if I have two trays that I removed from a different hold up, is this all I need to have a complete, functional extension?

In order to add an extension to be able to carry an additional 2 bikes on a Yakima HoldUp bike carrier like part # Y02443, you would need a bit more than just part # Y8890279 and the wheel trays.
You would need the upright masts needed to secure the bike frame to the extension, so I recommend part # Y02446 to make sure you have all the components needed to be able to carry 2 more bikes.
