Super fast shipping!!

by:

Easy to install and add to the Yakima HoldUp to carry two more bikes! Shipped quick, would definitely buy again.

by:

Very happy with etrailer and the add on bike carrier. Excellent communication throughout and felt very comfortable though the shipping and receiving even though it was during shortages and covid.

by:

This rack is heavy once attached to the base unit, but ROCK SOLID! I have no worries of bikes shifting or bouncing around. It takes two people to install and remove the rack when set up for all four bikes. If i am only taking 1-2 bikes, I definitely remove this from the base unit to make it more manageable.

I have an older Holdup model, but this current one fits just perfect. They have improved the wheel strap design, and include a few extra parts—such as the hitch pin, and pin that locks the rack in the upright position. It was nice to replace a few beat up parts! The keyed locks did not match my original, but Yakima has a process to request new ones. Really happy with it—and glad etrailer doesn’t have an oversized freight charge for shipping!

by:

Great price on the +2 extender for my Holdup. Just installed with no issues, thanks to clear instructions from the etrailer.com website.

by:

Ultra heavy-duty setup and the weight capacity crushes everything else on the market. Pair the four bike setup (HoldUp and a Plus 2) with a BackSwing for the ultimate bike hauling experience. Works with large and heavy bikes, ala electric.

by:

So far, no problems. Easy way to carry 4 light bikes.

by:

Great to purchase from etrailer as always. Prompt service and delivery. Will always do business with them.

by:

Shipping was fast and was very happy with the price. Love the product.

by:

Super fast shipping. Arrived in 2 days. Excellent product. Function, fit and finish is great.

Great product and service. thanks

by:

by:

  • Replacement Tongue To Adapt Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack To 2 Inch Receiver Compatible
For your Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" Hitches - Platform Style - Tilting # Y02445, the Replacement 2" Hitch Adapter for Yakima Carriers # Y8890174 will not work according to my contact at Yakima and it is no longer available. Instead you would need the Replacement Tongue for Yakima HoldUp Bike Racks # 8880580 which will also allow you the ability to expand the rack using the Plus 2 2-Bike Add-On for Yakima HoldUp for 2" Hitches # Y02446 if you desire.

  • Quality Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for 4 New Mountain Bikes with Disc Brakes
Another 4 bike rack I would have you consider is the Yakima HoldUp, item # Y02443, along with the Plus 2 Adapter for HoldUp 2 Bike Carrier, 2 inch Hitches, item # Y02446. This rack is a wheel mount style for ease of loading and unloading the bikes and secures the bikes, keeping them from contacting each other or the back of the vehicle. This style is also a good choice for mountain bikes with suspensions because it is it does not compress the frame of the bike and wear the shocks.

If you have a black Yakima HoldUp bike rack or the 2-bike add on item # Y02446 you'll need one of the following wheel assemblies to replace an arm. The arms are not sold separately. These will not work on the HoldUp Evos. Replacement Rear Wheel Assembly for Yakima HoldUp Bike Carriers item # 8890281 Replacement Front...

To convert your Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches # Y02443 so that it will fit a 1-1/4" hitch receiver you need the Replacement Tongue # 8880581 along with the Hardware Kit # Y90195. Please note that when using this smaller tongue you cannot utilize the 2-Bike Add-On # Y02446. You will only be able to carry 2 bikes with the 1-1/4" tongue.

  • Comparing the Yakima HoldUp 2 and the Kuat Sherpa 2.0
Between the Yakima HoldUp 2, part # Y02443 and the Sherpa 2.0, part # SH22G, I personally like both, however, they are built around different bikes and uses. The Yakima HoldUp is a better rack if you have kids bikes, heavier bikes, or could possibly need a 4 bike carrier in the future. The rack is expandable to carry a total of 4 bikes with part # Y02446, or the two out of the base model. The HoldUp is also able to carry bikes with 14 to 29 inch wheels, covering a wide grouping of family...

  • Can the Thule Apex XT Bike Rack Carry a 50 lb E-Bike
While the Thule Apex XT 5 Bike Rack # TH9026XT does have a weight capacity of 150 lbs, this is for when it is fully loaded to 4 or 5 bikes (30 lbs - 35 lbs per bike). The individual cradles won't be able to handle a 50 lb bike so we'll need to find an alternative to transport your E-Bike. An alternative option from Yakima is the HoldUp 2 Bike Rack # Y02443 which can carry up to 2 bikes weighing 60 lbs each. The HoldUp has 3 generations. The first 2 were gray. I checked with Yakima and the extension, # Y02446, for the current generation black HoldUp is retro-compatible with the HoldUp (2009) 8002433 model. This is the version that only fits 2 inch hitches.

  • Comparing the Yakima HoldUp 2 Part # Y02443 with the Kuat Transfer 2
For your 2017 Lexus NX, the best bike rack for you is going to depend on the type of bikes you have and how often you plan to carry them. Both the Kuat Transfer 2 part # KU74FR and the Yakima HoldUp 2 part # Y02443 are excellent bike racks that will work well for you. However, I recommend the Yakima HoldUp as it has a bit more features that will work with your bikes and vehicle better than the Kuat Transfer will. For starters, the HoldUp can carry bikes weighing up to 60 lbs each whereas...

  • Recommended Add-On Kit For Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack
In order to add an extension to be able to carry an additional 2 bikes on a Yakima HoldUp bike carrier like part # Y02443, you would need a bit more than just part # Y8890279 and the wheel trays. You would need the upright masts needed to secure the bike frame to the extension, so I recommend part # Y02446 to make sure you have all the components needed to be able to carry 2 more bikes.

  • Maximum Tongue Weight Capacity of 2019 Honda Odyssey With Trailer Hitch for Bike Rack
The tongue weight capacity - or the most a bike rack and loaded bikes can carry - is going to depend on the specific trailer hitch. For your 2019 Honda Odyssey the best hitch to use for a bike rack is the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # E98855 which has a tongue weight capacity of 525 lbs. The etrailer hitch # E98855 is the best option to use a bike rack because it offers the best bumper clearance with a distance of just three inches from the hitch pin hole to the bumper, as you...
