This rope ratchet lets you quickly, easily secure a wide variety of cargo. The ratchet mechanism allows you to tighten the rope without having to stretch it or tie knots. Just hook the end of the rope to an anchor point and pull the rope tight.

Speaker 1: Today were going to be taking a look at the Erickson Rope Ratchet Tie Down, rated at 150 pounds, part number 01800. This ratcheting rope tie down has a wide variety of applications. Whether youre securing lumber, pipes or kayaks to the roof of your vehicle, or loading up gear and accessories into your roof mounted or hitch mounted cargo carrier. It has two hooks on both ends, which allows you to conveniently attached . very quickly you dont have to loop anything or out anything, just hook it right to an attachment point, and then pull tight, youre ready to go.Theres this little silver lever here, which thats whats going to allow you to release that ratcheting mechanism in there, when youre ready to loosen up your load or unload your gear from your vehicle. The rope has this nicely braded heavy-duty rope here, which is rated at 150 pounds.
The rope itself is 7-1/2 feet long, 5/4 inch in diameter. Now we can go ahead and use the rope to secure our gear. Now you can see here, we have a whole bunch of camping gear and luggage loaded up into a hitch mounted cargo carrier. Again, this ratcheting rope tie down has another great way that you can secure, maybe a kayak, a small boat or any pipes, PVC, lumber on the roof of your vehicle.Basically what were going to do is just use that silver tab, silver lever to get us some slack here, then well just hook one end, that silver hook into a connection point of our carrier. Once we have both sides in place, then we can just take the open end of it and pull it tight.
Youll see that ratcheting mechanism is going to secure the rope nice and tight, then just to release it like when we arrived at our camp site, youll just push on this little lever here, thats going to free it up and you could see that you can easily pull the rope out, and remove our gear. I have ordered approximately 8 of these ratcheting tie-downs and two of them have failed. Etrailer replaced the first one but claims the other is out of warranty. With a 25% failure rate I would not reccommend these ratcheting tie-downs or etrailer to a friend
One of the nicest ratcheting tie downs I've used. It is also great for hanging piping etc where the height is critical and the ratchet system allows you to adjust to the perfect position one click at a time, and then holds that position. Great all around tool in multiple sizes. Fast action allows you to shorten quickly as opposed to slower ratcheting straps. The release is fast also. Stores in a small area.
Just what I was looking for!
I actually took the 'buckle' from the rope and used it on my boat cover rope. I had replaced (rethreaded) the rope and need a tightening feature. Works great and don't have to strain when pulling through the buckle. And the release feature makes it easy to remove the cover.
great product works as advertised, I use the Erickson tie down/ratchet to hold television gear on my cart....once the Erickson is on and reefed down....nothing moves!! When working in NYC, many buildings won't let you roll gear through with bungee cords as tie downs...this product is the perfect solution!!

This is a lot better than using rope to tie my kayak bow and stern to my vehicle. Saves time loading and unloading.

These things are great for a quick secure tie down. Beats using a ratchet strap for smaller loads.
Had to replace a lost tie down, this replacement is OK, but I have to admit the quality is a tad less than the one news I already have.
I use the Ratchet Tie Downs to suspend my 3 float boats from my garage ceiling and have been very pleased with them.

I've Loved These tie-downs. There's so much better than the elastic ones. They last a lot longer to. I use them when I have to go to the dump I just put the tarp on but the tie-downs corner to corner. They are easy to use. Everything is secure when I use the tie downs.
The rope ratchet works well . I use it to tie down in my trailer and also over the top of my tent . It holds every thing in its place. Thank you.
Seems to be made well but description indicated up to 10' length, which is what I needed. This rope is too short, but it is not worth sending back between the price of the item and the deduction for shipping. copied from website:

Hey I think that there was just some confusion. This strap is 7.5 feet long and is in our 6 to 10 feet long category. I do not have a strap that is exactly 10 feet long however we do have longer straps that you can see in the link below.
This is an excellent high-quality ratcheted rope tie-down that exactly replaces the one that I lost on my Thule Hullavator kayak rack. As always etrailer had what I needed and they shipped it fast.

Still work fine. No unusual wear.
I bought several Erickson Tie-Down Rope w/ Ratchets to allow me to lift/store my truck cap. Best value and quality I found anywhere. Makes this job so much easier -I was using standard ratchet straps which I had to unwind (can only ratchet a little before it becomes "full". Used a couple of 2x4s under the cap and 2 of the SportRack Cam Buckle Cinch Straps to keep the cap attached to the 2x4s.
Don't go to Walmart - prices and selection were much better here!
