Purpose of Pink Wire in Harness for AirLift AL74000 Wireless ONE Air Bag Compressor System
Updated 12/26/2020 | Published 12/22/2020 >
Question:
On my wire harness there are 3 wires that go to the front of the vehicle, a red and black same gauge size wire and a smaller gauge, pinkish/red wire. Per the instructions, it sounds like you hook the black one to the negative terminal on the battery, and hook the red to the positive terminal of the battery with the provided inline fuse in between. So what do I do with the smaller gauge pinkish/red wire that’s left over? Thanks for any help

According to the linked installation instructions, the pink wire you describe is for an optional feature that will allow the # AL74000 WirelessONE compressor system to make adjustments as soon as the ignition is turned on. Otherwise, the system will only activate when the vehicle moves or when woken up by the controller or mobile app. Hardware to connect to the ignition is not included. This is a low-amperage circuit that should be connected to the output side of a 10A or smaller fuse-protected circuit.
If you don't care to use this feature, you can simply bundle that wire up out of the way and secure it with a zip tie.
