Question:
Have a 2017 Subaru Forester with 2 inch rec/3,500 towing capacity hitch. Changed cars from a HONDA Pilot 2 inch rise TO A 2017 SUBARU Forester lower height car. I am Towing a 14 foot boat and trailer combined weight 700 lbs. Need a 5or 6 inch rise with a 2 rec and 2inch ball to equal height on Honda Pilot.. Measured 17 inches from ground to bottom hitch

In order to choose the correct ball mount you will need to measure from the ground to the top of the inside edge on the vehicle's receiver tube opening and then compare that to the distance from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on the trailer while level. The distance between these two measurements will give you the correct amount of rise/drop you will need to look for in a ball mount.
For a ball mount with a 5" rise I recommend part # C45336 and for a ball mount with a 6" rise I recommend part # C45090. You will also need to use the hitch ball part # 40038 and hitch pin part # C21510 with either ball mount. If it turns out that you need a different rise/drop then I have also attached a list of our 2" selection for you as well.
