solid, heavy, well-made

Exactly what I wanted and sooooo fast. It was ordered in the evening and delivered the next day!! I was shocked! Couldn't believe it came so fast.

by:

Well please with the product and delivery. You folks have been a pleasure to do business with all over business very good, from order to delivery. Thanks Charles

by:

I haven't actually put this product to use, yet, but it seems to be very well made with clean strong welds. Nice and heavy, and arrived looking like it was just made. And it's made in the USA!!! No Chinese steel. This will work perfectly with my sway control bar and hitch.

by:

It’s a well made hitch ball/anti-sway unit, but it would be even better if it was offered on a flat hitch set up rather than rise/drop hitch only, Is there a technical reason for that flat style isn’t offered? My trailer came with the trailer tongue anti-sway ball mount on the driver side. That leaves me a rise hitch only. Not ideal for all conditions.

by:

My first hitch with a small ball for a sway control bar. it does what it is supposed to do and etrailer ships promptly.

by:

Purchased this hitch as a companion for our Reese anti sway control. The small ball for the Reese sway control fits in the bracket and the 2” drop on the hitch is exactly what we needed to have our Jayco camper level when towing.

Continues to work perfect in conjunction with my Reese friction sway control

by:

I cannot use this ball mount because the shaft is too short that goes into hitch receiver on my one ton Dodge truck. It does not allow enough room between truck back bumper and ball to allow any trailer tongue to be put on ball.

COULD NOT USE THE ITEM!!!!!!!

by:

Lightning fast shipping, arrived packaged well and was exactly as described.

by:

Love this hitch. I can travel using a swaybar without having to try to handle a heavy hitch!

by:

Excellent Item! Will buy again.

by:

Was just what I was looking for.

by:

I purchased this for use with a friction anti sway device I installed on an enclosed V nose trailer. It worked well.

by:

Very sturdy, high quality.

by:

I ordered and received the ball mount and sway bar together. They were received very promptly and in excellent shape. They are very heavy, i.e., heavy duty. The bracket that was fitted to the trailer was about half a screw wider than optimal size for my smallish trailer but did fit. Installation was easy. The self-tapping screws functioned well. All-in-all, a 10 out of 10 experience.

My new hitch is working out great especially with the sway bar ball mount. So you dont have to get one welded onto your new hitch!

by:

This is the package that I received and I was very disappointed in the condition that I received it . But the unit it self was quiet nice and looks like it will work very fine for my use !

My wife is a member of "Sisters On The Fly" with four vintage trailers, so I have been a frequent customer of etrailer. I have never failed to get excellent customer service and top of the line products.

by:

This process simply could not have been simpler. It shipped the same day I ordered it and it was in my mailbox a day and a half later The video instructions as well as the print instructions were clear and concise and easy to follow. Both products were quality items, what you'd expect fro etrailer.com, and I would highly recommend this site for quick shipments and high quality products.

It worked okay, but ultimately I had to go another direction.

by:

It was delivered quickly. The price was excellent. I've owned this product before and it was stolen off my truck. I use it to pull a ultra lite 21foot trailer. The hitch and stabilizer bar work well together. I really like this product.

by:

This hitch has worked great for the Curt friction sway control for my pop-up camper. I tow with a Honda Ridgeline and this fits perfect and works as it should. I would recommend this to others.

Meriah also found this ball mount (with sway control plate) that is also rated at 7500lbs to match my class 5 hitch rating - this ball mount simplified attaching sway control from trailer frame

  • Can Volkswagen Touareg Use Weight Distribution When Towing
You will need to check your owners manual to see what the trailer towing capacity is for your Touareg. Many times the construction of a vehicle will restrict the amount of weight the vehicle can tow. I looked at a 2010 Touareg and the trailer hitch we have that is designed for the 2010 is the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 13220. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2 inch receiver opening. A technical note states that you cannot use weight distribution with this hitch. You will want...

  • Availability of Curt RockerBall Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab
Hey Vince, welcome back! Curt still has not put together a version of the # C45WR with a 2" ball. The only way to make this happen right now would be to order the Curt Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab # D320 and then add the Curt RockerBall Shock Absorbing 2" Hitch Ball # CU46FR. One of the side tabs hanging down on the RockerBall will have to be removed so it can fit properly on the ball mount with the sway control tab.

  • Options for Sway Control Tab for Ball Mount for Attaching Hitch Ball
Sounds like you are looking for the mount for the small ball of your friction sway control unit. You have a couple options like the part # D320 which is a ball mount that has the mounting tab attached to the side of the ball mount platform. We have the # 3442 which allows you to weld a tab onto your current ball mount, or we have the # RP26003 which fits between the ball mount platform and the hitch ball.

  • Volvo XC90 Incompatible with a Weight Distribution System
Using a weight distribution hitch with your Volvo XC90 would be strongly discouraged. Weight distribution hitches redistribute some of the load from the rear axle of the tow vehicle to the front axle, that force has to be transferred either through the vehicle's frame (for a body on frame vehicle) or its unibody (for the XC90). Weight distribution hitches are used for hauling heavier trailers your Volvo is not considered a heavy duty hauler and has a maximum speed of 50 mph while towing. An...

  • How Does a Second Friction Sway Control Unit Get Installed on a Trailer
You are correct, adding a second sway control bar, like the Curt Friction Style Sway Control, # 17200, is recommended for trailers over 26 feet long. You will need to use the weld-on friction sway control tab # C45822 or # 3442. It will get welded to the side of the ball mount. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder. Once welded on it will look like ball mount # D320 except the tab will be welded to the other side (since the plate you are using is occupying...

  • Is a Weight Distribution Hitch System Required When Towing a Airstream Trailer Weighing 4,300LBS?
A weight distribution hitch is not required for towing any trailer but they do make it safer. I personally have never liked the round bar style hitches like Husky makes and always recommend units like the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-0800 since it uses a straight bar. These do not hang down a low as the round bar systems so they will not drag going over speed bumps or when you hit pot holes. As long as you are staying within your towing capabilities and your Tacoma is not overly sagging from...

  • Where to Measure to Determine Correct Rise/Drop for Ball Mount
Since there aren't any zero rise/drop ball mount options (shockingly) you might verify that your setup was measured in the right spots. You'd want to measure from the bottom of the coupler lip down to the ground when the trailer is level and then from the top of your hitch opening down to the ground. The part # D320 has a drop of 2 inches and comes with the tab needed for friction sway control. This probably would be close enough to what you'd need.

  • Is There A 4" Drop Or Rise Ball Mount With A Sway Control Tab?
Hi Tim! I do have a couple options for you, but Curt currently does not offer the Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab # D320 with a 4" drop or rise. I couldn't find one from other manufacturers either. What you will need to use is either the # 3442 and have it welded on, or use the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts # RP26003 (which is what I would do as it is a lot easier). Either of these could then be paired with the Curt Dual Length Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 4-1/2" Rise, 5-3/4"...

Hey Larry! The Reese Friction Sway Control Kit item # 83660 attaches to ball mounts like item # D320. There's no welding. • Effect of Using Extra-Long Ball Mount for Towing
Use of an extra-long ball mount like # 80232 will not reduce a hitch's towing weight capacity the way that use of a separate extender/adapter will. Weight distribution hitch systems such as # C17501 should not be used with any type of hitch extender or adapter. The anti-swivel base on the # C45WR is missing a tab on one side to make it compatible with the sway control tab. This does not adversely impact the performance. You can use the # C40047 with the # D320 but you would have to bend or cut one of the tabs off of the anti-swivel base to make it fit since it is not available without the tab for the 2" ball.

Thank you for pointing out this error, I was able to verify with the owners manual for your 2019 Audi Q7 you should never use a weight distribution hitch and removed the old question. The best way for you to help reduce/prevent sway is by using a Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000.
