On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs as well.

  • Can a 2013 Honda Fit Be Flat Towed
I have a copy of the 2013 Honda Fit Owners Manual that I found online, and it states that both manual and automatic transmission equipped Fit models can indeed be towed behind a motorhome IF the specific procedures shown are followed. You can find this information by doing a Google search on '2013 Honda Fit Owners Manual'. Be sure to read the instructions carefully and completely, as they're pretty specific and if they aren't followed to the letter, you can damage the drivetrain of your...

  • Best Supplemental Braking System for 2013 Honda Fit Towed by Motorhome With Hydraulic Brakes
Thanks for the kind words about the site and you can definitely get everything you need in order to flat tow your 2013 Honda Fit, including the supplemental braking system when you are flat towing it with your motorhome that has hydraulic brakes and not air brakes. Let's talk about the best and most reliable system, which is the Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This is a permanently mounted system that uses a vacuum pump, and though you mentioned a fraying cable,...

  • Recommended Flat Towing Components For A 2011 Honda Fit
To flat tow a 2011 Honda Fit you'll need the following components: Baseplate: Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519236. Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e34ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms to help prevent them from dragging on the ground. The head and shank also offer a bit of adjustability to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Fit. Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This...

  • Recommendation On Flat Towing 2010 Honda Fit And What Items Needed
Yes. From my research, your 2010 Honda Fit can be flat towed. You should verify with your owner's manual. The items needed to tow your Fit will include base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring, and a braking system. For your 2010 Fit, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Item # 521190-1 because it is designed for your vehicle. It also has twistlock brackets that are virtually invisible and can be removed. The Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain Item # RM-576 is a great choice that...

  • Can a 2009 Honda Fit w/ Manual Transmission be Flat Towed
I looked up the online version of the owner's manual for your 2009 Honda Fit and it says on page 238 that you can flat tow your Honda Fit. I recommend taking a look in your copy of the owner's manual to confirm this and to follow any specific instructions for flat towing. For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. I recommend going with the Roadmaster...

  • Can 2012 Honda Fit Automatic Transmission be Flat Towed
I did some checking and it looks like your 2012 Honda Fit with an auto transmission can be flat towed behind a motorhome but you have to be sure to follow all procedures outlined in the owners manual of the vehicle. I would recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, part # RM-520. The Falcon 2 is our best seller, and is easy to operate. The vehicle-specific base plate kit is part # 521190-1. I will link you to our video showing this kit being installed on a 2010 Honda Fit. For safety...

To flat tow your 2011 Honda Fit you will need a tow bar, base plates, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking. The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit, part # BX2253, will fit your Honda Fit, but since you already have the RoadMaster Sterling tow bar, I would recommend the RoadMaster EZ Base Plate Kit, part # 521190-1. • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2010 Honda Fit with Manual Transmission
The first thing you need to flat tow your 2010 Honda Fit is a base plate kit like the Roadmaster EZ part # 521190-1 which is a confirmed fit. In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon All Terrain, # RM-522. This has non-binding arms which makes the setup very easy to connect/disconnect. • Parts Interchangability for a Roadmaster Base Plate Kit on My 2009 Honda Fit
The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, part number 521190-1, is the correct kit for your 2009 Honda Fit. I am sorry but the base plate kits are sold only as a complete set. When the kits are manufactured the brackets are universal fit but the draw bar portion of the kit, while being very similar part to part, are specifically matched, for that base plate kit only. We do not sell the vehicle side brackets only.

  • Can 2015 Honda Fit be Flat Towed Behind RV
The final authority on whether or not your vehicle can be flat towed would be the owners manual and not necessarily that article you mentioned. Most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake # RM-9400 which is a proportional system.
