidden under the bumper and it plus in behind the factory 7pin connector. I love this trailer brake controller because it’s completely hidden, and integrates like it’s OEM. No bulky controller to mount under the dash. It all works via Bluetooth connection. Only thing I dislike is the price, which is why I gave it 4 stars. This is about 2X the cost of the nice Tekonsha P3, but the nice thing is it can be easily transferred to another vehicle. I plan to keep this Curt Echo with me even if I sell my vehicle. Notice, Curt makes two versions of the Echo controller. This is the one you want.
I can see how it's plug & play for vehicles (trucks) normally equipped for towing, but I needed to cut off the ends and splice wire connections to get this to work with my 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. Overall it works well, although you become dependent on your phone and the phone app while driving. There was some hiccup with the official app in early 2024 when Curt transitioned app support to their parent company (Lippert), but I solved my issue with one email to their customer support. This works well, but if I could go back in time, I probably would have purchased a wired brake controller.

Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2020 Ford F-150
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at trailer, and today we're gonna take a look and install the Tekonsha P3 Prodigy brake controller on a 2020 Ford F-150. Now this vehicle does have the wiring harness, so you can get the pigtail specifically for this vehicle to make install easier. So this is a proportioning brake controller, meaning the amount that you apply to your vehicle will translate to the vehicle. So it's not an on and off switch, and that's gonna allow for smoother braking in your trailer and vehicle. Now, when mounting this, it's not necessary to be at any specific level, it has 360 degrees to be able to adjust to that. It's important though, that you have it facing straight in the path of travel.
What our customers are saying:
"Thank you very much, Great service!!!!!!!!!!"
