When you’re not towing, this setup keeps things neat up front. The hidden bracket design sits within the grille area, protected from scrapes and out of sight. Once the drawbars are removed, only the streamlined brackets remain, giving the front end a clean, factory look without bulky hardware in view.
Connecting and disconnecting is a quick twist away. Each drawbar slides into the bracket and locks with a simple twist—no pins or clips needed. When you’re done towing, twist again and pull them out. It’s an easy process that makes road prep faster whether you’re at home or at the campsite.
This setup bolts directly to the vehicle’s frame for solid strength and precise fitment. The computer-cut, all-steel construction provides exceptional durability, while the black powder coat finish resists corrosion from weather and road debris. This crossbar-style base plate provides attachment points for your car- or motorhome-mounted tow bar and pairs seamlessly with Roadmaster tow bars when used with the quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00 – sold separately). If you use a Sterling tow bar, this crossbar connection is required to complete your setup.

This Roadmaster base plate was the easiest one to install yet! Total job took just over 3 hours. Etrailer shipped it in less than one week, can't wait to hook up the Fiat and take it on a trip.

All the hitch products are working great except on this trip the light kit quit working, I found that the electrical connections had corroded and broke I repaired all was good.
Good product. Only problem is: when the tow bar brackets are installed into the main reciever (mounted on the towed vehicle) they don't sit level across the top. I was worried the tow bar wouldn't mount. There was just enough adjustment in the mounting holes to make it fit. Other than that a good product and is hidden very well when not in use.

My only concern relates to Roadmaster's requirement to retorque all bolts every 3000 miles. On my car, removal of the facia was required to install the baseplate - meaning - the facia must be removed during all trips over 3000 miles - in the field. I find this requirement unacceptable. Facia removal was the primary requirement to install the baseplate and removal every 3000 miles requires a better solution from Roadmaster.
Ordered the Roadmaster Cross-Style Base Plate with Removable Arms Kit after reviewing the information on the etrailer web site. Nice video showing the product installed on our model of vehicle (Fiat 500). Ordering online was easy and shipping was fast with excellent communication through email and tracking.
After receiving my order, I then discovered the Quick Disconnect Tow Bar Assembly is not included in this model of base plate kit and has to be ordered in addition. I was able to determine after a phone call and email exchange with customer service. Interesting it is listed in the online catalogue as a replacement item.
High quality, heavy gauge steel crossbar that was very easy to to mount to the car frame. The Roadmaster brand is the way to go and the pricing at etrailer is great. etrailer's support and customer service is by far above the rest.
Seems to be well made. Bolted onto our Fiat 500 sport perfectly. Great installation instructions Looking forward to getting it on the road behind the motorhome soon

Great. There are several thousand miles on it and still works perfectly. Ken is right, retorquing the bolt is impossible

The mounting holes were off to the point I had to redrill larger to get the bolts to line up to tighten it to the frame. there was no way to install otherwise. thanks
Set up a Fiat 500 POP two flat tow with roadmaster tow bar and base plate. Service has been excellent and everything is working as it should Positive experience all around.

2018 Fiat Abarth install - Videos of install from etrailer helped a bunch. My 2018 fog lights on the Abarth required some trimming on the inside of the bumper cover. Photos in the instructions did not accurately depict my 2018 Abarth, but taking the grill and fog light assemblies off of the bumper cover allowed me to see what needed trimming. Basically a 1 inch notch with the dremel did the trick. I also got the rock guardian and falcon all terrain tow bar. super quick to assemble and disconnect. CLEAN LOOKING INSTALL WHEN EVERYTHING IS REMOVED.

Over the past year, i have towed the Fiat behind the motor home for 15000 miles or so. Rock Solid. Highly recommend. Ive had 2 blow outs on the motor home and the tread bounces off the Road Master Guardian without damaging the Fiat. The Guardian is scuffed and scratched and handling it well.
After comparing Demco, RoadMaster, and Blue Ox base plate costs, mounting procedures, etc for my 2012 Fiat Sport, I decided to go with RoadMaster (Kit #522013-1A) for two main reasons: 1) I had the tow bar and mount adapters from another product that were the same specs as the RoadMaster tow bar and adapters to attach to the base plate, and 2) no drilling or other modifications required to mount the base plates. Blue Ox (Kit #BX2800) required I buy their tow bar and other unique configuration adapters PLUS drill two half-inch holes on either side where the base plate mounted AND hammering flat the tips on the corners of the bumper bracket the frame where the base plate mounted. Blue Ox did provide better details on the removal of the facia and bolt removal and torquing actions required for the Fiat. My biggest challenge was the removal of the facia without damaging the clips or other damage to it. Once it was off, the action of removing the bumper core from the end of the frame rails and bolting on the base plate was slick! I took a little over 4 hours to do this, but it was because I wanted to do it right, without damage, and have the confidence I could tow without issues. (Not sure how sequence will show, but labeled the pictures as "Before," "Removal," "Installation," "Finished," and "Ready to Tow.")
