This setup is made for off-road towing where a standard ball coupler can rattle loose or pop free. The Lock N Roll hitch uses vehicle-side latching plates that interlock with the trailer-side coupler for a tight, secure hold. That close-fit connection keeps the trailer from separating, even when the terrain gets rough. It’s rated for 11,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 1,100 lbs maximum tongue weight, giving you solid capacity with a smoother tow over unpredictable trails.
A built-in bearing inside the head unit allows for 360 degrees of rotation when paired with the matching coupler. The connection also moves side to side and up and down, softening road shock and making turns and uneven ground easier to manage. Because the hitch and coupler pivot together, it reduces rattling, jerking, and noise compared to pintle or ball setups. Even at awkward angles or on uneven trails, you can hitch up or disconnect quickly without binding.
The hitch’s steel alloy build gives it the strength to handle repeated use in off-road or heavy-duty conditions. It’s finished in black paint to resist corrosion from moisture, mud, and road grime. The included attachment hardware secures the latching plates tightly in place, while the 2" x 2" shank fits cleanly into standard trailer hitch receivers for dependable towing every time.
Unlike a traditional ball coupler that fits any ball of the same size, this system only connects to another Lock N Roll component. That means your trailer can’t be hitched up by anyone without the same setup. Add a hitch pin lock or clip (sold separately) through its 5/8" pin hole to keep it locked to your receiver and you’ve got an extra layer of peace of mind when leaving your rig unattended.

Tested it on it's maiden voyage through the brutality of the Ozarks and it performed flawlessly.
I had to drill a new hole about an inch further up. The shaft gets a little larger towards the connection keeping the shaft from going in enough for the holes to completely line up. Worked fine after that.
One of the best products out there for hauling anything off road.

Missing the pin for the vehicle side of the hitch

So, this articulating trailer hitch does not come with a pin and clip for the vehicle side of the hitch. If you are wanting a plain pin and clip, I would recommend part # PC3. If you are wanting a locking hitch pin that would help protect your hitch accessories from theft, I would recommend part # BL7023582.

I always receive great customer service whenever I call etrailer. The hold time can be 5-15 minutes but the knowledge on the other end of the phone is worth waiting for. The lock n roll coupler is a proven and necessary piece of equipment if you are planning on taking your off-road trailer off the beaten path like I am.
The best investment if you don't ever want your trailer to pass you out on the trail. Never had a better hitch. Very heavy duty. Worth every penny
The articulating hitch system has worked great for my offroading needs. I've got a Rubicon and have no worries about taking my a Smittybuilt Scout trailer off the beaten path and finding some great dispersed camping spots.

Prompt delivery. It will certainly enhance my off road trailering experience. The only modification I made was to remove the needle style zerk fitting and replaced it with a standard zerk fitting. Makes for easier lubing the joint. Glad to be rid of my restrictive ball hitch.
Had the Lock n Roll hitch for a year. Many off road adventures towing our trailer. Has worked perfectly and find it easier to use than a conventual ball hitch.
We got it together with the trailer part/side; and the same: So far it resolved the problem we had. You just need to be careful when driving at speeds over 50 miles if full, because the trailer will be able to move in all axles if a sudden move/turn from your wheel; though you can add sway bars. We are glad we bought it and we may buy another one.
Some of the backroads we drive look more like a riverbed, and we worried about the twists and turns on our conventional hitch. The Lock N Roll hitch eliminates that worry. But the best part is the ease of hook-up. The Lock N Roll hitch is more forgiving in hook-up angle, and no more beating on the trailer mechanism to get it to grip the ball. Good heavy-duty product.

Great product. I’ve used it for a full season now and put it through its paces. I even did the rim rocker trail, which included some pretty intense terrain, and it worked flawlessly.
Both connecting lock n roll products are a great addition to my project roof top tent, utility, kayak mounted, Solar energy equipped overland adventure trailer. Not only has my travel range increased due to this go anywhere upgrade, but my trailer security and its value has increased also. I am a very happy customer. So.e fab work may be necessary.

Works amazingly
Replaced my hitch lost during an accide nt
It was pretty tight in the hitch and I had to use a rubber mallet to get the holes to align, but it wasn't hard and I'd rather a tight fit than a loose one
