Question:
Hi...I just bought a 2010 Honda Fit with automatic transmission to flat-tow behind my Class A Winnebago Journey 34. My RV buddies all have Falcon hitches and swear by them as the best hitch for this purpose. I would like to know what Falcon hitch assembly I need to get in order to flat-tow this 10 Fit as a dinghy. Could you help, please? I need to know ALL of the parts I need to have, including the proper wiring assembly to attach to the 6-hole plug-in in the rear of this Winnie and the auxilliary braking system reqd. THANK YOU!

We have everything that you will need to flat tow your 2010 Honda Fit with automatic transmission behind your Class A Winnebago Journey 34. The Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, # RM-520, is a great idea and is one of our most popular tow bars that we sell. You may also be interested in the Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, # RM-522, as well. I have attached installation instructions and video links for both tow bars for you to compare.
The additional items that you will need are a base plate kit, safety cables, wiring harness and a supplemental braking system.
For a base plate kit, I would recommend the Roadmaster Base Plates, # 521190-1. These base plates are specifically designed to fit your vehicle and will work with the Falcon 2 tow bar. I have attached a video of our technician installing these base plates on a 2010 Honda Fit.
The Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System, # RM-8700, is our most popular braking system and can install permanently in your vehicle so that you will never have to remove, adjust or reinstall the unit each time you want to leave on a trip. I have attached a video on this system being installed. The vehicle is different from your Fit, but it should give you an idea how it installs.
You have a few different options when it comes to a wiring harness. You can use the Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit, # RM-155, which will require you to install additional bulbs in your tail light housing for brake and turn signals. You can use the 6-Diode Wiring Kit, # 154-792-118158, which will splice directly into your vehicle wiring allowing the use of the vehicles brake and turn signals.
The final wiring option is a Magnetic Light Kit, # RM-2120. This kit will not install on your vehicle, but mount using magnets and can be easily removed or attached. All of these wiring kits will also require a 6-way to 4-way adapter like part # HM47320 to use with your Winnebago.
Finally you will just need a set of safety cables, # RM-643, to secure your vehicle to your motor home. These are all of the items you will need to Honda Fit behind your Winnebago.
