It is likely that your 12 foot aluminum boat will fit between the load stops on the Erickson ladder rack # EM07706. The crossbars on this rack are 78 inches long and you could mount the load stops on the outside of the ladder rack uprights for even more adjustability. Take a look at the video I have linked showing the rack on a 2013 F-150.
Technically you could put anything on the Erickson truck bed ladder rack # EM07706 as long as it is within the 800 pound weight capacity and the load was properly secured. On a boat you will need to secure the bow and stern so I recommend tie down kit # TH855XT.
