Question:
Hi - Ive got a Curt Class III hitch on my 2012 Toyota RAV4 - I got rear-ended, and the body shop installed a new hitch - I believe the same one - but it seems that its somehow a little bit lower than the old one was ? at 10-3/4inch to the top of the 2inch hitch receiver hole. I cant seem to find a 5-1/4inch rise hitch that will bring the height to 16, which is the coupler height on the trailer Im buying. One of the adjustable hitches gives up to a 6-1/4inch rise, but the holes are spaced 1-1/2inch apart - so that wont get me right at 16. Can you please make a recommendation? Thanks

Expert Reply:
For a Class III ball mount with 6-inches of rise use part # C45090 from Curt. We do not have one with the exact 5-1/4-inches you want but that small difference will not matter.
You are correct that you want your trailer to be as level as possible to help minimize sway. Careful loading (to maintain a tongue weight of 15-percent of gross trailer weight) will also help.
