Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today, we're looking at our Access Rockstar Custom Mud Flaps with included heat shield. Folks, this also gives you a full width coverage on the back of these trucks that it fits, and you have an adjustable height as well and you have a diamond-plate finish. Now, these are a custom-fit application fitting 2020 through current GMC Sierras and Chevy Silverados, both 25 and 3,500 series, diesel only, so make sure you double-check that fit guide over at etrailer.com where it says My Vehicle Information and everything like your make and model, cab style, bed length, et cetera. Be sure you're getting the right parts the first time. Now, again, once this is installed, look something more or less like this.
Keep in mind this is just a generic version. It may not be the exact same truck, those kind of things, but it gets the picture across, I think. Now, this is a full-width mud flap and shield, so it's gonna shield everything you're towing from mud, rocks, debris. On the bottom left image there, you can see that steel bar across the back or aluminum bar rather, sorry, across the back. And then on the top right, that is what this looks like with everything trimmed out that comes that way, stock from the factory.
So, again, you're gonna have a bag full of hardware, right This is gonna have all your brackets that mount to the truck side and then go through the mud flap material, this 5/16-inch thick rubber, and that's gonna be what hangs onto the truck with just a couple of spring-loaded pins, or flip pins rather, that you can then pull off if you wanna take it off when you're not towing. You have the heat shield, of course, that I mentioned. You have two diamond tread covers here. And so, when these are installed, it's gonna be something more or less like this. Again, keep in mind I'm kinda limited on space here, so hopefully that does it justice.
You have those two pieces and then you have two, again, of these 5/16-inch thick smooth rubber, and they have some pilot holes pre-drilled into 'em. I'm sure you can't see 'em right now on the camera just 'cause they're so small, but they are pre-drilled. You will need to drill out to the large sizes that you need to fit the bolts and stuff, and the reason they do that is, depending on which specific year and truck, a few of them have different spots where those bolt holes may need to go so you don't want just meaningless holes all through the rubber. So, just a few extra minutes of installation on those few trucks that need that, but it's not a big deal. I've installed lots of these before, and quite honestly, it's between a 15-to-45-minute job because it just depends on the vehicle.
But putting the actual mud flaps together is pretty straightforward, pretty simple. Now, these are gonna maintain flexibility and temperatures as low as -40 degrees. So, again, this rubber is nice and sturdy, but it also does have flex to it, so that's really good if that's what you want. You want it to be flexible in all temperatures, you want it to be able to receive impact but not hurt anything else obviously, and it needs that flexibility to do so. And what I like about these kits, again, they are just heavy duty. They do offer commercial-grade options for different vehicles as well, which in my opinion, these are just as good, if not equivalent, to those commercial-grade styles that they offer as well. So, again, easy installation. You get that diamond-plate finish. And these two aluminum rods, you're gonna have both of these. One on the backside of each of these. And inside of this hard work kit, there's about a half-inch thick, I didn't measure, it's still in the bag. It's about a half-inch thick, it looks like, and about eight to 10 inches long, give or take. And that slides into this half so far, and then the other half will slide over there. And all that gets bolted together, so you have a nice, firm, steady support system on the mud flaps, making 'em just that much more robust. Well, folks, I think that's gonna wrap our quick look together. Again, this is gonna be a great option for you to protect what you're towing behind your truck. I'm Steve with etrailer. As always, reach out if you have any questions about this or any other products, and have a great day.
quick delivery! Outstanding!!
Worthy addition. Perfect position every time!
Received within days of ordering.Easy to install and trim-to-fit. Looks great??. Will most definitely protect my 5th wheel from damage.
These are very sturdy mud flaps and they really do a nice job cutting down the dirt and debris, especially rocks from beating up whatever is behind you. I trimmed mine with a regular box cutter knife and a straight-edge. Pretty easy to do. Mounting was easy and fit was perfect. I definitely recommend the extra wide version for getting it all. I mounted these on my 2017 Ford F350 SRW. Love them!
Couldn’t be happier with my rockstar mud flap...trailering my bass boat down the road with a little piece of mind knowing my mud flaps are protecting it from rock chips...I would not hesitate to recommend or buy this product again!!!
These are excellent heavy duty mud flaps. They will never sail at all. They even look great! I have had these on my truck for a year now and they still look just like new and still work perfectly. Since the bolts included with the kit are stainless steel, you MUST use an anti-seize product on them or they WILL gall and prevent you from getting them tight, or ever getting them off. I made that mistake. Bought new bolts and used the anti-seize and it worked great. You will never be sorry for purchasing these mud flaps.
Looks nice on truck, haven't backed it out of shop since I just installed over the weekend. Bolted up fairly easy to bolt up with the little women holding it plumb and level while I tighten nuts up. Will update after getting it out where I can get a look in the sunshine.
Great quality I would recommend this pr oduct.
This mud flap assembly worked perfectly in protecting our travel trailer from rock damage on our Alaska trip last summer - we had no damage to the trailer from flying debris during the 10,000 mile trip. I would highly recommend this assembly. My picture was taken towards the end of the trip.
Love the thing, but way overpriced for what you get. I got mixed up and thought it was in CND dollars, but it was US,with the exchange and duties it was over $[XX]. I'll be making my own next time.
The rockstar mudflap is pretty much bulletproof, I’m very happy with its performance and durability.
