Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: 6" Rise or 8" Drop

Getting the right height match between your truck and trailer makes a world of difference. This Curt ball mount gives you both a 6" rise and an 8" drop, so you can tow level whether your trailer sits high or low. Keeping things level helps your trailer track straight and keeps weight even across the axle so it handles better on the road.

Built for Real-World Loads: 5,000 lbs GTW and 500 lbs Tongue Weight

When you’re hauling gear, boats, or campers, you need a mount that’s up to the job. In the drop position, this mount is rated for 5,000 lbs gross towing weight and 500 lbs tongue weight. In the rise position, it handles up to 3,500 lbs GTW and 350 lbs tongue weight. It’s tough steel built for reliable performance when you’re pulling real loads.

Simple, Solid Design: Fixed Ball Mount That Just Works

Sometimes simple is best. The shank slides into any 2" hitch receiver and stays secure with a standard 5/8" hitch pin. There are no moving parts to loosen or adjust—just set it up once and tow with confidence every time. The solid steel platform gives your hitch ball a sturdy mounting point that doesn’t flex under load.

Fights Rust and Road Grime: High-Gloss Black Powder Coat

Salt, water, and dirt are all part of towing life, but this mount is ready for it. The corrosion-resistant, high-gloss black powder coat finish keeps it looking clean and helps protect the steel underneath from rusting out over time. It’s durable enough to handle long-term use through all kinds of weather without extra fuss.

Extra Length for Easy Clearance: 11-1/2" Long Shank

More length means more flexibility when hooking up different trailers or accessories. Measuring 11-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, this mount gives you extra clearance behind your vehicle—handy when you’re working around a trailer jack or just need more room for gear at the hitch.

This drawbar arrived very quickly and well packaged. The 6" rise was perfect for my use, and was very well constructed. I use a Gravely JSV to pull wood chippers, log splitters, etc., around my acreage and the rise allows the equipment to pull level. I have purchased from etrailor.com a number of times and have always been pleased with the service!

by:

Very happy .It is made out of heavy duty materials that will last last forever.

by:

Again, Will the eTrailer rep really helped me get exactly what was needed for my application which was a little out of the ordinary. I could tell he had the knowledge and experience to direct me to the correct solution.

A-OK

by:

I ordered the Curt Ball Mount w/6"rise, 8" drop as I had a special need as my van had a lower hitch attachment than my full side truck. The Ball mount provided the exact clearance that I needed to tow as I was able to use the 6" rise side to raise the attachment point on my van. Very happy with my purchase.

by:

Heavier than expected. Have a little trailer so this is overkill. Rated for 5000 lbs. You will pull your truck apart before hurting this hitch.

Awesome. Have a bumper hitch and it broke my bumper.

by:

This was a real saver for me. I traded up to a taller vehicle and my old ball mount was not long enough to tow the trailer horizontally. The new ball mount and ball solved the problem

  • Can 2018 Tesla Model 3 with etrailer Hitch Tow DK2 Mighty MultiFrame Trailer
Hey Robert, I looked up the weight of the DK2 Might Multi Frame and it is pretty lightweight at 451 lb. so it would pretty easily be able to be towed with the etrailer hitch # e33ZR. It looks like the coupler height of that trailer is 16 inches and based on the hitch height of the e33ZR you'd need a rise ball mount of 6 inches. For that we have the part # C45090 and then for the correct size ball you'd need the part # 63845. Since you have trailer wiring covered already you should be good...

  • What Ball Mount Do I Need To Tow My Boat Trailer With My 2013 Toyota Sienna
Happy to help, Tom! Thanks for sharing your measurements, that makes this a lot easier to dial in. Based on what you provided, you’ll want a ball mount with about a 6" rise. The Curt Ball Mount # C45090 is a great fit for that. I’m going to assume your trailer has a 2" coupler, so you’d also want to pair that with a 2" Hitch Ball # C40004. To get everything hooked up, you’ll just need a hitch pin as well. The standard option is # RD23GR, or if you’d prefer a little extra security, there’s...

So what you need is the correct ball mount rise/drop that will allow your trailer to be towed level. If you did need a ball mount with a 6 inch rise we have the # C45090 though. For hitch balls you would want part # 63845 for a 2 inch ball or # 63847 for a 2-5/16 inch ball. I attached an FAQ that details how to pick out the correct ball mount. Picking out the correct ball mount will allow your trailer to sit as level as possible. Basically you will first measure the height from the ground...

  • Recommended Fixed Ball Mount For 6 Inch Rise
It is absolutely safe and legal to use a ball mount turned over to make a rise in the hitch height. For a 6 inch rise, I recommend using the Curt Ball Mount - 6" Rise, 8" Drop - 11-1/2" Long - 5,000 lbs # C45090. The weld is secure using a rise or drop. You simply need to reverse the hitch ball. For a 2 inch hitch ball, I recommend # 63845 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 63847. If you are looking for more versatility in options, I recommend and adjustable ball mount like the Curt Adjustable...

  • How to Choose the Correct Ball Mount for a 2017 Subaru Forester
In order to choose the correct ball mount you will need to measure from the ground to the top of the inside edge on the vehicle's receiver tube opening and then compare that to the distance from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on the trailer while level. The distance between these two measurements will give you the correct amount of rise/drop you will need to look for in a ball mount. For a ball mount with a 5" rise I recommend part # C45336 and for a ball mount with a 6" rise...

  • Can the 8 Drop Dual Hitch Adapter Be Used for Towing
I do have an option for you but none of the dual hitch adapters that provide adequate drop can be used for towing. Instead, you'd need to go with a standard ball mount with the drop you need like the Curt Ball Mount part # C45090. Then, you can carry the rod rack on the tongue of the trailer (if a-frame) with the Swagman Straddler part # S80503 or on the front of the vehicle with a front mount trailer hitch, the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31028.

  • How to Pick Out Correct Rise/Drop Ball Mount for 2016 Honda Odyssey
When determining the amount of rise/drop ball mount you'd need the two dimensions you need are the distance from the top of the hitch opening to the ground and from the bottom of the trailer coupler when it's sitting level. The difference between those two dimensions is the rise/drop you'd need. So for sure we know the hitch measurement is 12 inches. • Ball Mount With 6 Inches of Rise for 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver
Since your trailer's coupler height is 18 inches, and your hitch height is 12-1/4 inches, you are correct that you would need a ball mount with 5-3/4 inches of rise. That said, you do not need to have the exact amount of rise (or drop) for your ball mount, and being within an inch or so is perfectly fine. So I recommend a ball mount with a 6 inch rise, the Curt Ball Mount # C45090. To mount it to your hitch you can use Pin and Clip # PC3 but I recommend locking for protection with the...

Another option since you're not positive exactly how your trailer is going to sit when hooked up is to go with an adjustable ball mount.
