What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this Rhino Rack Anchor Strap with the cam buckle strap to help you tie down a standup paddleboard or a kayak. So what you get with this kit is gonna be a anchor that goes in the hood of your vehicle. So you have the anchor portion here that's being held under the hood, and this loop gives you a point to tie down to with this cam buckle strap. And that's helpful because you can't always have a tie down point on the front of your vehicle. This is gonna be unobtrusive and out of the way, and not permanent.

So you're just slam in there, forget about it and now you have a loop to tie down to. Now you also get the strap with this kit. So it's a cam buckle strap, but I like all the additions to it, so I'm gonna get rid of the extra here so you can have a better look. So we have a sleeve that's gonna go over the strap, so that'll protect your vehicle. Really important here on the hood.

Or else the cam buckle strap will be resting right here when I go to tighten down as much as I can. The cam buckle's also coated in rubber, so even if it was to make contact without the sleeve, now we've got the strap in the way right there but it's not gonna instantly just scratch the hood of the vehicle. So I like that there's that protection right there to really protect the hood of my vehicle. The cam buckle strap length's gonna be just under 15 feet so that's gonna give you plenty of length to tie down either the longer standup paddleboards or the kayaks like we have here. Now let's go into how to set it up.

So you have the anchor portion here. You wanna put this on the inside of your hood, so the strap and this loop hang on the outside, and that's gonna be 11 inches for this loop. So plenty to get outside of the hood, even though this is kind of the inside. You don't wanna put it here 'cause then the hood won't close, but here's gonna be just fine. So just shut the hood on it.

And see it's in place. And loop, there's plenty of it out there to attach to our strap. We got your tie down point on the front of the kayak that we ran the strap through already. Coming down here, I wanna show you, I like that this sits this way on the vehicle too. The pad just protects the vehicle from the strap and then the cam buckle has that rubberized part so I don't have to worry about it hitting the side of my vehicle here. It's not just gonna be metal and metal contact. So what we're gonna do is bring this through the loop. Make sure you don't get the strap twisted. Bring it up through the cam buckle. Just pull tight. You can adjust where the sleeve goes here as you tighten it up. Now with your extra strap, you don't have to tie it down to the same strap. I like that it has the hook and loop portion here. So we just run that over here over the strap. Bring the side over around here and it's tied up. Now these straps come in quantity of one. So you get one anchor with one cam buckle strap. So if you want for the front and the back of your vehicle, you wanna order two of these. The straps themselves are gonna be made out of a polyester webbing, so they're really durable material. You don't have to worry about them ripping or tearing easily. Overall, I do like this setup. I like the kit comes with the cam buckle strap. And, the anchor with the loop you're gonna need. I like the extra precautions of the strip here to protect your vehicle and the rubber coated cam buckle here.
