Question:
Hello! I have recently acquired a motorhome from a family member. It came with a Falcon 2 tow bar that was used previously to tow a PT Cruiser. I have acquired a 2012 Honda Fit that I would like to tow in April. I need to see if I can get a base plate and necessary wiring for the Honda Fit. I believe the base kit, part #521190-1 is the one I need. Can u confirm this for me? Also any other items I would need. I would like to get this ordered as soon as possible. Thank u very much for time and consideration. Ken

Congratulations! Yes, the # 521190-1 is a match for both your 2012 Honda Fit and your Falcon 2 tow bar.
When setting up a car for flat-towing, it's important to not only have the right tow bar and baseplate, but also a braking system such as the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400 , the correct vehicle wiring such as the Hopkins # HM56302 Custom Wiring Kit, and a good pair of safety chains such as the Curt # C80151
Another thing you'll likely need after you install the baseplate is a high-low adapter for the motorhome's hitch receiver. Once the baseplate is installed, with both your vehicle and motorhome level, you'll have to measure from the ground to where the baseplate attaches to the tow bar, and then take the same measurement from the ground to the hitch receiver on the motorhome. You'll also need a pin and clip such as the Curt # C45804 to secure the adapter to the receiver. Until you have these measurements, it's difficult to recommend a specific adapter to you.
Determining the difference between these two separate heights will allow you know how much drop you'll need in your adapter. You'll also need to refer to Roadmaster's specifications as to how much the differences in these heights can be and still safely tow (there is usually a rather small amount of difference allowed before needing to adapt the receiver height).
