Question:
Hello, I have a class III, 2inch hitch on my Honda Odyssey with a tongue weight of 675 lbs. When I hook my accessory/small atv trailer to it approx 335 lbs loaded, the end of the carrier sits very low to the ground. What adapter or device is recommended to offer a safe height rise of around 6 inches or more? You have the best website and expert info Ive seen, so Im so glad I found you guys and appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you!!! PS - I just ordered a set of airbags from you guys, and although that will help, I want to ensure a safe hitch riser as well.

So what you need is the correct ball mount rise/drop that will allow your trailer to be towed level. If you did need a ball mount with a 6 inch rise we have the # C45090 though. For hitch balls you would want part # 63845 for a 2 inch ball or # 63847 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
I attached an FAQ that details how to pick out the correct ball mount. Picking out the correct ball mount will allow your trailer to sit as level as possible. Basically you will first measure the height from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the hitch while on level ground. Next, you will measure the coupler height from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler when the trailer is on level ground.
Next, you will need to compute the difference. If the hitch height is greater than the coupler height the difference is the drop required. If the coupler height is greater the difference is the rise required. You will want to pick the ball mount with the rise/drop closest to the difference.
There really is not a maximum length of a ball mount that is considered safe. You will need to consider the height of your vehicle and not get one with a drop that would put the ball mount platform to close to the ground.
