  • Recommended Gen-Y Hitch for 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 and Trailer with DO45 Coupling
It looks like the pin part of the DO45 (which takes the place of a standard hitch ball) has a shank with a 1-1/4" diameter so I recommend using the Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount # C45340 with a Gen-Y hitch as this ball mount has up to a 17K towing capacity. For the Gen-Y hitch it all depends on the height of the trailer and if your 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 is stock height or not. If your Chevy is stock height then you should be just fine with the Gen-Y Shank # 325-GH-303 which gives...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty Hauling Car Trailer
I would love to get you the correct hitch and ball mount for your F-250, but could you tell me what year your F-250 is? I would need to know that in order to get you the correct hitch.

  • Will the Curt RockerBall Fit on the C45340 Ball Mount?
As long as the Curt RockerBall has a 1 1/4 shank, like the # C29FR, you will have no issue installing it on the # C45340. With you using a ball that moves though, I highly suggest adding on the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch # RM-061. This will keep the # C45340 completely stabile while in use.

  • Can the Ball Mount # C45340 be Ordered with the Curt Hitch Ball # C40008 Already Installed
I do have a solution for you, but we do not install parts like the Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount # C45340 and 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40008 before shipping them out. Any ball mounts that come with a hitch ball installed come like that directly from the manufacturer. If you do not need the full 17,000 lb capacity of the ball mount # C45340 that you referenced then you can use the Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount # C45331 which is essentially the same exact ball mount with a 2-5/16" hitch...

  • 2-Inch 16K-Rated Ball Mount with Minimal Amount of Drop
The Curt 17K-rated Ball Mount # C45340 that you referenced has 1-inch of rise or 2-inches of drop depending on how you choose to use it. This is a Class IV ball mount. The other Class IV option with a capacity near to this (16K) and with NO drop or rise is Gen-Y item # 325-GH-051. This ball mount has two built-in hitch balls, a 2-inch and 2-5/16-inch, that are integrated into the ball mount. There is no need to purchase separate hitch balls or to deal with torqueing the hitch ball. We...

  • Heavy Duty Hitch for 2021 4500 Chevrolet Express Cutaway
I recommend the Curt item # C15320 trailer hitch for your 2021 Chevrolet Express 4500. This is a 2 inch class V hitch with a 16000 lbs towing capacity, 2400 lbs tongue weight, and is the heaviest duty hitch for your van. You're going to need a wiring harness to power and control your trailer lights and potentially other functions. I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 55540. If you're looking to have wiring for both a 4 flat...

  • 50 mm Hitch Ball and Ball Mount for 2022 BMW X5 with 2 inch Hitch
For a 50 mm hitch ball like you need for your European Thule Easy Fold XT you'd want the Brophy Hitch Ball part # EH53C-C. Then for a ball mount the Draw Tite part # BWBMHD30210 would work great if you had a 2 inch hitch installed like the Draw Tite part # 76288 that is a confirmed fit for your 2022 BMW X5.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 1998 GMC Pickup with 10 Inch Deep Drop Bumper
To get the highest towing capacity available on your 1998 GMC Truck I suggest the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15317. This hitch has a gross trailer weight of 16,000 pounds and maximum tongue weight of 2,400 pounds. Of course you'll want to verify your truck's towing capacity since it will be the limited factor. All of the hardware is included to bolt this to your truck's frame. If you also need a ball mount, # C45340. This will keep you around the same weight capacity as...

  • Recommended 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball for Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount # C45340
The Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount for 2 Inch Hitches # C45340 referenced in your question has a ball hole diameter of 1-1/4 inches. You will just need to make sure that the hitch ball you choose will fit this opening. For example, the B&W 2-5/16 Inch Hitch Ball # BWHB94050 has a shank diameter of 1-1/4 inches, so it will work well with the Curt Ball Mount. The shank length on this hitch ball is 2-1/2 inches, which is also compatible with the platform thickness on the Curt Ball Mount....

  • Are there Stainless Steel or Aluminum Ball Mounts
There have been stainless steel ball mounts in the past but they were pricey so aluminum is the way to go now. Aluminum offers corrosion resistance, lighter weight, and a lower cost compared to stainless steel so it would make a good option for you. I have included a link to the right to the aluminum ball mounts we carry. I have also included a link to a help article that covers how to measure to get a ball mount with the proper rise or drop needed to tow a trailer level. Aluminum ball...

  • Are There Any Made in the U.S.A. Heavy Duty Ball Mounts for 2" Receivers Available?
No. While Curt is an American company and manufactures a great deal of their products in the U.S.A., the Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mounts like the # C45340 is not one of those products. If you're looking for a ball mount that is made in the U.S.A., the B&W Heavy-Duty Ball Mount # BWBMHD30010 has a 16,000-lbs capacity and the same 1" rise/2" drop as the Curt model you were looking at.

I do have a trailer hitch receiver for your 2003 Freightliner Sprinter but the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13388 is only confirmed to fit a Sprinter from 2007-2018. As you have a 2003 the correct hitch for you is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 14250. If you plan to be towing a trailer in the future then you will also need a wiring harness and ball mount/hitch ball. • Solution for Needing Curt Ball Mount and Hitch Ball in 1 inch Drop Position Over 1 inch Rise
Since we do not have a version of the # C45331 with the setup in the rise position instead of the drop position your best option would be to remove the ball and reinstall it in the rise position or go with the part # C45340 and # C40008 which you could then attach to the ball mount in the rise position. The demand for ball mounts in the drop position is much more than in the rise position as tow vehicles generally are getting taller and taller while trailers mainly are staying same height....

  • How to Torque Hitch Ball When Installing into Ball Mount
We don't have a combo of the Curt Hitch Ball # C40008 and Curt Ball Mount # C45340. The ball mount is extremely heavy-duty, rated up to 17,000 pounds. I think it's safe to assume you don't have a torque wrench rated up to 450 foot pounds just laying around. In which case you'll never really measure it at 450. When tightening the ball you want to make sure you get the lock washer so that it's completely flat. One way to help you do this is to put the ball mount in your hitch receiver...

You really only would need a higher capacity ball mount and you'd be set. For that we have the part # C45340 which has a 2 inch drop or the part # C45341 which has a 4 inch drop. • Is it Okay for Ball Mount to Move in Trailer Hitch Receiver Some
What you are describing is actually pretty normal for a ball mount. There is almost always some tolerance between the trailer hitch receiver and the ball mount (or accessory) being installed which is why there are a variety of anti-rattle devices out there. Some accessories and ball mounts come with them built-in but if you have a standard ball mount there are aftermarket anti-rattle devices you can use. Technically the tolerance you have is fine but if you want to get rid of it we do have...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation With Near Zero Rise/Drop
The ball mount we have that has the closest rise/drop to 0 is the Convert a Ball part # AMSC2 which has a rise of 3/4 inches when fliped in rise position. With the tongue weight of the trailer loaded this should compress the vehicle suspension enough that you'd be right at level. For a 2 inch ball you'd then want the part # 40038 or for a 2-5/16 inch ball part # 63847.
