RockyMounts 10003 MonoRail 2 Bike Rack

The RockyMounts MonoRail platform-style rack lets you easily carry 2 bikes using your 1-1/4" hitch. Ratcheting arms and adjustable wheel straps secure your bikes without contacting the frame. A front-mounted release lever allows you to tilt the rack down and gain access to your vehicle's rear cargo area, or it can fold the rack up for a simple storage solution. The included hitch lock secures the rack to your vehicle, and an integrated cable lock secures your bikes to the rack.

Wheel-Mount Design for Easy Bike Loading

RockyMounts 10003 MonoRail 2 Bike Ratcheting Arms

The rack allows you to quickly and easily load and carry 2 bikes on the back of your vehicle. The ratcheting arms securely hold your bikes by the front wheels so there's no frame contact. Simply push the button on the hook and slide it firmly into place over the front wheel. The wheel hooks are coated for grip and work with tire diameters up to 29".

Pivoting Rear Wheel Cradles with Ratcheting Wheel Straps

RockyMounts MonoRail 3 Bike Rack Wheel Straps

The pivoting rear-wheel cradle allows the rack to accommodate bikes with wheel bases up to 48" long. The cradle includes a ratcheting, rubber strap to hold your bike's rear wheel securely in place on the tray.

RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Rack with Fat Bike Straps

The MonoRail also comes with a wheel strap extensions that attach to the standard ratcheting straps to increase the usable length and secure wider tires. This allows the cradles to hold fat bike tires up to 5" wide.

Adjustable Bike Trays

RockyMounts MonoRail Adjustable Bike Trays

The front and back trays adjust 3" side-to-side to ensure you have enough space when loading your bikes. Just remove the bolts where the tray attaches to the bottom of the rack, slide the trays left or right to achieve the desired spacing, and then reinstall the bolts. This will prevent your bikes' handlebars from becoming tangled, and it eliminates the fear of bike-to-bike contact during transport.

Front-Mounted Release Lever for Easy Tilting

RockyMounts 10003 MonoRail 2 Bike Rack Tilted

The front-mounted release lever allows you to easily tilt the MonoRail. The rack tilts down with or without your bikes loaded for convenient access to your vehicle's rear cargo area

RockyMounts 10003 MonoRail 2 Bike Rack Folded

The lever also lets you fold the rack up for storage when you're not transporting the bikes. This is great for parking in places where space is limited such as a parking garage.

Easy Installation with Threaded Hitch Pin

RockyMounts MonoRail Hitch Mount Bike Rack

The MonoRail installs quickly and easily with a threaded, anti-rattle hitch pin. Simply slide the shank into your 1-1/4" hitch receiver, insert the threaded hitch pin, and tighten it down with the included tool. This will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

Complete Security

RockyMount MonoRail Built-In Cable Lock

The rack comes with a hitch lock and a cable lock to deter theft of both the rack and your bikes. The cable lock wraps around your bikes' frames and secures to the rack with the included lock core.

RockyMounts MonoRail Hitch Lock

The hitch lock simply snaps onto the hitch pin and locks in place. The cable and hitch lock are keyed alike, so you'll only need 1 key for both locks.

After a year of using this rack I am still quite happy with it. It is holding up well, is easy to use and holds the bikes securely. For such reasonable price this is a solid rack that I would highly recommend. 644068

Still very happy with this bike rack. It has held up well with no problems and I use it regularly. The tilt works great and is especially handy when I forget and put the bike on before closing the hatch Mazda CX-5.

Great platform rack. Very reasonably priced and compared to the competition I would say It is the best bang for you buck! 553224

This is the best bike rack I've ever owned. It's very simple and quick to mount bikes and they remain very secure and solid on bumpy roads and crossing RR tracks. No extra bungie cords or ropes required. We own1 ebike and there is no problem with the rack handling the extra weight. If you have an SUV you can still have access to open your back hatch door even with the bikes loaded because of the tilt feature. Your bikes can be locked to the rack as well as the rack locked to your vehicle with the locks and keys provided. I would recommend this rack to any one looking for something simple and secure. It's very well constructed. 870710

This bike rack is excellent! Saved me several hundred dollars compared to the Thule one I was going to buy at a local bike store, and it can carry about 100 pounds more, which I need with my wife's new e-bike. So glad a friend told me about etrailer.com, I will use them again! 851361

Received the Rockymounts in just few days from ordering. Rack is just as described (thanks for your excellent reviews and videos). An easy installation on Acura RDX 2019. Completed our first trip (100miles) with two bikes mounted on with no problems (I was a bit concerned about the weight on the 1-1/4 hitch). The feature we love the most is the ability to tilt the rack with the 2 bikes mounted, open the tailgate and get a clear/full access to car. On first impression this is a great rack. However we'll have to wait and see how it will preform in the long run. I was very happy with etrailer. Great communication and they immediately matched a lower price from other retailers. 803005

Have had a lot of use with this rack. Easy to load in car hitch. Couldn’t be simpler for securing the bikes. The raise and lower ability is helpful to open trunk easily. (Has previous rear trunk mounted rack that was a pain and near dangerous to open the trunk with the bikes on the rack.). I drive a Honda Accord 4 door. Recommend this rack highly. Really like it. Well made and worth it. 761768

Received a Rockymounts Monorail 2 in just a few days from ordering. My first impression after unboxing to assembly is this rack is well made and stout. Assembly was quick and had it on our older Outback in less than a half hour. The bolt mount to the 1&1/4" hitch is good and tight , no movement at all. Mounted my mountain bike in less than a minute, then my wifes all around and no interference although there is adjustment in the trays if needed. Drove around the block and am very impressed with the lack of movement. The release handle is cleverly placed and lowering the rack fully loaded is a snap and plenty of room to open the back door of the car. This is one well made good looking rack, highly recommended! Very happy with Etrailer 730224

Review from a similar MonoRail in Hitch Bike Racks

This is a really well-made rack that much sturdier than my last hitch-mounted rack. My only concern, before purchasing, was whether or not the 3rd bike, because of its distance from the hitch, might put too much of a load on my suspension, but my 2020 Outback only squatted a 1/2" or less with all 3 bikes loaded. (Note: the bikes are roughly 30 pounds each. See pics.) I only wish that RockyMounts would have included better locks. I know that locks only keep casual thieves from stealing, but these are really, really cheap. This likely isn't as problematic for the hitch pin (which is hard to see/get to) as it certainly is for the locking cable pin--which is much more visible. Still, this one shortcoming aside, I'm very, very pleased with this purchase. Plus, and I know this might not be the best reason to buy the rack, but it looks really nice in the folded-up position. Finally, I really appreciated the wonderful videos and email answers provided by etrailer.com, which helped me understand the numerous racks and pick the one that best fits my needs. 816352

Really like this bile rack, it is easy to put on the hitch, hold the bikes secure and like the handle to raise the hitch up. Hitch had a cracked brace but call Rocky Mount and sent a replacement part. 646517

Review from a similar MonoRail in Hitch Bike Racks

I was looking for a good two-bike platform rack for my SUV. I've used a couple other racks . . . one was an economy brand and the other an expensive Thule brand. But after spending a fair amount of time viewing etrailer's videos and descriptions I decided on the Rocky Mount Monorail. I received it yesterday. Assembly was quick and easy. The quality of the parts was excellent. The size, weight and profile fit the Goldilocks standard, of not being too big, or too small. It was just right! The accessible Blue pull lever makes loading and adjusting very convenient. Haven't yet traveled very far with the rack yet but based on overall design and quality I'm expecting it to be 'better than expected' 746428

The bike rack arrived in just three days..Instructions for assembly were very easy and the tools to put it together were included. It rides on the back of the MDC superbly, looks great, and is very easy to operate. Like another customer, I would have like the lock to be a bit more substantial, but it's functional. Truly pleased with the overall look, feel, and functionality. I would recommend it to anyone with one of two bikes to transport and I will probably get the add-on for the additional bike just in case. 702831

This rack rocks! Has been used on 3 different vehicles, one which went nearly 5000 miles with 2 bikes on the whole time. Zero problems so far. Have had 2 29” mtb bikes on it; have had road bikes on it; and have had 20” and 24” kid bikes. All fit great. Have purchased add on kit for a third bike but haven’t used it yet. 678593

Review from a similar MonoRail in Hitch Bike Racks

First, etrailer is a fantastic retailer. Their videos are very informative and absolutely influenced my decision on both product and retailer. Super-fast shipping was a nice bonus. On to the carrier. I read many reviews and watched dozens of videos to help me. Here's what I came up with: 1: Value - this was by-far, the best bang for the buck. Not only was this the best price on this particular carrier, it is the best deal on a premium-quality unit with great versatility and wonderful features typically reserved for units hundreds of dollars more expensive. 2: Super solid. The locking anti-locking hitch pin eliminates side-to-side sway entirely. The locking arms and wheel straps do a fantastic job in keeping the bikes from wobbling. One note:. Thinner tires will be allowed an inch or so of travel due to the width of the locking arms and front wheel chock. Nothing that caused concern, though. 3: Easy assembly (though the paper instructions never mention the assembly of the wheel straps on the rear tray) 4: Tilt mechanism is the most convenient of any tray-type carrier. It worked great and the release if located right in hands reach. 5: fold-up is very effective and easy. Also comes in handy for storage in the garage. 6: expandable to accommodate 3 bikes. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of this unit and especially at this sale price. My wife has thanked me a dozen times already for replacing our old hanger-style carrier. This configuration makes it so much easier for her to mount her bike so she can ride with or without me. 454349

Review from a similar MonoRail in Hitch Bike Racks

First, a review of: etrailer.com: I chose to order my RockyMounts Bike Rack from etrailers.com because of their excellent, VERY detailed videos which show installing and using the rack. The videos also include an outside camera view of the rack as the vehicle drives around a test course which simulates various driving situations. Side to side maneuvers, speed bumps, etc. Once I made the purchase, etrailer.com was very prompt in sending me a confirmation of my order, and letting me know when the order shipped. They also followed up with me once the rack was delivered. I couldn't be more happy with etrailer.com and will always look to them first should I ever need to purchase any other type of car racks. And now, a review of the RockyMounts bike rack: I am also VERY happy with the RockyMounts Monorail 2 Bike Platform Rack. The bikes are extremely easy to load and once loaded are rock-solid. There was minimal (if any) movement of the bikes on the rack as I traveled. I have a Chrysler Pacifica minivan and getting into the back of the van *without* having to take the bikes off the rack was a critical feature. The RockyMounts rack makes this easy by tilting the platform down using the blue handle under the platform. The platform release is at the front of the platform, as you face it, so there are *no* gymnastics required to release the the platform. Just bend over, pull the lever towards you, tilt the bikes down, and that's it. I'm into the back of my minivan in under 15 seconds! I've owned three other style bike racks over the years – trunk mount, roof mount, and trailer hitch where the bikes hang down off a bar. The RockyMounts Platform Rack is definitely the easiest to load, and definitely the most stable rack of all these. I couldn't be happier with the rack. 721950

Review from a similar MonoRail in Hitch Bike Racks

Exceptionally solid hitch mount / tray platform type bicycle carrier. I The instructions were very clear and complete - with one exception of the the tray straps and strap extenders (not shown/mentioned). Some basic assembly was required - again the directions were very clear and everything need was supplied in the package. I took my time and it only took 15 minutes. The bike rack is outstanding in design, quality of materials, construction and function. It's very solid in all 3 positions (carrying bikes, laid 'down' to open the tailgate, and 'stowed' in the up/close position when not carrying bikes. I've had bike racks from other 'big name' vendors - this Rocky Mounts rack is much better, and less expensive. 522596

Review from a similar MonoRail in Hitch Bike Racks

Rack and hitch (Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" - 75560 - bought separately) came in perfect condition. Hitch was a little difficult to install but this had more to do with my car being 12 years old. Pro tip: lube the muffler hangers with WD40 and get some ramps to give you room under car to work. Quality is excellent. The rack itself is awesome. I fit my sons 24" MTB and my medium full suspension on there in under 60 seconds. I did have to adjust the tray to avoid some interference but that only took a minute or two. The rack is very solid and well built. Little to no wobble on the way to the trails which included a bumpy access road. Excellent value for the $ compared to racks with similar features. 572585

Well built, solid bike rack. Like the additional strap extensions for fat bikes. Holds bike well. Only minor issue was that instructions did not reference the rear wheel straps, but easy to figure out. I like that the rack tilt allows access to the rear hatch of my Subaru Forester. 475321

working out great. Had issue with partial melt of one of the shepards hook melting due to proximity to my car exhaust. Able to get new part from manufacturer, repositioned hook, and all has been well since

Review from a similar MonoRail in Hitch Bike Racks

We've had our bike rack a year now and find it very convenient to use and strong. The one problem I have is that when I have both bikes on and tilt it down to get into the trunk of our Subaru Outback, I can't lift it back up if it's in the locked position. I must have my husband do that. Having to ask him makes me feel like a whimp and in general, I'm pretty strong. I still gave it a 5 star because it's easy to load both bikes and it folds down nicely so it doesn't protrude out the back when no bikes are on it. 635062

Review from a similar MonoRail in Hitch Bike Racks

RockyMount makes a quality, full-featured bike rack at a very reasonable price. Rack accommodates any size tire, carries 3 bikes (extender for third bike included, as shown), bikes lock down tight and don't move much on dirt roads, rack tilts up easily when not in use, and down when loaded in order to access trunk, comes with a detached cable that can be locked to the frame, and a keyed security nut that locks the rack to the hitch receiver. I am very happy with this bike rack. It pairs very well with my Curt Trailer hitch and my 2016 Hyundai Tucson. Great package from etrailer.com, and they were one of the more outstanding online retailers I've ever dealt with. They have my business now. 493295

  • Which is a Better Bike Rack Between the RockyMounts MonoRail and the Hollywood Racks TRS
Hollywood Racks makes a good bike rack. But with that said I am not impressed with the TRS # HR3000 or # HR3500. I find that the RockyMounts MonoRail # RKY10003 is the superior bike rack between the 2. I will say this about the TRS though; the hook design is compatible with bikes that wider forks compared to the MonoRail. The MonoRail is compatible with Class I hitches whereas the TRS is compatible with Class II only on the 1-1/4 inch side. Both are compatible with 2 inch hitches. All...

I really think RockyMounts makes a solid rack at a great price, so the Monorail 2 # RKY10003 is a good choice; additionally, it comes with both a hitch lock and locks for the bikes, so you're getting added protection for your investments. Unlike some bike racks the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10003 that you referenced is rated for the rougher ride quality at the rear of a motorhome so it would work great for you in that regard. This rack has 12 inches from it's hitch pin hole to the nearest edge of the rack so it would have great clearance too but you'd have to compare that measurement to your spare to make sure it would fit past that. • Do The Arms On The Rocky Mounts MonoRail Lock Into A Specific Angle If The Bikes Aren't Installed?
The RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10003 are not fixed and can move freely. You can keep them at the angle you want but you will have to move them when you load and unload your bike. Even on bike racks that have a center mast you'll often see the center mast having the capabilities of folding down. Most bike racks are design to fold into themselves for easy storage and or less length added to the back of your vehicle. If you have the locking arms up as if it were holding...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit for 2020 Mazda CX-30
There is a trailer hitch receiver that fits your 2020 Mazda CX-30, the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT64MR. This is a bolt-on installation that doesn't require any type of trimming of the fascia or bumper of your CX-30. I have added a link to the installation instructions for you to check out as well. The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT64MR is a Class I hitch, which means it does require a compatible Class I bike rack such as the Kuat Beta # B202-114, Swagman Chinook...

  • 2-Bike Platform Rack for Heavy Bikes Compatible with Class I Hitch
The Swagman Current 2 Bike Platform Rack part # S64678 is only compatible with class II and class III hitches so it most likely will not pin into a Class I hitch. For a similar rack that is compatible with a class I hitch, I recommend the Rola Convoy 2 Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" Hitches # 59307-2 because it shares many of the main features as the Current, so it tilts away for cargo access, folds for storage, and it also comes with a hitch and bike lock to protect your investments....

  • Comparing the Kuat Transfer 2 and RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Racks
I am personally a big fan of the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack part # TS02B for a few reasons. The first being that the center portion is open so you can walk right up inside of the rack and place your bikes in the cradles whereas for the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack part # RKY10003 you will have to stop at some point and lift the bike up and over the center section. The other reason I prefer the Kuat Transfer 2 is because it just has a more aesthetically pleasing look...

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit on 2020 Toyota Prius
The trailer hitch receivers that fit a 2020 Toyota Prius are the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24966 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11473. Of the two, I highly recommend the Curt # C11473 because it gives you the best bumper clearance and ground clearance, which is important for accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers to keep them safely away from your Prius while avoiding scraping the ground. Keep in mind these are Class I hitches so if you plan on using a bike rack,...

  • Platform Bike Rack for 2 Bikes and a 2012 Toyota RAV4
For your needs the Saris Freedom # SA4412B is going to be the best option. I think you will really like this rack. First, it is very light weight at just 22-1/2 pounds. That makes it easy to install/remove from the trailer hitch. It can fit 1-1/4 inch (Class II) and 2 inch trailer hitches. It can be locked but you would need to add locking hitch pin # SA3022, sold separately. You will not need an adapter bar for the woman's bike frame. It measures 12 inches from the center of the hitch...

  • RockyMount MonoRail 2 Platform Rack for 2009 Honda CR-V
A hitch adapter like the Brophy Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" # HTAD allows you to use the 2" shank on the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 # RKY10004 on the 1-1/4" on your 2009 Honda CR-V, but using a hitch adapter of any type reduces the tongue weight on your hitch by 50%. You'll need to check your owner's manual to confirm but you likely have a Class I hitch with a 200-lb tongue weight, so using an adapter will only allow you to carry 100-lbs total safely on the hitch. Since the RockyMounts MonoRail...

  • Recommended Wheel Mount Bike Rack With Locks for a 2014 Honda Accord
I do have an option for you but there is not a 2" trailer hitch available for your 2014 Honda Accord so there is no way to use the Hollywood Racks TRS SE 2-Bike Platform Rack part # HR3500. Instead, I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack part # RKY10003 which has all of the features that you liked and needed in the above; 60 lb per bike weight capacity, 1-1/4" trailer hitch compatibility, folding for storage, wheel mount, black in color, and it comes with both bike and...

  • Hitch and Bike Rack for E-Bike on 2015 Subaru Impreza Hatchback With Single Exhaust
Your 2015 Subaru Impreza hatchback with a single exhaust does have a 2 inch hitch available, the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7211. This is a pricier option, so if you are looking for a budget-friendly rack and hitch combo, you will want to stick with the best 1-1/4 inch hitch, which for your Impreza is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT24959. This hitch has better ground and bumper clearances than the Curt Hitch # C11286 that also fits your '15 Impreza so you...

  • Compatibility of Inno INH120 Tire Hold Bike Rack with Class I Trailer Hitch on 2020 Kia Soul
Although we do offer Class I compatible bike racks that would work with the Draw-Tite # 24985, I'm sorry to say that the Inno # INH120 Tire Hold isn't one of them. A Class I hitch has a stop welded into it that will prevent the longer shank of a Class II only rated accessory from being slid in far enough for the hitch pin holes to align. This is done to prevent higher rated Class II accessories from being used in the lower rated Class I. The Kuat Transfer, part # TS02G can handle two...

  • Comparing Inno Tire Hold 2 vs Rockymounts Monorail 2
Between the two bike racks you mentioned I would go with the RockyMounts MonoRail part # RKY10003 over the Inno Tire Hold # INH120 because the MonoRail is lighter weight by about 15 lbs and uses a wheel clamp design that is simpler and very secure. We've also gotten a lot of positive feedback on this rack from our customers so we know it's a great option. It also would work with the bikes you mentioned as well. The lifetime limited warranty covers the rack from any manufacturer defects...

  • Will Rocky Mounts MonoRail Bike Rack Fit 2017 Toyota Prius v With Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver
There is a RockyMounts 2-bike rack that will work for you, the RockyMounts MonoRail 2-Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" Hitches # RKY10003, which is compatible with your 2017 Toyota Prius v. The reason you need to use this rack is because the only hitches that fit your '17 Prius v are Class I hitches - the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11276 and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24847 - and these require the use of Class 1 compatible accessories. So while you technically could use a...

This is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver, and will work perfectly with the RockyMounts MonoRail 2-Bike Rack # RKY10003. The MonoRail is Class I compatible and has a 1-1/4 inch shank to fit right in your Draw-Tite hitch with no extra hardware needed. The Replacement Rear Wheel Assembly # 8890281 can accommodate 20" - 29" wheel diameters and up to 2-1/2" in width. So the diameter works but your tire width is slightly too much. This is a replacement wheel assembly for the Yakima HoldUp Bike Racks # Y02445 and # Y02443. If you are in the market for a bike rack I can make a few recommendations for you. • Bike Rack Options for Ebikes on a 2018 Acura ILX
The main obstacle when choosing a bike rack for your electric bike is finding one that can handle the weight. The average ebike weighs between 38 and 70 pounds, with most of them falling in the 45-60 range. This means the Thule Gateway Pro 2, part # TH88VR, will more than likely not be able to carry your ebike as its weight capacity per bike is 35 pounds. This is true for the vast majority of trunk-mounted bike racks as well. The only option to carry your bikes on your 2018 Acura...

Some manufacturers weld a stop in the receiver tube to prevent some 1-1/4 inch accessories not rated for class I hitches to physically not fit. However, the Rola Convoy 1 Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" Hitches - Wheel Mount or Frame Mount - Tilting # 59307 will work with a 50 lb bike and class I hitch receiver and I think it...
